Ordered a Chicken Bahn Mi from here. I enjoyed it but it was kind of pricey (around $12). The sauce which I believe was hoisen sauce made the sandwich very flavorful. It was strong that I could taste it after eating the sandwich. So make sure you have a mint handy for after your meal. They offer a variety of sandwiches and I am excited to try the others. Ordered from Chachi's for the first time today. I got the Hot Philly Sandwich and it was to die for! It was extremely fresh, hot and tasty. The only negatives were that, even though it wasn't very busy, it took a long time- a really long time - to get my sandwich. There were 4 employees who looked busy but people seemed to be waiting a long time regardless of what they ordered. My second issue is that I think my sandwich was missing the jalapeño and was therefore less spicy than I had hoped. I'll round up my solid 3.5 since the reviews below me are so dismal. I had the smoked meat sandwich today. It was delicious! Bread could have been toastier but the meat was excellent and the pickles were perfect. I think $13 was on the high side of reasonable, but it was tasty so I would get it again. However, the service was monotone and unfriendly. They need some serious customer service training. Unfortunately these days, the food alone won't be enough to stay open, and unless they step up the service, I don't see them lasting more than a year. Hope they can change their attitude and at the very least, fake a smile. read more

Second review (August 2019): Got the chicken bah mi ($12) Chicken breast, hoisin marinade, spicy Asian sesame, garlic aioli, pickled carrot, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño. The short version of this review would be that it's pretty much parallel to my first review. However the stand out in this sandwich is that I like how they kept the ingredients to a minimum... so aside from the chicken, really the sandwich only had pickled carrots, red onions, cilantro and jalepeños. I'm not saying this as a negative point, I'm saying it as a positive, because what I feel is the highlight of the sandwich are all the sauces! There are 3 different sauces used, but boy do they work well together! They blended together really nicely! Again, the freshness of the 4 veggies paired with the 3 sauces, YES, I recommend! And again, you might think $12 is pretty pricey for a sandwich, but you get what you pay for in this case. The flavour profile is totally worth it. First review: Got the tandoori chicken sandwich ($11) Tandoori chicken, red onion, green pepper, arugula, cilantro, mango chutney, citrus crema. I love everything going into this sandwich (minus the green peppers, but I will say that I forgot they were in there until I saw it, then I started picking them out, but in all honesty, all the other flavours masked the flavour of the green pepper, and I will admit that it did add a good crunch). Anyways, the green peppers aside, the first obvious greatness of this sandwich was the bread. It was nice and warm and the sandwich itself was heated well. The tandoori chicken was incredibly well seasoned and I've mentioned this before in other reviews, that I like having a bit more sauce and this sandwich was no different. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they didn't put enough, I'm just saying they didn't put enough for *my personal preference*. The amount of cilantro/arugula balanced well with the rest of ingredients and flavours. Today, I came in for the second time after a below average experience on opening day. I thought I would give it another chance. I ordered a Mac and cheese but it was left in the microwave for too long ( I don't know why they were using a microwave to cook Mac and cheese.) It was slightly above room temperature and the cheese was the consistency of water. I ordered a sandwich and it was burnt when it came out of the oven. I saw the workers debating whether to serve it or not but they decided to anyways. Not to mention my Georgia Peach Lemonade didn't taste like peaches, but maybe it's not supposed to, I don't know. Overall, I think it has great potential but it is a complete mess and I wouldn't recommend coming here in the time being until they're better organized. I think I'll stick with Subway for now. I come to Coquitlam Centre often - a few months ago some of the long-standing food court establishments closed their doors including Arby's (sad), Chachi's is one of the new comers that I've been wanting to try. Sandwiches and subs are an interesting category of "cuisine"...if you do it right, with simple good ingredients it can be mind blowing, and charging 10-13$ per can be palatable. If you somehow mess it up, customers will remember with aplomb that they just overpaid for 2 pieces of bread, and some stuff in between. Unfortunately my first experience with Chachi's having their smoked meat, falls in the second category. I won't go into the details of the experience, because I believe that every business does their best and my personal taste is just that, personal. I still want to give their other sandwiches a try - but in the unglamorous world of bread, and stuff in between, it has to be very good and affordable to stand out. read more

I have tried so hard to like this place. I've tried a number of sandwiches and they really are just blah. The buns they use are terrible and when they heat them up in their ovens they become unchewable. Once they cool down they dry up so bad I almost chipped a tooth. My last go today was their Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. I'm sure it was made with some frozen chicken fingers and rolled in some kind of "hot" sauce. Not good at all. And again I'm couldn't even eat the ends of the sandwich because the bun was so hard. I give up on these guys. Meat & Bread is so much better. read more

I am logging on to update my review. I tried to return this week to see if anything had improved since my last visit being that they had only first opened when I tried it. There was nobody lined up or waiting for food during the lunch rush (which says a lot) so I figured that it would be no problem for me to get a sandwich. There were two girls (staff) talking but they did not acknowledge me despite making eye contact with me. They continued on talking. I waited 5 minutes until I gave up and left after being blatantly ignored. I wonder why the place is dead! Sorry if that sounded harsh but I will definitely not be back. This sandwich is essentially made up of tender pulled pork with sweet chilli bbq sauce and chachi's house made mac and cheese between two halves of a bun fresh from a local bakery. The thing I liked the most about the sandwich was the mac and cheese. It was creamy and the macaroni pasta was cooked to a soft texture but not mushy. They also added black pepper and some spices to it which I liked since it added a bit of a unique kick. I wish it could've been more cheesy but it's okay. The pulled pork is initially sweet but has a spicy kick at the end. It also has a nice tender texture which I really enjoyed. The meat was full of flavour as the sweet chilli bbq sauce was infused inside the meat. The bread was hearty and artisanal which tied all the elements of the mac and cheese and the pulled pork together. It balanced out the potentially strong concentrated flavours of the pulled pork. Each bite of the sandwich had a bit of pulled pork, mac and cheese and the fresh hearty bread. I would recommend this sandwich if you can handle or like spicy foods, it's not TOO spicy but it does carry a bit of heat. I would probably order this again! (btw the reason why my hands are so red in the second picture is because I was walking in the rain and they were super duper cold, you probably don't care but yah) read more
