Great experience for my first time at Zaxby's (any Zaxby's ever!). The person who took my order was very friendly, and the quality of the food (10 piece chicken strips and fries) was good for the price even thought it was a bit higher than most fast food places. I ate inside the restaurant and it was cleaner than most fast food restaurants. The food took longer than most fast food places but was worth it, and they made sure to give me extra sauce. Zaxby's is a good option for a fast place to eat. Service is friendly and efficient. The parking lot isn't the easiest to get in and out of though. What a joke for advertising a discount when you can't provide it. I went to this location today to try and place an order for a zax pax. The only way to receive the discount was to "order online" or via app. I tried ordering via app but the app didn't cooperate and my wife tried from home also. The lady at the front counter was nice and tried to be helpful - kudos to her. So this review is for the franchise and company...do better. Zaxby's used have deceny food for a competitive price. I went there today for some hot sauced wings and got wings with virtually no sauce on them, when I got home I had to add my own sauce, The also have started a ridiculous policy to rip off customers of rounding up to the nickel instead of using pennies (still legal currency) and told specifically they round up not to the nearest nickel. Compliments to our local Zaxby's. The food is, well, the food. Pretty much what you'd expect for an outlet of this fast food chain. The food is hot and tasty. What struck me on this visit is the level of service. It took the order taker only about 5 minutes to move thru the line of 5 people in front of me. She was smiling, engaging and made me feel like she appreciated me being here. A customer who was served prior to me came up to the counter with a sandwich which was dressed with the wrong sauce. No questions asked, the customer was told "I'm sorry for our mistake. Please keep the incorrect sandwich and we'll make up a fresh one". And then the cashier asked the kitchen to re-make the sandwich next. She apologized AGAIN when delivering the fresh sandwich. THIS, friends, is how service should be. The dining area is spotlessly clean. Kudos for Zaxby's for staffing the dining room with a person to keep things clean. Lofty kudos to the retiree-aged staffer who clearly takes pride in keeping things gleaming... all while thanking every customer as he moved thru sweeping and wiping. Very small portions and inflated prices!!! I posted a complaint on the Zaxby's website as instructed to do so. My complaint was ignored. It costed me $16 for a salad and drink. The salad had about a cup and a half of lettuce and even less meat on it. I could go to Outback Steak House and get all you can eat soup and salad for less money!!! Do better Zaxby's !!!!! I've been here several times for wings. I saw that they now have Boneless General Tso's Chicken so I thought I would give them a try. The image on their sign shows the chicken covered in sauce. This wasn't what I got. My pieces barely had any sauce on them and the flavor was almost nonexistent. I will try them again just in case this was an error then post an update. Also... My husband picked up takeout tonight and said that there was about 10 workers just hanging out, not a great look. Then he came home with this. Supposed to be teriyaki boneless. Good food served fast. The salads are delicious, the Big Zax snack meals are a good value. $5 for three strips, fries, Texas toast and a drink. Restaurant was spotless, employees were both very friendly. Quiet atmosphere, yummy food served hot, the cool drink machine with tons of options. Lots of sauces to pick from - zax sauce is good and the teriyaki sauce is great! Drive thru is fast as well. Overall, a solid option if your hankering for chicken strips or a good salad with lots of nice additions (tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, cheddar cheese). read more

I wish I could give zero stars for this one. I used to frequent this Zaxby's before the pandemic hit. Then I moved too far away and only stop in when visiting friends nearby. Today I stopped on the way home and got their 20 piece wings. Hmmmm. Used to be awesome. Every time we went it was really good. Today, not only were the pieces T I N Y compared to what they used to serve but they were so overcooked they were hard and dry. About was inedible. And what normally fed three people was barely enough for two and we had to cook to supplement it. Not good. I will never trust them for wings again and may never go there again. This was a waste of nearly $25! Now, the employees were friendly and very nice. No complaints at all there. But the wings were atrocious. read more

We've dined here before many times and this location is hit or miss. Last night was a huge miss. My husband picked up our large order. It was handed to him so for once he didn't check it but no one was there so he thought it was the right order. Drove 20 min home to find out it was not the right order and food no one here would eat. So he drove back to get the right order. There was slight pushback when he got there but the manager gave him cookies with the order to try to make things right. Got home, everyone ate. I was the only one who had spicy dipping sauce. I was also the only one who stayed up all night with the worst case of food poisoning I have ever experienced. Fried chicken is an art, and it is incredibly difficult to distance yourself from the Gods of fried chicken. Went here, and tried there chicken strips meal, but the sauces and the fries were so underwhelming I forgot I was even eating a chained restaurant. Ordered 9 items on line. Arrived in the time stated and order was ready - but 2 sandwiches were missing! Explained problem, and then took 14 minutes (with just one person in line) to make the missing sandwiches. Finally got them, and one was made wrong - was to be plain and they made it with everything on it. Waited another 2-3 minutes and got the correct sandwich. Ultimately took 30 minutes! Received a half-hearted "sorry about that" but nothing else. Pdq and Chick fil a would've been apologetic and given gift cards or cookies. Very poor service. read more

I don't usually review "fast food" restaurants but Zach I believe he is the assistant manager was so attentive. We like our wings extra well done, and he ensured that they were and hand delivered our plates to the table. He went above and beyond providing us with blue cheese and a little cup to put it in for dipping. When we were finished he retrieved our trash. Okay, not only was the food great (try the buffalo bleu chicken salad or the club sandwich), but the service is spectacular. I dined for lunch on a Tuesday with my toddler. She chugged her chocolate milk (a rare treat for her) and consequently vomited all over the booth and me. The cashiers were so helpful, gracious, and unaffected by the yucky ordeal. They promptly came over with a mop and bleach and towels and napkins. It was cleaned up in no time. They acted like it was no big deal and made me comfortable/at home. One time we went and the boneless wings looked weird and the manager explained "oh it looks like that because we went to the store this morning to get it and that's why they look like that, we had ran out this morning" like what...? A couple of times after they have forgotten to give us our drinks !!!! That we PAID For. Today my bf went and he explained there was two drinks on the receipt and the manager said no I only see one on the receipt and did not give him his other drink .... tell me why he gets all the way home and we both SEE that there is two drinks listed !! This place is not worth $10. I might *might* pay $5 for the 4 chicken meal. Not more. If not for hanging with a friend I would have never bought anything here with those prices. And the food was definitely not good enough to warrant such high prices. I got a 4 chicken meal and with chips instead of cole slaw. This means 4 chicken fingers, some fries and some basic chips on the plate. The little chicken fingers were not big pieces, they were about 2 to 3 inches long. More like chicken fingertips, lol. They also included a piece of white bread buttered and browned on one side (a cultural thing?). It was ok. The chips were ok but undercooked. Some were still flimsy and uncooked. I'm not sure if the chips were bbq or crab chips, the flavor was very slight. The ketchup is in the big steel container you push into those little cups. So I think we can safely assume it is not ketchup but actually just red-colored high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavoring (nothing special there, no fast food restaurants have "real" ketchup, it's all chemical poison HFCS). So I guess you can't really dock them any points for not having real ketchup. The meat tasted fine but not the caliber of chicken like I can get a giant bag of chicken strips from Costco/Sam's Club for just $10 and healthier. In other words, I can get 10 meals from Sam's for the price I paid for 1 meal at this chicken place. Except the chicken here was small, while the bag of chicken I got from Sam's are 3 times as large each, so really I get about 20 to 30 equivalent meals if I cook myself and healthier for the same price as just one (1) unhealthy fast food meal from this chicken place. Plus, at home I can use my own real ketchup and sauces, not red-colored liquid poison high fructose corn syrup. The wait was long too, if you factor in the drive there and the wait, it's actually faster to toss my own chicken in my toaster oven at home and wait 20 minutes for it to cook than it is to get from this "fast food". So it's not even the "fast" part of fast food. My wait must have been at least 10 minutes, maybe a little less, I wasn't counting. All I know is I felt like I was standing there forever watching other people getting their food waiting for mine. Sure, this place is ok. The service was good, even if they water tasted horrible - I had to bring my own water because the water out of the machine was awful. It tasted like tap water. It probably was tap water. Even out of the water/ice machine (soda is poison). So the food was alright, not bad. Typical fast food quality food, unhealthy, dangerous to your health, will kill you slowly, and with bad tasting water. Chicken tasted like chicken, of course is fried and cooked in the most unhealthy way. Potatoes are potatoes, but of course also fried and cooked in the most unhealthy way possible. If you don't care about your health, this place is great, except it's also twice the price of the value they provide. $6 for the meal I purchased would even be reasonable, but not $10. Want fast food slowly and expensively? This is the place for you. Of course, my review is skewed because I actually care about my health, so it isn't completely fair that my honest and informed review is honestly reviewing a chain fast food restaurant designed to be unhealthy. This isn't entirely the fault of the chain, this is also the fault of all the people who choose to eat at such chains hence allowing them to profit and exist, and a government which allows the chains to poison the people without consequence. Hey, at least I gave them 2 stars. Why 2 stars? It's healthier than McDonalds (although barely) and the service was friendly if not fast. The employees asked a couple times if everything was ok, which improved my experience. If it was McDonald's I would have given it 1 star, so at least it gets 2. But it's no Chipotle. read more

I've driven by this Zaxby's a million times and never once stopped. Today I decided to eat there for lunch and that was a good decision. The store is very clean, the cashiers were friendly and the food was fresh and hot!! I am a big fan of Zaxby's and have yet to visit one that was disappointing. Just picked up 3 meals to go and was looking forward to a Zaxby's meal until I carried it from my car to the house. The drink trays are useless and couldn't hold a single drink. All 3 spilled and I ended up cleaning my vehicle and floor while my food got cold. I would expect a tray that could at least hold a single drink. Very disappointed! read more

I love Zaxby's, but this particular location has not reflected the business well. First occasion, went through drive-through and received a Cajun club among other items. When I got home, there was no chicken in the sandwich! When I called, the manager assured me that they would give me a free one if I returned. Free?? I didn't get the one I already paid for. Second visit in the same week, drive-through again, they messed up the order again. I walked in to get the order corrected, they started barking at me to put on a mask. I didn't have a mask; I'm asthmatic and can't wear them. They demanded I pull my shirt up over my face (which of course, would expose my fat belly). I asked them to simply correct the order or return my money. They refused and demanded that I leave the building. Then THEY CALLED THE POLICE! Wow. Customer service is definitely dead at Zaxby's WF. I've eaten at many Zaxby's locations. I like Zaxby's. I also know some franchises are better than others.That said, nearly all I've visited have done better than this one. Let's take the 20-piece chicken finger item. Fingers only. No sides. You'll pay over $20 here (!), and you'll get very little. Who knows what happens behind the scenes to get to this result. What I know is that I found myself over $20 poorer for a paltry collection of tiny, dry, over-breaded chicken "pinkies." Weren't freshly made either. They'd spent many minutes under the lamp, and the place wasn't busy. I should've crossed the 200 yards to Bojangles for a cheaper, bigger, and better meal. This Wake Forest location doesn't represent the Zaxby's brand well at all and should work to improve immediately. read more

This was my 2nd visit ever to a Zaxby's, the 1st one being the one in Knightdale. on my visit the service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. The food seemed to be a lot more salty than I remember the Knightdale restaurant being. Don't get me wrong, I love salt, but it should be used to enhance flavor, not cover it up. I will possibly try this location again sometime, but for now, I'll head over to the 2 other chicken focused restaurants down the road. read more
