I was a bit disappointed in the size of cupcake; the cake itself was fairly small, and overall was almost half-icing. I had a Maple Black Walnut cupcake. The black walnut stood out more flavor-wise, and was good. The cream cheese frosting was unexpected, but went decently well with the cake (I admit I'm not a huge fan of cream cheese frosting), though there was definitely too much for me. The ingredients are conveniently listed on the back of each wrapper, and it is nice to note that most are organic. This jives well being at the Farmers' Market.

I last visited the Lawrence farmers market in late November to purchase a ton of her sweets, and they are so immaculately created and taste OISHI! You can see she has expanded her products on the web site. She will be at the Lawrence Holiday Market on December 12th and will also sell some of her treats at The Merc Co-op in Lawrence starting early next year. The fact that she can ship her beautiful sweets means her artistry is accessible outside of Kansas! If you love Japanese sweets I highly encourage you to give these a try. She uses local produce from other farmers to make her goods, including chestnuts and purple sweet potatoes. The launch of the online business is a huge step and ensures that Japanese sweets are made here and available everywhere!
