The mushroom pizza: It was...a really surprisingly sweet pizza probably due to very sweet onions, I wouldn't again.

I came here for a puzzled pint and unlike the ones in Seattle, this one was at a place that primarily serves food! Very exciting. They have customer parking underneath, across from the QFC. Overall they were really friendly in inviting us in, bringing water, and letting us use the space for puzzles. For me specifically, they ...kind of dropped the ball on all of it. One person told me she'd bring me a menu once I was seated, but proceeded to pass me by when handing out menus (maybe because I already had water? Unclear. I tried to flag her down but she either didn't see me or ignored me). When I got up to ask about it, a different person just looked expectantly for me to order. When I told her I hadn't received a menu yet, she just gestured at the to go menu on the counter. When the pizza came, there were no napkins or utensils or anything given to me either. Throughout the whole hour and a half I was there, no one so much asked how I was doing despite that seeming to be standard for all the parties around me (including another one with only one person, so it wasn't because I was a Singleton working on puzzles!). The pizza I got was the aggressive mushroom one, which was great on mushrooms but oddly overly sweet, so I probably wouldn't get it again. The texture of the pizza was great though. Overall, the place was nice for puzzles and the food was good (just not what I expected for my order, but that's not really their fault). It was just a really weird night of service of feeling like they were snubbing me for no reason. It would be different if that's how they treated everyone or at least everyone who was puzzling solo, but the other person at my same table who was working solo got much better and nicer service than I did. :/

Didn't want to go out for NYE, so decided to order pizza and breadsticks from a local pizza joint that we could bunch on while we waited for the strike of midnight on the West Coast. Zeeks Pizza is a popular chain around the Seattle area, founded in 1993 by two friends, who wanted to bring quality pizza to Seattle. My daughter found some deals on-line to bring the regular price down, and they had the concept of spicy Calabrian pizza that we wanted to try, so chose Zeeks to do so. One can order via the delivery apps but it was easiest to order from their website directly. We got a large Spicy Calabrian - Spicy Kahuna ($36.69 reduced to $22.25) and buffalo sticks ($16 for reduced to $9.75). Delivery fee was $6.60 and with tax and tip, total came to about $50. The pizza took a while to deliver (ended up adding 30 minutes to initial delivery time). It was lukewarm when we got it. The buffalo sticks were not good...it was just a small size pizza that had a chopped buffalo chicken mixture on top. The whole thing was extremely dry and the accompanying blue cheese dressing couldn't save it. Wish the crust was more fluffy, but instead was extremely dense and dry....almost like a cracker crust unintentionally. The pizza itself was OK, with the crust being average and forgettable. There was plenty of cheese, canned pineapple, crumbled bacon, and Canadian bacon (though not consistently throughout). But we badly underestimated the spicy calabrian sauce...it is basically the regular pizza sauce with a ton of crushed red pepper (not sure if already mixed in prehand to control the hotness, but rather guessing that it is added on top of the sauce once applied...and you can easily add too much). You can see easily see all the peppers flakes in the sauce....and I don't think they are consistent in the application of the flakes...this seemed way overdone. Much better to apply it yourself, to control the amount (since most places gives you packets of parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes if asked. The initial bites were OK, but the spiciness took too much away. Imagine taking one slice of a large pizza, and adding the contents of one hot pepper pack to it...that's how much hot pepper was on it. They are generous with their toppings, and the delivery driver was considerate and friendly, considering it was a holiday. And I agree that a review for delivery is different than dining-in...this would have been a strong 2 if dining-in. But it doesn't change the situation: we forcefully ate a quarter of the pizza and the rest is going to waste...considered making single servings that could be frozen, but no point if not going to be eaten later.

Delicious pizza delivery. I just can't get enough of this olive-oil based Quentin! As mentioned in my Duvall review, the marriage of goat cheese, spinach, artichoke hearts and sweet sun-dried tomatoes is just delectable! John Candy was a hit for my meat lovers. I wanted an alternative to Hawaiian and this just rolls a pepperoni and thick Canadian bacon together sprinkled with sausage. Winning! Hint: Get the app to rack up rewards points for discounts.

Take out from Zeeks worked out great for our extended family dinner. Four pies took care of our large group with leftovers to spare (always a bonus!).

Special note: if you are staying at the Hyatt, this is a short walk from the back entrance. Additional note: we were completely content to order from what we could see: pizza and beer. It turns out there are paper menus somewhere with additional options, such as salad and breadsticks- so ask about menus if you don't see them. The pizza: delicious! I especially enjoyed the crust, which was somehow buttery somewhat crisp on the bottom and bready awesome on top, all while being fairly thin. I do not know how this miracle is accomplished. The lunch special is 2 (giant) slices for $10 which is a luxuriously generous bargain. The taps are local and interesting, with something for everyone. Totally recommend!

In general Zeeks is one of our favorite pizza places, the only thing that keeps me from coming back more often is their prices. Food is fresh (salads are simple but fresh), pizzas are really good, thin crust. My kids love cheese pizza, simple and yummy. Service is friendly, and now you have a QR code on your table to place your order and you don't have to wait for the server to take your order. You can even pay from there . This Zeeks is located in the heart of bellevue, conveniently close to the shopping center. You'll get like a bar ambience.

I decided to eat here with my family because my daughter's preschool is right next to it. I am very very picky about food in general and especially when it comes to pizza. I have tried many different pizza places and most of those places was just ok. However I really like the pizza here. First of all, the dough is thin and crispy but not too crispy to the point of being burnt on the button. It is also not chewy. This places is usually not full at all, except during holidays when the snow lane is happening around 7 PM, which families with kids come to eat before watching the snow lane. It happens the last time we were here so the place was packed. My husband asked for a pizza with lots of meat ( I can't remember the name) and I asked for the margarita but without the feta cheese and onions. I like my margarita pizza the traditional way: only tomatoes and basil for toppings. We both loved the pizza but the first time we came here each of us ordered a medium pizza and it was way too much. The next time we came we ordered half and half and it was just enough since we don't eat a lot. Staff was super friendly. They did not have anything for kids to draw and the waiter took extra time to draw some cute pictures for my daughter. I always have crayons in my purse so it works a perfectly. The reason I am giving four stars is because the last time we came here the pizza had very little cheese which was disappointing. I overall recommend this pizza place indeed and looking forward to try it sometime soon.

In particular, the three amazing, high-quality cheeses they put on their pepperoni pizza is like a symphony in your mouth. I would just avoid adding their olives, which are green, not black, and possibly the saltiest thing I have ever had in my mouth. I doubt a teaspoon of salt would taste much saltier. After choking down one I did not eat any of the others. Why they don't offer high quality black olives, which do so much for pepperoni pizza IMO, is a head-scratcher for me. Though they brew their beer there, and they always have a stout or porter for me--I like to eat my beer with a knife and fork--I've never found it out of the ordinary. A can of Irish Death would be better. It's the pizza I go there for. But though it is my favorite place by far to have pizza, I have a bone to pick about one of the servers (most of their servers are fine): As a former fine dining restaurant server and shift manager, I'm familiar with the Washington state law that allows restaurant patrons to take partially consumed bottles of wine home with them in their cars if (a) it is resealed with its cork, and (b) they keep it in the trunk or other cargo area where humans don't normally sit. And don't touch it until they're parked at home. I'm a light drinker, and one time I only drank about half a bottle of beer. I think it might have been a large bottle, I'm not sure. Wondering if the rule I knew so well for wine might apply to beer bottles too, I asked the server if it was possible to take it home. I supposed that the main issue might be whether they had a way to seal it, since the cap was no longer good for that. He didn't know, and said he'd find out. When he returned, he said no, and acted like it was the dumbest question anyone in the universe had ever asked, or ever could ask. I had a flashback of Dixie's BBQ on Northup way by I-405 (long closed), where surly sarcasm from knuckle-dragging employees was basically a brand. Curious, today I asked Google for help. I learned that the reason it's possible with wine is because there is a special carve-out in Washington state law just for wine. The carve-out does not apply to any other type of alcohol. So it doesn't matter if you can find a way to reseal the beer bottle. Because the carve-out is only for wine, not beer. I doubt that nuance is widely known. I think it's a reasonable question. As a former server, I have a piece of advice for that server: If you ask a question of a coworker, and they answer with sarcasm, you don't pass that sarcasm on to the customer when you pass on the answer. That's bad service. In my 6 years in restaurants, I was asked my share of dumb questions. But I would never have dreamed of letting on that I thought the question was dumb. Because that's an important part of what good service is. But again, most of the servers there are fine.

So when I saw this location of…read moreBellevue's largest microbrewery, my wife and I had to stop in for an early lunch with a sampling of beers. The food and beers were great. As the name states, the very large brewpub is located in the Spring District, inside the park/greenspace. The district used to be an industrial area, that has been transformed into a mixed residential/retail area, centered around the light rail transit station. The brewery makes great use of the outdoor space, with a lot of seating for an impromptu biergarten on nice days. This Tuesday was a typical March day in Seattle, which meant dining inside was a must. We ended up finding street parking a couple of blocks away, though they do have validated parking: in the underground parking right below (with under 10 dedicated spots) and the bigger Spring district Parking garage nearby. Amanda was our server, and she was super friendly, giving us suggestions. They have a large selection of house brewed beers, and we chose eight of the non-IPA ones as two flights, consisting of 4 5oz glasses (assuming it cost $12). We tried the Harvest Boom P.O.G. Wheat (this was our favorite one), Bothell Brown (liked this one), Snake Charmer Irish Red (strangely very mild for a Red), ChugMeister Mazren Lager (my second favorite). Second flight consisted of 1882 Pre-Prohibition Lager (very crisp and light), Muckle Flugga Scotch Ale (really like Scotch Ale in general, though hard to find on the West Coast...thought this version was OK), Schwarzbier Black Lager (different, very mild, really enjoyed), and a Der Kommissar Pilsner (super light with no body). I don't think I've been able to choose two flights of non-IPA in-house beers before...they keep a very large selection here, and it's worth coming to, just for the draft beers. We ordered some bar food that both of us like, and each plate was excellent. Shareable thick cut fries ($11) was very filling, especially since they were fried very well and were sturdy enough for dipping. Got Scotch Ale Chili ($13) and it was hearty, with plenty of pinto beans and good ground beef, with not too much chili powder. It came with housemade tortilla chips, which were thin and excellent. Wanted to try their beef birria, ordered their birria Nachos ($19) and it was really well prepared. Everything was diced into small pieces, used a really good beer cheese sauce and the the fresh guacamole was solid. For a brewpub, it has excellent bar food. The portions were large...we ended up taking about half of it home. Next time, will stay longer and try some of their main course dishes. The room was modern with plenty of windows for natural light. The central bar is huge, but there are plenty of bar tables as well, letting patrons decide how they want to dine/hang. My only complaint was that the payment process was at the table with only a tablet, and gave me no chance to look at the receipt. The total seemed right and was expecting a chance for receipt, but Amanda grabbed the tablet after my tip and signature before I could ask for a digital receipt, and then disappeared. I suppose I could have tracked her down, but getting a receipt after a meal should not be that hard. Can't remember the last time I was out, and couldn't get a receipt easily...would have made this review a bit easier.

This was while the place was practically empty, so I'm not sure what else could have been occupying their time. Second, I ordered the pork shoulder stir fry which wasn't bad but had several large pieces of pure fat & gristle in it that I felt a high quality restaurant would have taken out of the dish. It's indicative of lazy & careless food preparation skills. Also, the basmati rice was very under-cooked...some pieces were even crunchy. Lastly, after leaving the place, I realized that I accidentally left my sunglasses there. So I called later that evening to inquire if they had found them. I discovered they route all incoming calls to a bot that instantly made me feel unimportant and unappreciated. What's worse is it tried to connect me with someone in the restaurant, but kept looping back into its own messaging narrative. What an absolute PITA. This enables me to make a broader point: Restaurants have to get it through their heads that cutting costs has negative impact on customer experience, putting the lifeblood of their business into jeopardy. Take the widespread adoption of QR code-based menus during COVID...how many restaurants do you know actually switched back to real menus after COVID passed? The answer is very few. The reason why? They are too stingy to pony up the dough and ignore the benefit to the customer experience. They figure, 'people already know how to do that so why spend the money on printing up menus anymore?". They couldn't care less about what customers might actually enjoy more, and that's the real travesty. If restaurants are going to force their customers into a self-serve model (as so many have nowadays), then why bother tipping anyone? I am so fed up of a world where the idolatry of wealth has surpassed the appreciation and value of real, engaging human experiences. The Central Bar + Restaurant could help reverse this course if they ever decide to they put customer experience first instead of their own profits. UPDATE: Added one star because they actually had my shades...went ot go pick them up today.

Okay, you guys, this place is SO good! Our server Jessica was amazing! She took great care of us…read moreeven though she was running the floor solo. I ended up having a second beer, which turned out to be just as good as the earlier two beers. My only complaint, was that it was before happy hour was done, and no one asked us if we wanted any food. Not that we needed any, but it would've been nice to have been asked. Good job overall.
