Haida Sandwich recently opened in the heart of Coquitlam's downtown core, near Coquitlam Centre, on Pinetree Way, where the old Mochi Donuts used to be located.
I tried two sandwiches: the Haida Hot, rated 4/5 and priced at $17.99, and the Haida Royal, rated 3/5 at $21.99. I also ordered a small pizza, the Haida Pizza, which was rated 3/5 and costs $16.99.
Both sandwiches were good; the bread was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. They were a decent size and made neatly, the addition of hickory stick chips inside the sandwiches is a interesting touch.
The pizza was okay, but for its small size, it would be best suited for a child to eat on their own. The size reminded me of the pizza that McDonald's used to offer, and at $17, I found it a bit steep.
Overall, the service was good. The staff recommended the most popular items, which was helpful since it was my first visit to Haida. However, I do think the prices are a bit high for what you get. read more
