This place has become a meeting-place standard in my monthly routine. The earlier in the day you visit, the busier they are- but if you wait, you won't get a curry croquette! The staff are friendly, efficient, and well versed in their products. Some of the furniture could use a refresh (some of the upholstered chairs are looking worn) but overall the decor is pleasant and the entire facility is clean, clean, clean! I often order a hot tea with a savory pastry, but if you're looking for something special, the Mont Blanc pastry and the pistachio matcha latte are very popular. On one recent visit, my friend ordered the apricot pastry, and I got an ube donut and a mushroom tart. So good! The cream under the apricot was so light and fluffy. The combination of long open hours, friendly staff, and very fresh pastries makes this shop an essential spot in west Lawrence. read more

WOW. I had lunch at a pizza shop next door and a friend suggested we pop over for a pastry. I was not prepared for what awaited me. Tours was bright, cheery, and had soooo many pastries. It was difficult to decide which I wanted. It was like an assembly line of perfect little treats. The staff was very nice and helpful. The selection seemed endless and they had drinks in cans that were delicious. I had a very difficult time choosing which I was going to try. There is a seating area in the rear of the restaurant. It was full of happy people eating pastries and chatting. It was a perfect setting. I had heard about this place for years but never ventured inside. I regret not going to this lovely place sooner. I will definitely go back and recommend. I guess this is a franchise business with locations all over the US. I am just glad we have one in Lawrence. Still... WOW! read more

Stopped in near closing time on a cold December night and were pleasantly surprised by the numerous choices of beautiful pastries and breads that were still available. Couldn't believe it when I a friend told me this place has been in operation for years. Guess I need to venture over to Lawrence from Topeka more often! While not the case across the board, we found a number of the items we selected to be on par with the quality of treats we enjoy while visiting France. Needless to say I will be wearing out the Turnpike making return visits to this real gem. read more

This place speaks for itself but the sweets are sweet. The bread is bread. Honestly the honey dew milk bread is the best thing since sliced bread. Very sweet lady behind the counter. Always clean and good lighting. This is an at least once a month place for us! read more

The smell when you walk in should cost extra. So welcoming and the breads are just as delicious as the smell. We tried almond croissant, croissant stuffed with cream& strawberries, whipped cream bread, macaron and a cream donut...all were excellent! Croissants are flaky with great lamination (layers) and well-made. The cakes look great and we will be returning to try more items. So great to have a true patisserie in the area, and the French-Asian baking methods are amazing! read more

I really like this place, been here three or four times now and aside from once when i went late at night and missed out on a full selection, the entire offering has looked good. My favorites are any and all things chocolate, the chocolate dipped croissant and chocolate filled croissant, and the pan au chocolate are all quite nice. The vanilla custard filled donut is very soft and the cream is very subtle. Self service for the main goods, very easy to navigate. The place is minimalistic and very clean looking. I've loved this type of bakery since going to a similar one in Houston's Chinatown. I got a Sweet Rice Donut, which actually has red bean in the filling! I love red bean so I enjoyed it, but the label should not say only sweet rice. While I was debating what to get for my 2nd treat, one of the Asian lady chefs came out to the display case (assuming she was checking inventory) and tried to convince me to get a sweet cream filled pasty. I tried to tell her sweet cream is not my favorite, so she pointed to the nearby Strawberry Croissant. I had wanted to get some sort of croissant anyway so I took it. However it has more cream filling than I like. They were already out of the hazelnut one so I should have gotten a chocolate covered one. I also got an Iced Chocolate (a hot chocolate served over ice). It was overpriced for what you get. I thought my credit card processed before I went to sit down, while drink was being made, but when my drink was ready the lady said I needed to bring my card back and re-swipe. When I got my receipt there's $2.01 TIP on it that I did not press. HMMM. Didn't take a picture before I ate/ drank. Maybe next time I'm in Lawrence I'll try their macarons & cakes. read more

This new French-Asian themed bakery is a most welcome addition to the food scene in the city. Their offerings span a wide array of delectable bites ranging from the savory (Tomato Olive Danish, Garlic Twist, Croquettes, etc.) to the sweet (like Sweet Potato Pie, Pain Au Chocolat, assorted fruit pastries, cakes, too many to list!). A quick note that the local news calls the bakery Korean inspired, and I believe that to be true, and their long-term plans call for the addition of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) availability at the location. That personally gets me pretty excited. I've been headed to south JoCo in KC for a long-time checking out all the great KFC options so having it in Lawrence, a real bonus. Assume this is an extension of their 92 Chicken location in Overland Park. And the web site of the company that owns them calls it French-Asian. Never felt the need to categorize, but if you do, you've been served. Regardless of what continent inspires their food, all I care about is: is it great? Yes. Yes. YES. YES! My first visit I tried a savory croquette which was mouth watering, moist, packed with lots of flavor and didn't fall to pieces when munched. Expertly prepared, delicious, even portable I'd say. So why isn't someone packing a lunch for me with a bunch of these? I digress. Also, the Tomato Olive Danish and Garlic Cheese Croissant, both savory, picked out for the purpose of taking-out were paired with a homemade chicken soup that made for a meal worthy of note. Their Sweet Potato Pie is actually a rectangular looking pastry that defies its appearance. Loaded with flavor, the lovely sweetness of the potato mixed with (guessing) sugar and whatever else. Another great choice. There's a large case containing specialty cakes of all kinds that begging to be shown off for a variety of occasions. Impressive. There's a separate area for a wide variety of drinks, and coffee is served but I don't believe there is any espresso in case you're wondering. See my photo. Not necessarily a part of this review, but I'm aware one of the city's food professionals whom I hold in extremely high regard is working this location, though she was not there on the day of my visit. All the more reason this location is going to rock. I wish them well and hope that KFC gets here soon. Only downer, but I can't say I'm surprised, though not enough to ding the 5 stars: ladies, working the counter, please put down your phones. This place is a great spot to grab a midday snack. It's pretty far from the city center. However, what you get in exchange is an abundance of space. All of the pastries are self serve; mostly in the middle of the cafe. We split a Redbean Donut, a Vanilla Cream Donut, and a Caramel Apple Pie pastry. I also got an Iced Lavender Latte. The pastries were all excellent. I (almost always) think most pastries are too sweet. I think that a lot of companies use sugar to mask an inferior product. Almost exactly how steak houses use A1 (or similar) sauces to mask substandard cuts of meat; but I digress. However, these were perfect. Just sweet enough to enhance the flavor but not so sweet as to mask the flavor. I will definitely return. read more

I was so surprised but so happy after stopping in! There's no other place like this in Lawrence, with such a large assortment of pastries, featuring French and Korean items. Pastries run about $2.50-5.00 each. I believe the full size cakes were $35, and coffee/tea are priced as you'd reasonably expect. I like that you can stop in to enjoy a coffee and a pastry with a friend, or you can get some larger items like a loaf of bread to go. I LOVE Tous Les Jour! The bakery items are absolutely wonderful. Never purchased any item I did not think was exceptional. I particularly like the Milk Bread. Sooo yummy. I purchased a birthday cake for my 80+ uncle and it was simply Devine! I mentioned it was for my uncle's birthday celebration and they gave me special Korean Candles. These candles were tall and each year for the birthday celebrant equaled one inch. Instead of 88 candles we had 14 candles! The staff were excited as I was when I purchased the very special birthday cake! When I need a special thank you for neighbors who helped, I say "thank you" with gifts from Tous Les Jour! There is also an area set aside for customers to have a pastry break with a friend and a quiet and comfortable reading area for someone who wants to enjoy some self time with coffee, pastries, and a good book! read more

Haven't tried the cakes yet but based on how good the pastries are I am sure they are worth trying. One of my favorites is the ham and cheese croissant, the braided tomato and (feta I think) pastry as well as the blueberry or the cherry and Greek Yogurt pastries. This bakery is in the former location of the Blue Moose restaurant. We very much liked Blue Moose for dinner and were very sorry to see it go. Tous les Jours is not a place for dinner and not so good for lunch either. But it is an excellent place for coffee and pastry. My boyfriend and I have been wanting to check out this place for a while now and finally got around to it. It's very cute and French vibes inside for sure. We tried a chocolate filled pastry and the bread was amazing, and chocolate filling was very good too. We also tried the Croque Monsieur (I tried this in Europe when I was abroad and loved it, so my hopes were high. However it was quite cold, I was surprised that it was not in a heater or that it was not heated to be served. So it was a bit disappointing. And also not the same as in Europe, it seemed as though it was a slice of Kraft cheese. The flavor was pretty decent considering. I would like to try this again warmed up but the way it was served was a 6/10. The place was very clean and the staff was friendly. I would definitely come back here but again, ask to have my Croque heated. The pricing seemed reasonable $3.95 for the Croque, I can't remember how much the coffee or pastry was but it came to ~$13. The items we bought were good but would have been better if they didn't put sweet items in the same case as savory items. It's a little off putting to have your savory item taste like it has sugar in it and to open a case to get sweet items and get a whiff of garlic or meat. I ordered a spinach feta pastry that tasted like it had a sugar wash on it. I'd be more likely to go back if they would separate the items so the smells don't blend. read more
