Then as we were putting our coats on and cleaning up our table to leave, he turned the lights off on us and left us in the dark, even though there were still employees there behind the counter working. When we said, 'We're putting our coats on, you don't have to turn the lights off on us, that's really uncalled for,' he responded curtly with, 'I already told you to leave,' followed by a cold look. He treated us in about the most unfriendly, unprofessional, harsh way you could treat polite customers who frequent here. There is a right way and a wrong way to go about letting customers know the establishment is closed and they would like you to leave. Especially after we spent $18 on 3 drinks (one was a small toddler drink). This was the very wrong, rude, unprofessional way to go about it. He was very cold and short in the manner he spoke to us and treated us, even in looks he was giving us. It was like he was taking his bad day out on us or something. If you're going to work in customer service, especially at a manager level, this is completely unacceptable, inappropriate, unprofessional behavior and a very rude way to treat loyal customers. We will never come back here because of his behavior, and we'll find another place to meet and have coffee with our friends. There are plenty of coffee shops where managers don't treat their customers this poorly.

I was a barista for 13 years, I have a lot of experience with coffee and even when making an espresso drink- you do not hand out hot coffee in an iced cup. I just asked for a cup of ice to pour it over, done being here. Tastes like trash, no flavor at all. Even my 11 year old son said "that looks nothing like what you order mom" I coulda bought a glass Starbucks drink in the gas station and poured it over ice and it would taste better then what I just got served. I was recommended to this place and I am highly dissatisfied.

It was difficult to decide which I wanted. It was like an assembly line of perfect little treats. The staff was very nice and helpful. The selection seemed endless and they had drinks in cans that were delicious. I had a very difficult time choosing which I was going to try. There is a seating area in the rear of the restaurant. It was full of happy people eating pastries and chatting. It was a perfect setting. I had heard about this place for years but never ventured inside. I regret not going to this lovely place sooner. The scone was unlike any I have had previously. Served warm it was moist and soft, not dry and not hard. The scone and Cortada are the best I can recall having at any coffee shop, including those in Kansas City, Chicago, St. Louis, Onyx Coffee in Northwest Arkansas, Little Rock Arkansas, Evocation Coffee in Amarillo TX, et all. The well-trained barista was friendly, knowledgeable, and did her best to prepare my Cortada just as I liked it. I usually forget to request a ceramic or glass for drinking coffee in the store, but she asked if that was my preference; extra points here! The layout, ambience, cleanliness, and variety of seating in the shop and outside were absolutely perfect. The four or 5 mile drive off the interstate to this coffee shop in an exceptionally small town was an unexpected find I am glad I didn't mess. I don't think you will be disappointed either.

When I pulled up, I was still a bit anxious about this as the front lot was full and I had to pull to the back to park. Once I got out of my car and walked through the cafe to the front to order my anxieties about seating had diminished. It's much larger inside than the outside appears and the photos here on Yelp don't really do the indoors justice. Yes, the outdoor seating is really cute and well shaded so I get why folks focus on it, but if you're like me and wanting to get some work done you'll find a comfortable spot here. Now onto the coffee. As I made my way into the shop I noticed one of my art school professors (we both sort of looked at each other like "do I know you?") and I moved on, but that's a good sign. The art teachers usually know where to snag a decent cup of coffee. When I ordered I tried one of their special drinks and chatted with the baristas about it before I made my choice. Extra points here because not only was the drink really, really good, but the girls working were beyond friendly and answered all of my questions.
