Having struck out at the bookstore "restaurant" up the street, I wandered down to Zeek's for a slice. The lone worker was friendly as I came in, asked what I needed. A good sign, I foolishly thought to myself. I said a slice, to which he pointed at a couple of sad aging cheese sectors and said he'd just put in pepperoni and a few others. They'll be out in 12 minutes, he added. Great, I said. I'll take a walk and be back for one, thanks. And so it began as an unusually normal interaction, for Seattle. After a short walk and stop in the wine shop (tops marks, wine shop!), I returned, 15-16 minutes later, figuring the new slices would be out then, or as I supposed, shortly. Still, store sans subsequent slices, said sectors solely stood sub-sunlamp sentry, sadly. So, sitting seemingly sole sentience shopside, not far from the counter, in plain sight, he'd see me if/when he returned. He did, and he did. Looking at me, he said not a word, motioned not an acknowledgement, offered nary an update, instead returning to the non-dining room. Fine I thought. Obviously the fresh pizzas weren't done. I'll wait. Can't be long. I looked away for a minute. Then I looked back. No pizza guy. No changes from my vantage. More minutes passed. Surely now this much longer than the estimated 12 minutes indicated something awry. Approaching the counter, which had been a mere ten feet away, what do I see? Fresh pies! Four of them! New cheese, a veg, a pep, and glorious mushroom, herby and glistening! All sliced and ready to go just in case someone was waiting for one. In case someone had previously, recently, had a discussion regarding his clear intent to purchase a fresh slice. Oh happy, yet fleeting, times! What did I NOT see? A Zeek's employee. After stealthily stocking silent steamy slices, once again he'd vanished. (yes it was the same guy, I'm sure.) Why hadn't he said anything? It's a mystery. Customer service in Seattle? Don't laugh, I can still dream. But, I know, I know, that is SO not cool. Rather, customary in Seattle is rude aloofness. Helpful is not hip. Hip simply cannot be bothered. So I waited. A minute. Two? Nah, not quite. Still the lone occupant, I came to the hungry conclusion that satiation would not be possible, in this place. I wondered if he might have eventually lumbered back out into the space where people have money and need for food and become surprised and confused that I wasn't dutifully waiting for him to return from whatever was more important in a Zeek's Pizza shop than operating a Zeek's Pizza shop. I went up to Pagliacci and within two minutes flat of using their door I had a nice slice, cheerfully served up hot. Well done Pagliacci. Zeek's, where are you finding this "help"? read more

My first Zeek's Pizza did not disappoint! Definitely one of the best pizzas I've had in Seattle and I would come back more often if only eating pizza outside was affordable these days. A mini costs minimum $17 now. You can save by getting sliced pieces. Two slices was about $11 and the same size as a mini. The owner is so nice! The only problem is that this place is dead. Marketing problem? Location problem? When I went there was also insane construction upstairs. Don't let any of that deter you from trying it. read more

TL;DR: Basically, deplorable pizza and customer service; refuse to refund for the wrong pizza despite follow-ups. Not worth the premium price. Check out Ridge Pizza NE, Veraci Pizza Wedgewood instead. ---- Long version: I had been a long-time customer of Zeeks Pizza in the Ravenna location, until last Friday, Dec. 1, 2023. They have now completely lost me as their repeat customer in all their locations. On that early Friday evening around 4:30 p.m., I ordered the build-your-own pizza, which was a tomato base pizza with pepperoni and button mushroom toppings. Simple right? Apparently, this request was too complex to grasp. When my friend brought home the pizza, mine was missing the mushroom topping. This was not the first time they got my order wrong. In the past, they messed up numerous times and on a grander scale, but always found a way to correct the order. Hence, why I took a long break from them. This time, on the same evening that I ordered the pizza, I took time out of my Friday evening to go back and explained the issue nicely. I live nearby. I thought it was much easier that way to resolve it in person. When I explained the issue, I was met with daze and confusion. Apparently, the staff member at the register was new, and honestly, he also seemed a little bit high. The place was a bit busy given it was Friday night, but it wasn't packed to the brim at all - it wasn't busy to the point where he could not even form one logical thought as a response to my situation. He said they were not authorized to do refunds (Seriously? Really? What kind of establishment is it that can't process refunds?), so he took down my number and said that the manager, who could do refunds, would call me back. Fine. Of course, nobody followed up with me. I suspected the number he reluctantly wrote on the scrappy piece of paper was quickly tossed to the side. So, I went back to follow up 2 days later. I explained my issue again to the staff and was met again with daze and confusion. They referred me to another staff member who repeated the same shit that he was not authorized to process the refund. I told him that nobody got back to me and asked when the manager would be in, so it was just easier that way. He responded with not knowing when he would be in. Really? Instead of giving me the manager's phone number, he gave me the number of the franchise owner of the store. Franchise owner, he said. Sure, he will take my call. Why on earth would you give me the number of a franchise owner? Stupid me, I called and left a VM. Surprise, surprise, he didn't get back to me, either. I was frustrated. I am not trying to be a "Karen." The dollar amount for the missing topping was not a big deal at all, but it was the principle of the matter to me. How they treated me and the whole situation felt icky. Their lackluster attitude toward their customer service was astounding. How they handled the complete debacle was utterly embarrassing. They didn't mention anything about redoing the pizza, giving me credit back, or providing any other solutions. Where's the training in customer service and for these kinds of issues? Their pizzas WERE NOT CHEAP, and for that price point, I expect the service overall to be excellent. I just felt completely ignored and disregarded as a customer. I've heard in the community that they don't pay their staff very well and pressure people to tip too much. Why don't you pay your staff better, Zeeks? How about better financial management and being less greedy? How about actually investing your time in training your staff? Maybe it's because the staff are such indentured servants they couldn't care less about the quality of their pizza and service they provide to their customers. They're going to start losing their customers based on the shit I've heard my friends also have to put up with, wrong orders, shitty customer service and long wait times. There are much better, tastier pizza options around that will beat them out as a competitor, such as Ridge Pizza NE, Veraci Pizza Wedgewood - at least that's what I foresee. I love the Ravenna neighborhood and regularly support small and local businesses. After waiting a week, I ended up having to call my bank and dispute the charge for the entire pizza, which 100% will be resolved successfully. The claim has been processed, and they already refunded me. I cannot believe how much time I've wasted on following up with them, writing this review and calling my bank. But that's how shitty they made me feel, and my time was worth it to let people out there know about their crappy culture and not to waste anymore dollars toward this business who apparently couldn't care less about their customers. read more

I won't lie, the mushroom pizza here is very very good. I swapped the red sauce for ranch and it was perfectly salty and delicious! Everyone in the kitchen is so nice and accommodating when I had trouble with ordering via the website. Only thing I will say is that Zeeks has gotten very expensive. A medium size pizza, 1/2 plain cheese and 1/2 w/mushrooms and ranch, $30. No drinks no sides. They also do not offer a kids size pizza, which really deterred me as the 9" personal size is $11 with no toppings. i had a picky 5 year old with me so this wasn't ideal and ended up going for the medium to save a little bit of money. Might I add, if you do custom, they charge almost $2 per topping... also, i have been going to various Zeek's since I was a kid and remember them offering a better experience for kids. kids pizza, a ball of pizza dough to play with at the table, crayons, etc. Overall I'll probably come back, just a little thrown off by how much it costs now. Absolutely dead- we weren't sure if it was open or not but the door was open so we went in! The staff was SUPER friendly and overall good vibes in the place. Now... let's talk pizza. I really liked Zeeks and I'll def be back. We got a large half/half and it was 12 slices for $39. Not cheap but hey, this is Seattle after all. This is an overdue review. A few months ago after a couple of years of very poor experiences from the Roosevelt / 65th Zeeks, I had a hankering for a John Candy pizza and decided to give them another try. So glad I did! The manager (CJ?) was so incredibly nice and the pizza was cooked PERFECTLY and they weren't stingy with the toppings. I get the sense they understand their service and quality has been very poor lately and they're working hard to turn it around. CJ was very genuine and positive. I hope the 'hood gives them another chance. Regarding prices, like everything the last couple of years, their prices have gone up. Our large Woodbutcher pizza looked like whoever's made it hated their job. It had large chunks of green pepper, barely chopped in large pieces, very little if any sauce and almost no flavor. Myself and a friend went to Zeeks Ravenna last night for pizza, beer and to watch the Mariners Game. It was an excellent experience. We walked in and immediately were greeted said hello, help yourself to a seat. Before we sat down we viewed the beers on draft and the gal there was very knew her stuff about each Tap Beer. We ordered a large half n half John Candy and Wood Butcher. It was excellent, perfectly cooked and very adequate toppings. We watched the game and 2 different servers / bartender came back to check on us to see how we were doing. We also ordered the Greek Salad and it was equally as good! The best part of the night was that the Mariners won and kept in Playoff Contention but also we had a standout experience at Zeeks Ravenna. We will be back!! What a great pizza joint tucked away near Green Lake! I'm a visitor to the area and this pizza was just what I needed. It was flavorful and had a unique richness to it. The meats were tender and each slice had the perfect amount of grease on it. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was very mellow. They make these really cool posters of all their pizzas and they're super fun to look at. That bathroom situation was a little funky, and the tables weren't 100% clean, but if either of those things were different then this place wouldn't be as good as it is. Used to live in the Ravenna neighborhood and remembered when this Zeek's Pizza replaced a former indie pizza shop. Fast forward to Wednesday evening (7/12/17)...the dining area looked a bit worn. Service, however, remained decent. Folks dining in, awaiting pickup orders like me, and of course, they offer delivery. I was requested to bring home a large pizza (half pepperoni, half Puget Pounder) after my solo dinner at nearby JuneBaby. Thicker crust, hearty toppings. Just wished it didn't cost so much ($31 with tax and tip)...but then it's about ingredients, overhead, and taking care of their employees. Noticed looking at a takeout menu that Zeek's Pizza sure has expanded with lots of locations now. Pizza was handed to me fresh out of the oven and remained hot as I headed up I-5 North. So hubby & I went here Saturday night because I bought the Seattle Times punchcard special. We had never tried Zeeks before & I don't know that I would again unless I hear they have changed their dough recipe. As others have mentioned its a pretty fluffy doughy dough. Perfect for kids. But if you prefer something with a bit more bite or yeasty flavor you will not like this crust. We were sat in the small section to the right of the door. Impossible for servers to pass between the tables. Very cramped & uncomfortable. The section on the left however was full & full of families with kids. Disappointed with the beer on tap & bottle selection. Thankfully I believe it rotates but our Pilsner for $5.50 tasted like a $3 Budweiser & the other microbrew tasted old & flat. I ordered a large pizza and 4 Jones soda root beers for delivery this evening on zeeks ordering platform. I left specific instructions with my order for delivery driver to call me and I would come down to the lobby to receive my order. Driver not only never called me and I was never aware he stopped by but he put my pizza and only 1 Jones soda in the mail room and left without any contact with me or leaving a receipt. Worst customer experience at a pizza place. I ordered online, the estimated wait time was 50 min. I showed up at Zeeks after 50 minutes, was cheerily told it would be another 25 minutes. I returned 25 minutes later and was told my pizza had just been put in the oven. When I asked about the wait time, the kid behind the counter informed me that they were in high demand. No apology or recognition that a 2 hour wait time for a pizza sucks (when the website advertised 50 min). When I asked to cancel my order, the response was 'fine, we'll eat it'. There are lots of reasons to love Zeeks --they are constantly offering coupon deals in this tough economy, they help the community, they donate lots of pizza to local schools. For these things specifically, they score a five in my book. Its just that Zeeks Pizza doesn't taste particularly great. Its a combination of things: the pizza has a doughy, breadlike crust and they lay on a ton of average tasting cheese. I unfortunately associate these things with frozen pizza, and I suspect , some cutting of corners may be involved for their product to taste like this. I do think they have great salads though, but this is a pizza place, and so I'm not sure that's enough to redeem things. On the plus side, they deliver and the pizza's arrive very, very quickly compared to other delivery spots in town. Finding a pizza that pleases everyone is a truly daunting task. Assuming you get over the first hurdle of New York vs. Chicago-style, there's the brain-melting task of picking pizza toppings that everyone likes, or at least tolerates. One person prefers pesto to marinara, another person only likes veggie combos, someone else really wants Hawaiian pizza but they'll settle for meat supreme, but can we not do the black olives and substitute sun-dried tomatoes for the mushrooms? So I was a little nervous when some out-of-town friends joined me and my dining companion for pizza at Zeeks, where I'd never been. What were the chances of all of us being satisfied with our food? Inside, it looks like a typical pizza parlor - not too fancy, but not corporate and faceless, either. There's a big counter where you can place your orders and watch them making the pizzas, and a large dining area off to one side with wooden fixtures and booths. The walls are a cheery light yellow, and covered with posters of local events, shows, concert posters, and so on, which gives you stuff to look at while you're waiting for your pizza. We did have to clean crumbs off our table before sitting down, but I don't expect sparkly-clean from my pizza parlors. After some negotiation, we actually managed to settle on one pizza that everyone was willing to eat - the Organic Drift (feta, spinach, red onions, roma tomatoes, fresh oregano, mozzarella and tomato sauce). A 16" large ($23.95) claims to feed "three hungry folks," so we got an order of breadsticks ($5.25) while we were waiting. The breadsticks were warm, fluffy, and fresh, and plenty for four people to share. The breadsticks and the large pizza were more than enough for four of us, and we even took home a couple of leftover slices. Everybody liked the Organic Drift, amazingly. The crust was thick (a bit too thick for me, actually) and soft, and they were generous with the toppings. The slices are big and gooey enough that I first tried to eat with a fork and knife, but eventually picked them up to eat. It's even better eaten cold later as leftovers! In addition to signature meat and veggie combos and choose-your-own-toppings, they have individual slices available for around $4, in cheese, veggie, pepperoni, and "meat signature." Half and whole salads are available, plus beer and wine (dine-in only). On a Saturday night, the place was fairly quiet with only a couple of other tables, so we were able to sit and talk. I wish there was one closer to me in West Seattle, but they offer delivery too for those times when I just can't drag myself all the way to Ravenna. read more

I love zeeks pizza. We live across the street so they are a regular takeout dinner for us. (Can't comment on the interior or atmosphere) I'm in and out when we call in the order and eating pizza on the deck. For me the dough /base is fantastic - I love the dough (nicely proved) they use. Not spongy and not crispy and the leftovers reheated in the microwave for lunch the next day are soooo awesome. (The base gets a little chewy and is almost better than the night before) Favorites are the Forager (mushroom Rocket and prosciutto- I mean what's not awesome about that), Spanish steps and the cherry bomb. Great combinations of flavors and not your routine. Favorite go to pizza place of anywhere we've lived in the last 20 years. read more

If I can give this Zeeks location ZERO stars I would. We had the worst experience ever! We have been coming to Zeeks for years! And never been treated this way. At first our pizza came out cold & not cooked throughly. The manager had the cook make another one.. gave us half off for the pizza. However, it was late I had to go to work and had the pizza to go. Once we got home.. we opened it to have dinner. Unbelievable! The pizza was burnt! We called and told the cook the problem.. he said to bring it back.. we showed him the burnt pizza and he told us the pizza was edible. The audacity! He was upset & made us upset! He was saying "tell us how you want your pizza next time because you'll probably make lies about how it was cooked!" Things got heated & told us to leave and refused to give his name and refused to let us speak to the manager. Never again at this location! Where to start? Well, our waiter was in the weeds as the only server. Literally there were 8 people working: a "busser?," delivery dude (I think) and 5 people on the pizza line? There was a big party so I was understanding but then a hour turned into a hour and a half and still no pizza. Meanwhile, they're turning out pizzas all over the place. Server came by and apologized and said they made our pizza 3x and kept messing up. I asked for a manager to take the pizza off and he said that he's too busy. We've been eating Zeek's pizza for years. Since the pandemic began, we've been using their delivery service. Though there was a memorably long wait about 6 months ago, tonight we had no such issues. Once upon a time there was one of the most amazing pizza joints in Seattle. With slices roughly the size of a small camel and enough fat and grease to make brussels sprouts taste delicious, this flat crust pizza joint was home to not only delicious pizza, but also this tiny bottle of apple juice that as a little kid I liked to make out with because it would suck in my lips and feel funny. Then it got replaced by Zeeks, which is like me giving you a crisp new $100 bill and you handing me back a soiled $5.00 bill and six 1983 Canadian pennies and calling it even. ~~~~~~ One of the reasons that the DiGiorno's advertising campaign (It's not delivery) works so well is because the people that only eat at Zeeks find that it tastes exactly like Microwave pizza. The cheese tastes processed, and while some of their seasoning is acceptable, the size of each slice, the price, and the overall lack of any delicious flavors makes this place somewhat unbearable. Ideas for improvement: - Offer larger slices. - Use more/better cheese. - Add less/better sauce - Improve your bread. - Make better pizza. I'm sure Guido's sold out to you for a reason, and I'm guessing that there are people that find your pizza bearable - especially those that like bad pizza and/or did not know about Guido's beforehand. But if you are going to take over for a delicious pizza joint, it's usually a bad idea to offer smaller slices and a greater price for pizza that tastes worse. I'd be willing to give Zeeks another shot in a year or so because it's hard to screw up pizza, but when you take over for a place as great as Guido's was, you need to be better. Since I wrote my last review, the quality of the pizza at Zeeks has gone severely downhill. I used to frequent the Ravenna location 1-2 times per month, but the last few times I've gone, the pizza has had minimal toppings thrown into the center of the pizza. Several of the slices are mostly crust with no topping and the crust extends a good 3-4 inches in to the pizza. This is upsetting due to the fact that the pizza cost is nearly 30 dollars, and for that expensive of a pizza, I definitely expect more bang for my buck. The pizza I normally order does not contain expensive ingredients. It has chicken, carrots, cilantro, and bean sprouts. Half the time when I leave Zeeks, I have a sick feeling in my stomach after spending over 40 dollars on what is essentially bare pizza crust. I've tried to give Zeeks the benefit of the doubt because I really like their recipes, but the quality I've received the last few times is inexcusable. I took a photo of the last pizza I ordered to show that it was mostly crust. I will say, that I have absolutely zero complaints with the employees and have always received exemplary service, but unless they make some changes, I'm done with Zeeks. read more

I've had much much better pizza than this. For a almost $40 pizza, I would say that even Papa Johns is if not equal then better than the same type at Zeek's. Warning: They are very very stingy on the tomato sauce, I'm not even sure if they put any pizza sauce at all on it. Also, their cheese tastes like the cheese that I make when I put a slice of Kraft in the oven...it solidifies immediately and becomes this chew gross blob afterwards. The crust was so average, not thin enough for thin crush but also so hard and crispy that I thought I was going to break a tooth on it...dried out to the max. They didn't even have garlic sauce for the crust, and anything extra costs extra money. I don't care much about delivery if what I get sucks. Eat at Tutta Bella, or maybe order 4 pizzas at Papa Johns. You'll probably get better pizza for the same price. read more

The pizza here is terrible. It's hard to even call it pizza. The crust is way too thick and the sauce is tasteless. I went in on a Friday night to get takeout and I almost got run over twice by screaming kids chasing each other in the restaurant. Their parents were drinking beer, talking, and letting their kids run amok. The employees were very nice but that isn't a good enough reason to come back and eat the "pizza" here. read more
