Well. The strawberry-filled empanada and french vanilla Creme filled croissant were out of this world good. The lamination that Carlos was able to get on the pastry was exceptional and both were delicious. I give 5 stars because of that alone. The interior of the cafe was a bit chaotic and needs some immediate attention but I'm willing to overlook that for the quality of the product coming out. We will be back! read more

Real French pastries! Le Petit Bon Bon is only open Friday-Sunday, so visiting requires some patience, but it is absolutely worth it. I picked up a butter croissant, pain au chocolate, and a strawberry croissant. They were all still warm from the oven & smelled divine. Buttery, flaky, and just the right amount of filling in the filled ones. I don't drink coffee much but it looked like they had a nice setup for pour over. The atmosphere is very casual, with an open kitchen & the gentleman who owns it doing duty as pastry chef & cashier. Can't wait to go back! read more

Yelp is mistaken. LePetit Bon Bon IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS. But their open times are only FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY as of this date. I'm hoping there will be more days since this is without a doubt the most authentic French baked goods anywhere around here. There are some cons tho: the photos on this website are not the current location. Their location is hard to find unless you know the little strip malls on Fairlawn. And they just HAVE to upgrade their interior ! Even when I opened the door and went in, I couldn't find where the show case was ! I'm hoping they just moved to this location and will be doing some fun things to it......colors, openness, tables, chairs.......the decor is lacking. Enjoyed the sweet and savory pastries! Tried chorizo, potato and onion and also a chocolate croissants. Cinnamon twists were a real treat! The dough for all of the treats was unlike any I have ever had. The ambiance is understated and comfortable. I enjoyed learning that this is a father and son shop. The father makes the pastries and the son who enjoys roasting coffee handles the coffees and teas. What a jem for Topeka! read more

Husband and I went to the one on Fairlawn. For being a coffee Bistro there was no place to sit for for a cup of coffee and nothing in the pastry cases to order. I thought this was a coffee house. The ambience could use a little work, but nothing that a full morning crowd wouldn't fix. You are a Yelper because you appreciate artistry and craftsmanship over drive-through mediocrity. LPBB has all of the essential ingredients to be a great café. Like "Field of Dreams," they built it for people who need a bit of beauty in their lives--to slow down and have a metaphorical "catch". Loved Le Petit Bon Bon! They had a great selection of patries like croissants and turnovers. I actually got their lemon cake. The buttercream icing was so melt-in-your-mouth delicious I could hardly handle it. Also, they had surprisingly good coffee! They offer pourovers, chemexes, and (I believe) drip. The manager Carlos was also very helpful in choosing which beans we wanted for our coffee that afternoon. Being partial to window seating they had some up front, otherwise they had loads of seating (about 50 seats) in the main part of the restaurant. Very tasty, very fun, and somewhat surprising for Topeka! Definitely give it a try! read more

Delicious quiche, some of the best I've had. I asked for strong decaf coffee not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised by the deep rich yummy taste. Many yummy looking pastries in the case. I sampled the cinnamon twists, delicious. Will be back to sample the rest. read more

I've been here twice, so far. The first time, I had a cinnamon twist and an apple empanada. The second time, I had two meat empanadas, a rugelach, and a cup of coffee. Their pastries are quite good. The coffee was excellent. They use a pour over method on coffee that is freshly roasted and fresh ground. I saw a couple Chemex brewers, but they weren't in use. Maybe they use them if someone wants a small pot of coffee. I would have liked the empanadas containing meat to be warmer. They were warmed in a toaster, but could have stayed in there 3x as long. I would like to see them use a toaster oven, a small salamander, or small convection oven. If they were to service a brisk lunch crowd, it could prove difficult using toasters. It is nice to see something like this in Topeka as the French pastries are not easily found around here. I look forward to going back. read more

So good! The pastries I have had the pleasure of eating are completely delicious. I had a pour over once and it was some of the best coffee in town. I just wish the atmosphere was better and the coffee set up was a little better. A little rearranging and decor will make this an amazing shop. read more

Disappointing. Quiche is precooked and heated in a microwave. It was soggy and cold in the middle. Soup is also cooked ahead and overheated in a microwave. Salad lettuce was old iceberg and brown. Had to return it. Was told it was the last one. Maybe offer another choice instead of serving something where the freshness is questionable. read more

A little disappointed by this spot. First, they didn't do much in terms of decor. I thought it'd have more of a cafe vibe and some French accents. It's a generic space that's REALLY poorly organized in terms of space. There's a wide area to seat behind the counter which I find bizarre. We rolled in around 10:30AM and it was pretty picked over. I know pastries take time, but I'd have assumed it would have been a little more restocked especially since it's more of a breakfast spot. I got the mushroom and spinach quiche and it was okay. Hope to try some croissants and other pastries next time to get a better idea of their flavor. read more
