Food Quality The roast beef dip featured tender beef piled on crusty bread with rich au jus for dipping, making it a standout comfort meal. The clubhouse packed fresh veggies, cheese, and meats into a hearty stack--both were generously portioned and far above standard food court fare. Price Breakdown No sides included, yet two sandwiches pushed past $40, which feels steep for mall dining without extras like fries or soup. Quality ingredients shine through, but it's a splurge that might give budget shoppers pause. Crowd and Vibe Very few customers were around during the visit, despite the lively food court setting next to spots like Cazba Persian Grill. The modern counter setup and quick service suggest it's more of a hidden gem for those seeking elevated sandwiches over fast-food speed. Ideal For Chachi's suits shoppers or office workers craving gourmet-level sandwiches without leaving the mall, but the price and low foot traffic leave it feeling niche--who's the target beyond occasional indulgence seekers?

Focacciaza caught my eye as there was a small line up and parasol set up outside their industrial kitchen space in Strathcona. That, and did I mention I was starving? The offerings are simple: loaded focaccia (garden / cheese / toppings), a soup, grilled cheese, and daily meat or veg sandwich. I left the specifics to Focacciaza and asked for the meat sandwich; I was told it was roast beef today - perfect, I'm not super picky but it sounded wholesome. Bread was moist and light, but hearty enough for the fillings: roast beef, pickled onions, spinach, smear of mayo. Seasoning was perfect - I demolished that sandwich without actually picking it apart so I apologize if I missed anything / added anything lol Delicious enough that I will stop by again if I were in the area, perhaps on a cooler day for soup and a grilled cheese, or the loaded focaccia! A little pricey considering no seating / takeout only and limited options, hence four stars.

* The Definition of Torpedo *…read more Urban Dictionary has multiple definitions or "Torpedo": - To betray, backstab, diss, or punk someone with the intent of causing harm to their reputation. - When objects or people look beautiful from far away, but dangerous or ugly up close. - A long turd. The menu sounded promising (although overpriced for a food truck) with some nice classic sandwiches on offer. I ordered the "mumia" ($12) - which I have to assume is a play on Mumia Abu-Jamal who is from Philadelphia, home of the cheesesteak? Anyhoo... The description was very cheesesteak like with sirloin beef, pepperjack cheese, sauteed onions and peppers. The addition of garlic aioli moved away from the classic as did the usage of pepperjack instead of provolone. When I unwrapped the sandwich, I was torpedoed with an excessive amount of a watery oily substance dripping all over the place. It got all over everything - not in a good way. Biting into the sandwich was the next torpedoing. The bread was stale. I don't mean day old. I mean stale. Next torpedo: the beef was chewy, gristly, and very oily. The peppers were the best part - but they too were overly oily. Basically each bite gave you a mouthful of stale bread, a piece of oily gristle flavoured by an oily pepper and a drippy oily substance (perhaps a broken aioli?). I couldn't eat the bread. Tried picking off the meat and veggies to eat, but gave up as they were too awful on their own. Photos: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/tasty-torpedo-vancouver?select=aorGigi_39ldUheXPUynsQ#aorGigi_39ldUheXPUynsQ and http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/tasty-torpedo-vancouver?select=i8BEF8GCeNEZMql6nK1uYA#i8BEF8GCeNEZMql6nK1uYA So I'm left concluding that I was served an overpriced torpedo. In other words, I feel torpedoed that this food truck is a torpedo that serves torpedos!

There was a small line when I approached the truck initially but their service was quick giving customers their sandwich within about 2-4 minutes of order, not entirely sure what the standard is for food trucks but for me that's good. The lady up front taking the orders was very friendly and was happy to help answer our questions. They only offered a few options but what I had to try was the jerk chicken sandwich as I had stopped a girl just minutes before and attempted to waft hers. Again service was fairly quick and I receive my sandwich within a few minutes. I don't think the picture I've posted will do it any justice but this baby was a beauty. The bun tasted quite fresh and almost melted in my mouth, the chicken and enough spice and flavour and the rest was just bomb. It is quite filling I found which is what you're looking for, good bang for buck. Definitely gonna track these down every time I'm downtown. Amazing experience for my taste buds.
