The food is great!!! Not overly salted and cooked perfectly!! The fried chicken tastes like home. Only hiccup is our takeout order didn't have the coleslaw which should have been included.

This place is charging for everything!! Gratuity is already added and they have the audacity to ask for another tip when paying not knowing that gratuity is already placed until you get the receipt when you pay then they charge you extra fees when you pay with Card and they can't even spell Pickles correct and the food wasn't even that great Chick Fil A taste better

Since moving to Houston I've been on the hunt for some good wings! If you ever been to Chicago you've heard of Harold's. So when I was looking up wing places this popped up and I wanted to see if it was anything like the Harold's back in Chicago. It was early afternoon when I got there so not too many people. I was in between ordering just the wings and ultimately decided on the wing and shrimp dinner. There's a sign that says at least 25 minutes for wings so I knew it would be a little wait. Got my food in about 35 minutes and I was slightly disappointed when I opened my bag. I asked for lemon pepper and they didn't put any. For as long as I waited I expected my fries to be piping hot and crispy and they were lukewarm and soft. The wings looked like they were refried in old grease and again lukewarm. For as long as I waited and the wings weren't even fresh was again disappointing to say the least. The shrimp were ok but again lukewarm. The mild sauce as well wasn't the best either. For as long of a drive as I took. I expected more. I wouldn't be back.

A flashback.... "Taste of Chicago" Southside created and Southsider eating this Harold's Chicken Crispy Juicy Chicken with Original Recipe Ingredients plus the tasty fries with homemade BBQ sauce!! In a basket on top of a sliced white piece of bread ( Originally Wonderbread) made on the Southeast side of the City!! This tasty experience brought back lotsa memories of my hometown & getting grub at all times of the day and night Plenty of other viddles and goodies to get from here. Just a note, I came here on a Tuesday and this Special comes with Dark Meat Leg and Thigh plus Fries n bread with a 20 minute wait time Worth the wait or call ahead to place your order or phone app?? Small set-up with limited seating.....but with lotsa Chicago Memorabilia and Great Photos all over the place and even on the tables!! Niceeeeeeeee touch Familiar flavors with nostalgic feel to the Shacks of Harold's!! I enjoyed every bite and ate it all up!! Definitely will be back again to get My Chicago Food Fix

Leaving Walmart and hunger hit like a Mac truck. Right in the front of Walmart next to Ace check cashing is Harold's. Upon entry the place wasn't busy at all, most people order then wait I. The car due to the 20-30 min wait. I opted for the 1/2 chicken white ($16) with sauce on the side. After 20 min my food was ready and I headed home to try it out. The food comes in a tray inside of a bag , and here's a tip , make sure to open your bag to let the steam out otherwise the chicken will get soggy. After eating the chicken I don't know if it's a southern thing but the food was just ok. Nothing to write home or go crazy over but just ok. If I'm in the area I may consider again if a Tuesday.

We waited a long time to check this place out based on some of the negative reviews. Harold's Chicken has been part of our family tradition for over 40 years. We actually go back every year to visit a few locations. There's a charge to order online for pick up. You can't place an order over the phone. The size of the wings were shorter than the length of the fries. The service and quality are below the expectations that we are use to. We spent over $30 for 2 people!

That sauce was supposed to be hot however it wasn't and it was sweet

I've been wanting to try Harold's for a few months, I had an opportunity today and it wasn't worth the $. I ordered 4 wings. It came with horrible fries and 1 slice of bread. Chicken was okay, I've had better. Establishment was clean. Young lady taking orders was nice but could use customer service training. I'm good on them!

Needed to find a chicken spot that would be semi close to home. I'm from Maryland...land of old bay, cheesesteaks, crab cakes and chicken boxes--IYKYK. Needless to say i thought Harold's would be the one! The fries aren't Kringle cut, but they were good. The mumbo sauce didn't have that dc kick that i thought it would have and neither did the chicken. I got the 4 wings dinner the CHICAGO way. Didn't taste the lemon pepper, just the sauce on top. So, would i still come here to get my fix...yeah. Will i write a letter back home...no.

Disclaimer: I am not a native of Chicago, so I cannot speak to Harold's authenticity...just a curvy girl who likes to eat! Since, we got the formalities out the way, let's get down to the review. Harold's is located in front of Wal-Mart next to a Mexican restaurant. The line was almost out the door with Chicago natives speaking highly of the original restaurant in Chicago and offering advice on what to get. Everyone I encountered was very helpful and friendly. I've always believed if you're going to try someplace, get it as authentic as possible (didn't know it would backfire later). With my mouth watering, I ordered a 8 wing dinner (wet) which comes with fries and coleslaw (never received), gizzards (wet), pizza puff (a flakier hot pocket), fried green tomatoes, and strawberry and honey biscuits. I should've listened to an older lady in line when she said she get her sauce on the side...you live and learn! Waited about 15 minutes for the food, which comes out hot and another 15 minutes to drive home and eat. Being that their infamous sauce (which tastes like a mixture of sweet and sour sauce from a Chinese place with ketchup to me) was on everything, by the time I made it home EVERYTHING was soggy! Maybe that's apart of the effect, but after awhile I really just wanted something crunchy. I really wanted to like Harold's, but I was so burnt from their sauce that it literally left a bad taste in my mouth. Food breakdown: Chicken - 3/5 (honestly don't know if seasoned, due to being in sauce) Gizzards - 3/5 (crunchy, but hubby was not a fan of the sauce) Fries - 2/5 (tasted like they were bought from Wal-Mart freezer section) Fried Green tomatoes - 0/5 (breading just slide off hard tomato) Pizza puff - 4/5 (very flaky) Strawberry Biscuit - 3/5 (greasy but edible) Infamous sauce - 2.5/5 (has a good taste, just was burnt out after awhile) Sorry, no pictures of the food!

10 piece wings with lemon pepper and hot sauce with the mild sauce on my fries... almost forgot to take a pic

New place looks nice, chicken always fresh and the service is good as well. They should bring back the specials and add more to the menu.

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. Knafeh ($6) - They offered 2 types of knafeh, one with cheese and one with custard. I went with the one made with Nabulsi cheese and topped with shredded phyllo, and soaked in sugar syrup. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

Also got a bag of chocolates, which are weighed by the pound. The only qualm I have is that the chocolates are not labeled, so when you mix them all together, it truly is a bit of a Russian roulette on what you'll get. Everything was super yummy. Will definitely need to be back!

They came here with the same excitement that they had for disneyland so I'm really happy about that. We all liked the harry potter experience and some different anime type experiences as well that my children liked. The foods and drinks are on theme and although it's not cheap, it's definitely not as much as Disneyland. We came on the weekends, but during lunchtime, and I can see how they might be really busy during the dinner rush. Sometimes you might need a timed entry to go in, but thankfully, we have not since we've been going. I will say that it's quite small and gets cramped really fast. Our pass was for 1pm and we were inside by 1:10pm. They do reserve the tables initially for the fast passes, at least when we came in at our time and it was great because I couldn't imagine being here without a table since I had a group of little ones with me! The staff were super friendly and worked as quickly as they could. There was a little bit of stress because of volume of orders and people, but they did the best they could and handled the traffic well. We got a variety of drinks and each enjoyed them-- I will say, all of the drinks are on the sweeter side, but definitely standard for kids. We literally got one of everything on the menu and I wasn't able to grab photos before the kids enjoyed them, but that's the whole point! The add ons can become pricey, but for the enjoyment of your little ones, it's definitely worth it! For food, we got the Derpy spam rice, ramen and grilled cheese. The kids all really enjoyed it and definitely wanted to come back for the next pop up themed cafe!

Inside you will also find French pastries, coffees and teas, gelato, milkshakes, sandwiches and macaroons. I felt the most interesting items were the French pastries as they are cute and tasty as well. Also, they plate the pastries nicely when you dine in as an added bonus. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. Inside, it's filled with a strawberry cream and has a chocolate base. I just wish there was more chocolate in this one. They have plenty of seating inside as well as along the sidewalk. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. One of the most surprising things when you come here are the relatively affordable prices as you might expect them to be more for being a coffee shop attached to a 5-star hotel with a helipad.

What's nudged this place up to 5 stars for me is they have really improved their coffee game, specifically their quality of cappuccino's. Previously it seemed more of latte, but now to me its a legit Capp. Their choice of pastries hasn't changed, which gives you a good assortment of choices and they have added an additional barista or server which also is a nice touch for service.
