I visited the location at 1960 and Fallbrook and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Initially, I had to return because my order was missing the toast. While I understand the confusion regarding the egg was my mistake, the overall quality of the meal was unacceptable--the lettuce was wilted and the tomatoes were soggy. After returning, it took approximately 15 minutes for a manager to assist me. Both Liz and the manager displayed a nonchalant attitude and did not offer an apology. Instead, I was simply asked if I wanted another salad. When I expressed my concerns, I was told the items come premade and was given multiple excuses. At that point, I declined the offer for a replacement. Given the inconvenience, poor food quality, and lack of customer service, I did not feel confident accepting another meal from this location. My son and I stopped in here after a day of shopping at the outlets nearby. We wanted something quick but also new to us. We don't have any Zaxby's on our side of town, so we decided to try it out. The place was empty and kind of dirty. The floors were dirty and there were not many clean tables to choose from. The staff was friendly. We both decided on the boneless wings and tenders combo. You can't really go wrong with that right? It ended up being a solid meal, nothing mind blowing by any means. We also got an order of white cheddar cheese curds to share. These tasted pretty strange and we couldn't really put our finger on what cheese flavor we were tasting. Rarely do I ever eat at a fast food restaurant. I despise McDonald's, Whataburger, Chik-Fil-A, Burger King, Wendy's, Jack-in-the-Box, Taco Bell, KFC, and other similar food chains. However, I absolutely downright love Zaxby's Chicken Tenders! They're crispy, meaty, juicy, and tender. A little on the salty side but I always eat them with my own salad that I bring from home. It helps to cut the salty flavor by eating them in a raw green salad. They are not overly breaded lacking meat, as opposed to other fast food chains that offer chicken tenders on their menu. I have had horrible experiences in the past when ordering chicken tenders with all the breaded crust and no meat, lol. As far as their dining area, I have dined in a few times in the past. The dining area was always clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming enough. However, I mainly use the drive-thru when I'm on lunch break at work. It's quick and the tenders are always always always served hot and delicious! The drive-thru staff are always nice and friendly enough. As far as the rest of their menu, I cannot comment because I only ever eat the chicken tenders whenever I need a protein for my salad for lunch which is not quite often. So this review is rated and based strictly on their hot, juicy, meaty, and delicious chicken tenders, their friendly customer service skills, and the cleanliness of their dining area. After exiting the drive-thru, I had opened up the small box, which contained two chicken strips and a very small amount of fries. This meal's portion size was for a toddler and not a kid; eight small fries and one long fry, which all looked miserable. The chicken strips were a good size and looked crispy. I took a bite of a chicken strip and it was VERY salty. I picked up the long fry and it was very limp. Zaxby's used to have the best chicken strips and crispy fries. This Zaxby's establishment is a very poor reflection of how most Zaxby's are. I now understand why there were no other customers at this establishment. read more

So I stopped by this place while I was in the neighborhood. For some reason I couldn't pull up the menu on my phone because I really wanted to see the menu before I got in the Drive-Thru line. Upon entering the drive-thru line looking at the menu it was so extensive and I didn't want to spend too much time in line, so I did see that they had a signature chicken sandwich meal which I ordered. They really need to upgrade their speaker system because I could barely understand the cashier and she could not really understand me. Anyway, after I paid for my food and opened the bag, I noticed that I had a signature bacon club sandwich instead of just a plain signature chicken sandwich. I was not in the mood to have to get back in line to return so I just went ahead and ate the club sandwich. I honestly really couldn't tell how the chicken tasted for all the items that was on the sandwich--cheese tomato pickle bacon...the main thing that I tasted was the salty bacon. I did break up a little piece of the chicken just to see exactly how the chicken tasted it it was okay I did like the crispiness of the batter, but I will say that the flavor was not as good as Chick-fil-A chicken. What I did enjoy where the crinkle french fries. I ordered without any seasoning because I wanted to make sure that they were not overly salty... they were fresh, hot and delicious. The sauce that they used on their chicken sandwich, to me, really did not have any taste. All-in-all the meal was okay... just did not get what I ordered. Nothing to make me want to rate them higher than the obligatory 3 stars for a fast food franchise. So far I have had the chicken fingers, white cheddar bites, original wings, sweet and spicy wings and fries. They are just okay to me. Decent options includes bone in and boneless wings, sandwiches, sliders (nibblers), salads, etc., etc. Still, even with a deal based on the particular day, 4 of the 7 days at least, I still am not compelled to give them a higher rating. If with the tasty Zax sauce...still not compelled to rate them higher. Even with them sending me a card in the mail giving me a free meal deal for joining their email club, still not compelled to give them a higher rating. All in all, it is a fast food franchise...nothing more than that. I am told that they are going to open one in Katy within the year, so I may throw them into my fast food rotation. Went to this place a few weeks ago, with my pal Liz. The ambiance is that of a classy fast food restaurant, complete with nice tables, cozy booths, and different sorts of memorabilia on the walls. I got the BIG ZAX SNAK MEAL, which includes Chicken Fingerz (3 or 5), Texas toast and Zax Sauce, served with Crinkle Fries and a 22 oz. beverage. They have various choices of sauces for dipping or to have your Fingerz mixed in. I chose the two hottest ones. First off, if Zaxby's is going for smaller is better, to help us "toe the line" where it deals with our overeating, then they are on the right track, because the pieces of chicken were pretty darned lean, compared to some places (not very many, but some). The sauces were laden with what seemed like Italian seasoning, which took away from the actual flavor. The Crinkle fries really made the meal, to me. I first fell in love with Zaxby's in Nashville, TN. When I moved down to Texas, I found that they had a competitor. Raising Canes. While I still haven't decided which is better, Zaxby's still holds a special place in my heart when it comes to fast food chicken wings. All Zaxby's, however, are not created equal. I've been to quite a few around the country and have been to some poor ones. This one is pretty great! This Zaxby's is located in a great lunch location on FM1960, very convenient to get to and from pretty quickly. The drive through is a plus if you're in a hurry! When I came into the store today, the place was spotless! Very clean, but not very busy for being a Monday. Maybe it was the rain. My co-workers and I popped in, combined some tables, and ordered some food! I went for the "insane", the spiciest that they had available. I almost went for the step below this, Nuclear, but decided, eh, go big or go home! It was a bit of a disappointment. It didn't even break a sweat! So that was pretty disappointing. So the wings weren't that spicy, but they still were tasty. Everything came out pretty quickly, and we all left satisfied! For drinks, they have one of those incredible coke/mixing machines. I love those because I can get a specialized drink that I have control over! I love that! They also have high chairs for the kids, I didn't have mine with me today, but now that I'm a daddy, I notice that kind of thing! :P The service was good, but they didn't ask me what kind of sauce I wanted with my wings. When they brought out ranch, I asked if they had bleu cheese instead, and they told me it was $0.25 per packet!!! The service stepped it up a notch when I turned down the bleu cheese, because I didn't want to put $0.25 cents on my card, and the worker brought out two complimentary packages anyways. That was unnecessary, but pretty awesome and made my heart swell with joy for Zaxby's!!! Great experience, and I'll definitely be back when I need something local and quick! read more
