Man, who didn't pay the fruit filling guy? I remember when I was a young, strapping Jayhawk, I'd go in here at 1 in the A.M. and I'd have a strudel and a fritter, and would be DELIGHTED to nearly eat a full apple in the process with as much as the saints of old decided to inject into these wonderful concoctions. Boy, have times changed! This was little more than sugar caked on sugar, with 3 pieces of apple per near $2 item. Has inflation hit that hard? Listen, let me know if you need apples; I got a guy, I can get as many apples as you can carry. Good deal too, just let me know. This got me wondering if the wonder years of collegiate yore are more imaginative than I let on to myself. I remember the excitement of KU, and the donuts to follow. I make it a point anytime I'm grazing the myelin sheath of Lawrence, I do right by my past to head 3 miles from any direction to acquire a box of heart attack memory from my alma donut mater. I think I'll give us some space. We need it. My heart needs it after that sugar explosion. Subtly in food is desired. Quit paying the sugar guy, and start paying the apple guy again. Like I said, I'll get ol' Johnny Appleseed to swing by, just let me know.

Donuts and pastries are always great, highly recommend! Plus it's open 24/7, how could you beat that?!

We had Munchers as the dessert option for our October 2024 wedding. It was easy to place the larger order in-store & coordinate having our planner pick them up her way to the venue. The doughnuts were absolutely delicious and all of our guests raved about them! Munchers always has been and will continue to be the best. You just can't beat the cream cheese & strawberry cream cheese doughnuts.

My husband and I have this weird thing were we crave doughnuts at strange times of the day or night. And NO it is not for the reason you maybe thinking. We just really like baked goods. We were visiting our daughter at KU, and mentioned we wished there was some place with a 24hr doughnut shop. She said we have a place! And recommended Munchers. From what I understand it is a Lawrence staple and very popular with the KU students. They are located in a strip mall across from a bowling alley. The shop has almost a homey feel. And the lady who served us was very sweet and helpful. They have a good selection of doughnuts, cakes, cookies and other pastries. The prices are reasonable. The doughnuts have a good rise and are light and fluffy. The only downside, per my husband, is they did not have crullers (his favorite). But he was pleased with the cinnamon rolls (his 2nd fave) and cinnamon doughnuts. My daughter likes the cream cheese doughnuts. My favorite out of this trip was the strawberry knot. We will be returning next time we are in Lawrence.

Very yummy and affordable baked good and cakes!!

Do not eat at munchers, unless you want to be addicted to their pastries, cookies and cakes. WOW! Kinda scared that I found this place. The goodies are as beautiful as they are delicious and this place is open 24 hours a day. That could be really DANGEROUS for your waistline. The counter service is quick & efficient, and the prices are great! Highly recommended.

Classic. The cream cheese donuts are so damn good. Only "complaint" would be that I wish they had better coffee.

I would like to know if you guys do cakes as well as pastries? I have a great boss and our group of people would like to do something special for him. If you do, do cakes could you give me a pricelist with size and how many persons served? Your help…

Yes! Unfortunately, we do not have an online pricing list as each cake is going to be different depending on the individual ordering. Please give us a call at 785-749-4324 between 6am and noon to speak with our cake decorator. Thanks!

After learning about…read moreall the sourdough donut hype, watching viral reels on instagram and seeing those delicious donut photos, I had to try it out and today was the day!!! I arrived at 6.45 am and there were already around 60+ people waiting on a Friday morning .. crazy right.. I heard Saturdays are even worse lol. Finally got to enter the shop at 8.15 am and picked up 6 donuts. I think they rotate flavors often or have one new flavor every week, so the ones I got were Bavarian, Blood orange raspberry, Pandan coconut, Biscoff cream and Hot honey pimento cheese. Honestly after taking a bite from each one, the wait time, the hype, all those viral reels actually made soo much sense haha. The donuts are packed with cream but still feel so light and airy, almost feels like biting into a cloud cake. If I had to pick favorites then it would be the Spicy pimento cheese and the Bavarian. The bakery is open Fridays and Saturdays, Fridays starting at 8 AM and Saturdays from 9 AM and the donuts sell out by 10 am. I also heard the owner mention they might open Thursdays soon!!! Each donut is around $5 plus, and I didn't really mind paying that much because the quality is top notch. I even saw the owners chatting with people in line which was nice, they seemed pretty friendly. Loved the ambience inside the shop too, especially the huge white hanging lanterns and how clean and simple the space felt. Overall, these donuts are a hitttt. If you're planning to go early morning, try to get in line by 6:30 AM or at least by 7 AM. If you do end up after the store opens, just know the line gets really long and there's a chance you might miss out. Good Luck!

The restaurant itself is beautiful inside -- a cozy mix of rustic and modern that creates a really inviting atmosphere. Service started a little slow, though our waitress became more attentive once she came by. We mentioned it was our first visit, so I was a bit surprised there wasn't much guidance on the menu or any recommendations. At one point I asked about the two kinds of fries (I love fries!), and the explanation was simply that they were "fancy fries," without much detail on flavors or differences. We started with drinks and the Brussels sprouts appetizer. The sprouts were actually very good, with a nice balance in the sauce, and both the wine and sangria were refreshing. Unfortunately, dinner is where things went downhill. Our meals -- a steak and a gluten-free chicken sandwich -- took about 45 minutes to arrive, which felt long for relatively simple dishes. I had asked about the gluten-free bun since they can sometimes be dry, but didn't receive much insight beyond "it's gluten free," and sadly it was indeed very dry. The chicken itself lacked flavor, though the goat cheese cilantro sauce helped make it somewhat enjoyable. The fries looked homemade and delicious but arrived cold. The steak was cooked as requested, but it didn't have much flavor beyond the mushrooms on top. The broccoli side was tasty, and the potatoes were good, though it on a bed of Some kind of cheese sauce that wasn't quite to our liking. Overall, the space and gluten-free availability were promising, and the appetizers and drinks were enjoyable, but the food execution and service details didn't quite meet expectations for us this visit.
