We were passing through the Brandon area during a recent road trip and were looking for a good lunch spot that wasn't too far off the highway. After having such an amazing experience at the Orlando location, we decided to stop at Zen Dumpling. I had been raving about it to my husband and this was going to be his first time trying it. Even though it was a Monday afternoon, this spot was poppin' for lunch. They had a short wait for a table, but you can easily join their virtual waitlist when you arrive. We were seated within about 5 minutes and they brought over a high chair for my son. I started with some hot tea and I knew I basically wanted the exact items I had tried during my first visit because everything was SO GOOD. I marked our selections on the ordering form including the spicy cucumber salad, truffle pork soup dumplings, and the mini bao bites. This ended up being the perfect amount of food for 2 of us to share. If you're looking to order one more thing, get the zen chili wontons. I'm a big fan of their soup dumplings and glad to see that they are going to be expanding in to Altamonte Springs soon! read more

Great experience here with the kiddos on a Saturday afternoon. The check in was a little chaotic with the hostess, but we were quoted 25 minutes, and that was exactly how long we waited for a table. She offered to grab us sodas or water while we waited, but we were ok with just waiting. The kids loved watching the chefs work through the glass window to the kitchen. Our server was attentive and made great suggestions for our late lunch. In order of things we loved: 1. Soup dumplings with crab and pork 2. Signature steamed bao 3. Pan fried beef dumplings 4. Steamed dumplings with pork and cabbage. We also ordered the spicy cucumber salad, which was phenomenal for cooling down our mouths when we accidentally added too much chili crisp to our dumplings. We had a few different soup dumplings, hot & sour soup, spicy cucumber salad, signature bao and the Mongolian beef. IMO everything lack flavor the only the was good is the Mongolian beef. As I mentioned we had a variety of soup dumplings and they all tasted the same very bland. The decor of the restaurant was nice and social media worthy but it felt crammed. They had a glass room where you can see the staff hand filling the dumplings which was a nice touch. Service was okay but nothing to rave about. I doubt I would return. read more

The soup dumplings assortment is something so wonderful that everyone should experience them at least once in their lives. The Mongolian Beef is fantastic, best I've had anywhere in Florida. The signature bao are very good. The service was flawless. Definitely try this restaurant! But Do Not get the General Tso Chicken; it has a good sauce with fresh bell peppers and broccoli, however they use the same pre breaded chicken pieces as you would find at Panda Express! The lighting inside is warm and cozy and the vibes are there. I tried the soup dumpling sampler which seemed fitting as it was my first time visiting the restaurant, might as well try all that they have to offer, right? My favorites were the truffle pork and the krab and pork by far. We also tried the sticky rice which was yummy but needed to be dipped for extra flavor and the pork belly buns which I prefer to be a little more crispy but the flavor was delicious!
