Be cautious doing business here, the woman broke my glasses, lied about it, was shady / rude to me overall and almost didn't give me a refund. I called in advance about if she could replace the lenses in my nonprescription glasses, she told me to come in so she could see them, I go in and explain to her my situation and gave her my glasses so she could see for herself like she said on the phone. She looked uncertain after we talked for 5-10 min (keep in mind she's holding and observing my glasses during this), so I retrieved my glasses after our initial talk, left and came back shortly to let her know I'd go through with the repair. She charged me $40 and told me to come back in 2 hours. I came back and discovered she broke 1 arm off and had the nerve to tell me "thats how I gave them to her earlier" making 0 sense since she fully saw and held my unbroken glasses for that 5-10 min talk before I went through with the purchase. I knew she was lying and so she quickly moved on to say they were cheap and tried to make me buy her glasses for a discount, I refused so she then said she'd only refund the $40 I paid to the business I bought the glasses from, not me...... I had to request more than once that I receive my full refund from her for literally breaking my glasses. She did give me a refund (w/o a receipt after I requested it) but this process left me incredibly sad, disappointed, and frustrating. Prices were reasonable but not worth it if they're going to blatantly lie about your glasses and leave you with nothing to wear afterwards. Terrible experience as a 1st time customer overall. read more

Best place ! I don't know how I didn't stumble across before getting my glasses somewhere else and paying a really high price . I really needed my glasses to see and Giuliana was able to replace my frame with no issues. I did not I repeat did not need to bring any prescription because I only needed my frame fixed. Since I only need to wear my glasses for driving and watching TV, I wanted to get a pair I could leave in the car. When I was in Los Angeles recently, I noticed on the map that Zegarra Optical was on the way home. Since had my prescription with me, I decided to check it out. It was about 6pm on a Saturday, so I called to see if they were open. Giuliana said she had to go to the pharmacy, but would come back in 30 minutes and reopen for me. So we agreed to meet. I found the shop and she was there. Her shop is a strip of Boutique shops set back from the main street on Van Nuys, so its not visible from the street. You have to park and walk, but there's parking in the back. At first I wondered if I'd find a frame because the place was on the small side, and I normally have a hard time finding frames that fit. But she had a lot of nice frames, and in no time at all, I found a super cute frame that was very reasonably priced! I thought Giuliana would have to send them to me later in the week, but the amazing thing was, she made the lenses to fit the frame right then and there so I could walk out with them. It only took about 15-20 minutes! Giuliana was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. She provided expert, personalized service that I really appreciated... and I was able to drive home seeing the road in crystal clear detail. read more
