I wanted to have Chinese food at an actual Chinese restaurant. Hubs found this place so we headed out. When we arrived we were the only customers. Walked in and greeted and say immediately. Given menus and water. They also have soda and beer and other drink options which are located in the coolers for you to grab. The restaurant is clean and has plenty of seating. The owner is attentive and friendly. Service is fast. After we ordered we had our food out rather quick. I ordered the mapu tofu and hubs got the beef noodle. I liked the flavor of the broth of hubs noodle soup. My mapu was spicy and really didn't have much flavor other than the spice. The steamed buns were flavored with some spice on the outside which mixed with the spice of my dish made my tongue want water lol. Not bad and nice to try. They just have alot of items on the menu that don't appeal to me.

Probably will return. We made a wrong turn from going to Beijing House, so ended up here. No frill decor, decent food and good service, with one young man serving. Per the Michelin guide, this restaurant operates by husband & wife team, Hongfeng Li and Ling Wu who are from Shenyang 沈阳, the provincial capital of Liaoning, one of three northeast provinces that collectively called Dongbei 东北, the rust belt. Xinjiang, in the northwest, has sandstone hills, named Flaming Mountains 火焰山. Not sure they've any relation. But skewers 烤串 are popular in both regions. The kitchen seems to extends to the front. I hear the clunking of the wok but don't smell any cooking fragrance - good ventilation. We've A4 Malatang 麻辣烫 E22 Grilled eggplant 蒜蓉茄子 D3 Chongqing spicy chicken 重庆辣子鸡 A4 is way too salty, even for me, a salt lover. Three whole shrimps (with heads and tails) have thick black veins, are over cooked. Eggplant and chicken are very flavorful. Initially we ordered Spicy noodles 鱼香面 The chef yelled from the kitchen that he doesn't have it, in Chinese. So both I and the server laughed, who doesn't have to relay it to me. "What doesn't he have?" I asked "The spice." The server said. They serve beers.

Tampa doesn't have much Chinese food so this place is something. Got the grilled fish, pork rib stew, and sweet sour pork. That sweet sour pork always hits and not many spots even do it. Fish was fine. Definitely not LA or NY level but it holds it down

I dream of this place ever since I've had it. The meat skewers remind me of the ones I eat when I visit family in China. Hands down, some best flavoring I've ever tried, I recommend the beef skewers for sure! The enoki mushroom dish was DELICIOUS. I love a good enoki entree. The cucumber salad had good flavoring, very savory. It's a good place to order a little of each and see what you like, and order more if you enjoy a specific skewer. I would come back here so often if I lived here. Give this restaurant a try!!

What a great find! LET ME PUT YOU ON! Great mom and pop restaurant! The past two times I've gone, I've been really impressed with service and authenticity. Personally, I find it a good sign that there were plenty of Asians in and out of the restaurant while we were there. Definitely will return often!! Tried a bunch of different dishes I really wouldn't normally choose, like the chicken feet. It's not like your braised and fall off the bone chicken feet at dim sum. There's more chew to it but it wasn't bad! Huge assortment of skewers to choose from. My usual go tos are chicken heart, chicken gizzard, mushrooms, prawns, and pork belly. My partner likes the lamb but I do not like lamb in general. They are all seasoned with like a cumin and peppery mixture. Mapo tofu was very numbing spice! I LOVED. not for everyone tho so this is your warning. Vegetables to go with meal, the grilled eggplant was heavily garlicky and I'm a hardcore garlic girl so LOVE. Green beans are also a must have! The eggplant in garlic sauce is also yummy! Very saucy so be sure to order rice. The beef noodle soup had a great savory flavor. I loved the texture of the noodles. Not pictured was the chunking spicy chicken and the stir fried beef with peppers and leak. Chicken was so crispy and not too overly spicy unless you ate a dried chili with it. The beef dish was recommended to us by who I'm assuming is the owner. She been there every time we've gone. It was yummy!

Always great and unique food. Everything was always well seasoned and flavorful. This place gives me a glimpse into the rich history of chinese food. Must try when in Tampa.

I've heard that the food is inconsistent. But decided to go try it anyway. We were the only table there to dine in on a Sunday. The meat skewers were decent but the squid skewer was really not as pic on the menu. It didn't look very pricy but when we were given the bill, everything adds up to be around $100 for lunch for two people.

Flaming Mountain may be my new go to place for Szechuan food in the Tampa area. They have a variety of hot and spicy items that are well executed. I loved the Chongqing Spicy Chicken with the crispy fried chicken pieces, chili peppers, and peanuts. The Twice Cooked Pork Belly was solid as well. Service was fast and efficient, with the servers quick to take your order and the food quick to come out. However, just be aware that the store is pretty small. If you have a large party, there's a good chance you won't be able to fit or it will be a long wait for enough tables to open up. The serving sizes are also a little small for some dishes. But overall, still a very solid place that I will be coming back to again :)

The bok choy was my favorite so good it was a pretty kool experience authentic Chinese food, you really feel like you have stepped into China walking into this restaurant. The waitress was so friendly and recommended dishes for me to try at home.

We decided to check out Flaming Mountain this weekend in hopes of enjoying some skewers. Unfortunately, no skewers were to be found. We stopped in on Sunday afternoon. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our service was great. As soon as we sat down, we were informed that no skewers were available as they were short on cooks. This was pretty disappointing as we drove up from St Pete specifically for the skewers, but we decided to try some other options while we were there. We decided to go with Dan Dan noodles, fried cumin lamb, and the mapo tofu. We placed our order and grabbed a few drinks out of the cooler. Our food came out quickly. First out was the Dan Dan noodles followed by the lamb and tofu. We tried the noodles first. They were decent. Sesame was the only thing we really tasted. The fried cumin lamb was next. It was super flavorful. It was combined with sweet potatoes and onions. We loved it. The mapo tofu was last and our favorite. It had a great depth of flavor. It was nicely spicy, numbing, and had us sweating. We did have to ask for rice with the tofu and it probably should have been served with it. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. We were a bit disappointed we couldn't get skewers, but the mapo tofu and lamb were exceptional dishes. We will return and call before to verify they have a proper staff on hand.

I have visited this place three time. I can said Tampa finally has a good Chinese BBQ place. This is a popular place now in Tampa. First come first serve. No reservations. So either go early or late. Space is limited. The BBQ need some time to cook, so order some easy cook items while waiting. The flavor of the marinated sauce is one of favorite. Cumin sauce with their secret ingredient. I recommend their lamb and beef skew for bbq. They do have some seafood bbq. We try their squid skew. Other than BBQ, they do have dish that very interesting. We got the griddle wok chicken, stir fry chittering, the steam dumpling, braise beef noodles. Their food mainly are spicy. They do have some is not spicy. This type of food is made for northern China due to cold weather. Now is popular everywhere.

Everything was amazing!!!!! The skewers are exactly how I wanted it I miss them from home!!!! The noodle had a great broth and the noodle had the perfect chewiness! I ate so much here and ended up taking some back to my hotel and ate it later!!! If I come back in Tampa I will definitely come again!

I don't frequent Asian restaurants a lot. Invited by friends to join them here and I was introduced to several dishes that I wouldn't have ordered on my own and enjoyed everything I tried... there were a couple of dishes that I didn't (wouldn't...) The potatoes were super spicy, as intended. The beef spare ribs were very good! The green beans were super spicy but they were also good. I really liked the chopped beef and egg drop soup. But my favorite dish was the Lazi chicken. I would come back and order that again! I did feel like this establishment was more like a cafeteria set up... very casual... might even be better for take out than eating in, just looking at the tables and chairs. Still, with the right company, I would come back and might even be more adventurous and try something new!

I was greeted upon entering and seated at a table immediately -- it took a few minutes for someone to come by my table and take an order, but they answered all of my questions. My order consisted of: 1. Unsweetened iced tea. Likely from the soda fountain but decent. 2. Pork dumplings. Served hot and steamed. The pork is well seasoned and very tasty. . 3. Duck noodle soup, ordered for an egg allergy and not spicy. So let's talk about this duck soup. First of all the broth is not that salty, but has a lot of good flavor. The noodles are perfectly cooked and the vegetables are fresh! The duck is is very very good. Some may find the duck is not tender enough however I really happen to like it. One thing other folks may not like is the fact that the duck comes partially on the bone. At least you know it's freshl! If you order this, make sure to take your time with the pieces of duck! All in all a great spot for a solid meal made to order!
