I haven't been to Zaxby's in ages. I needed to stretch my legs on a road trip and stopped by this location for a late lunch. The location was pretty empty and i noticed pretty quickly it was really clean, as was the bathroom. I was waited on quickly and the cashier was really friendly, however i got stuck behind a bunch of large orders so getting my meal did take a lot larger than i would have wanted. The food itself though was great. It was so fresh and hot it literally burned my mouth- not sure if that's a good thing. I ordered the three tender meal that comes with their seasoned fries and toast and i tried their fried cheese balls. The cheese balls were delicious. I love their crinkle fries but wish they'd go a little lighter on their seasoning. The chicken is juicy and the breading is great. And you can't forget to get some extra ranch and zax sauce. read more

Their chicken is dry as hell and taste like sandpaper. It used to be so good but it went downhill, its very dry more skin than chicken.

The food is normal Zaxbys food but the customer is left a lot to be desired. My family and I dont normally eat at Zaxbys. We struggled to read the menu as the typeface was so small. The staff was so unfriendly and rude to us. The nicest member of my family left the establishment and went elsewhere. You have screwed up royally if you make him mad. We had a pleasant experience here. We were on the drive back to Florida and needed somewhere to eat that want too far out of the way. This popped up on gps, so we headed over. Staff greeted us right away. I had the zalad and hubs had the chicken tenders plate with fries. Everything tasted fresh and made the way we asked. It was clean inside and tables were flipped within a reasonable amount of time after customers left. They have the freestyle soda machine, which I like cause it pretty much always has caffeine free root beer. Overall: A Eat and quick stop for food without going too far off the main path. read more

Undercooked chicken wings TWICE?!! Are you serious... how you do not know how long to cook chicken wings for... it's what y'all do? So my wife and I came here tonight and get about half way through eating our wings, starting with the flats first, when she bit into a drumette it was pink and raw in the middle. She took the remainder of her order to the counter to report it and the cashier nonchalantly told her they would cook her some more, as if it happens frequently. Ok cool, mistakes happen. Headed from Georgia back to Melbourne, and we wanted to stop at least one Zaxby's. There are none near us, so this was a lucky find right where we got gas. When we entered, the staff were extremely cheerful and friendly! We placed our order, and the girl who was serving us needed help with change. (That's okay, we all have to learn somehow! :)) We were held up for 2 minutes about that, which isn't a problem. I ordered the chicken tenderz, and my dad ordered the Cajun Chicken Sandwich. The chicken breast was nice and thick, although it could use a little more Cajun. The chicken tenders are awesome, and the Zax sauce is great with it too! Cajun fries are good. This location has a friendly staff and is right off of the highway. If you're traveling on 75, it's a convenient stop. And the food is fresh and filling. The person who took our order was super friendly ... welcoming us and asking where we were traveling. We ordered the chicken finger platter. The chicken, fries and Texas toast were hot and delicious. The Cole slaw was cold and crunchy. A nice balance to the fried food. Their signature dipping sauce is good. It's a copy of Guthrie's. (If you went to UGA you know exactly what I mean.) I saw a few patrons eating salads. The salads looked very good. Will try one next time. Restroom could have used a little maintenance. But not bad at all. They have a serve yourself coke machine with free refills. Our lunch for three people was under $25. If you're in the mood for a little yardbird, this is a sweet spot. read more

I was ok with service being drive thru only due to covid. My issue is with the sauces. I ordered a 20 piece family meal, and wanted a variety of sauces. I was surprised to learn it only came with 4 sauces. That seems very stingy to me. Surely for the price paid, they could provide more sauces without charging more. I ordered and paid for a variety of extra sauces. The problem is, except for one sauce, none were labeled as to what type of sauce was in each little container. I wasn't going to remember which was which even after the cashier tried to explain. I asked if they could label the sauces. The cashier quickly threw her teammates under the bus saying that was the job of the cooks in the back. She displayed no interest in solving the problem other than saying it wasn't her fault. Clearly no sense of teamwork at this location. How hard can it be to label the sauces? I'd like to think they could do a bit better than this. read more

Stopped here at lunch time on a Sunday (Mother's Day). The kids both had a chicken strip kids meal (chicken strips, fries, a drink and cookies) and the hubby and I ordered the Nibblerz Meal (three chicken sliders, fries and a drink). Oh my gosh... I wish we had Zaxby's up north. We ALL enjoyed our meals (although, my kids never did eat the cookies... hmmm... I wonder why). The restaurant was super clean and the bathrooms were also super clean. We ordered our food at 9:16. It is 9:45, and she just told us that they forgot our order. My husband just went up there again and the girl, Sarah, acted pissed that we were even there. When the assistant manager came out, She did not apologize, she just said, So, Do you want your money back? Then after they returned some of our money, the cashier girl named Sarah said, We are not giving them the food. They got the money. They can go. Seriously, we had been waiting, at that point, thirty minutes. This is after another girl who was sweeping made us move because they were "starting to close". and then she swept directly under our table. I was a waitress for years. I understand the struggle. But this was ridiculous, and it made me legitimately upset. We were traveling through and stopped here based on the positive rating. Never again... At 9:50 we got our food. After the five other people who came in after us. And for the record, someone else ordered at 9:50 and had no problem getting their food. Thank you, zaxby's for an experience I will never forget. What can I say about Zaxbys other than I love their chicken. The chains are not on the west coast so I always get my fill when I come back to Florida. It might be labeled fast food but the chicken is always cooked when the order is placed and it's ten times better than a KFC, churches or Popeyes. I'll be back again next year during my annual Florida visit. read more

Figured I would give Zaxby's another chance and it was a big mistake! They were not busy with only 2 other customers waiting for their orders, the young girl at the register was pleasant and helpful but had some trouble entering our order, after we ordered our food to dine in, and then got our drinks and waited and this is where things went sour! After approx. 10-15 minutes they called our number and when I went up to the counter the handed me a to go bag with our food ( I explained that this was a dine in ) they looked at me confused so I took the bag to our table and then found out that this wasn't even our order! Took it back to the counter where I explained to the young girl about the mix up and she apologized and said our should be up soon. After waiting another 6-7 minutes and watching other people get their food that came in and ordered way after us she handed me another take out order instead of dine in and again it was the wrong order! (The staff in the kitchen was joking and playing around ) The young girl then asked to see my receipt again and again asked the girl in the kitchen side what about our order, waiting again ! After 4-5 more minutes they agin handed me a take out bag with our food it in ( which again was supposed to be dine in) went to the table and the food was horrible ! Ordered the Blue buffalo salad which wasn't made right and a single nibbler which was soaked in sauce all over it ! My daughters meal of chicken tenders and fries was just as bad (wrong condiments) The French fries were half cooked and gross ! Wow, they were great before today. I've always liked their children sandwiches and I like zaxby's sauce for my fries. Today I'm told (with an attitude) we charge 25 cents per sauce. I replied "that's new" , and got answered back, "we've always charged for extra sauce. Never mind, keep your sauce. Rumor has it that Chick fil a is opening across the street, and they don't charge for extra sauce, and their customer service is better. I'll take my business and money there. read more

I've been there five or so times since it's opened, the place is close to work so I was glad and I've gone to other locations, and loved their chicken wings and boneless chicken wings. This location, just no. The wings are so freaking dry, there is almost no sauce on them. I have tried almost every flavor and they are all the same, dry and gross! More than once the chicken is crusty like it's been sitting out for a long time. Save your money people, don't go here if you want good food. We ordered our food, the Zensation salad. This salad is only available this time of year. It is our favorite. We ordered extra dressing on the side and paid extra for the dressing. However no dressing was in our bag when we got home 20 minutes later. I called the location and spoke with the supervisor Tyrell and explained the issue. He told me "well the next time you come in I will give you extra dressing" Really Tyrell?? what good is that going to do me? The dressing is what makes the salad. FASTEST DRIVE THRU SERVICE - we frequent here for convenience. They have the fastest and most accurate drive thru of all drive thrus in Alachua and Gainesville during lunch time slam. Although haven't had the same luck during the dinner shift - mostly issues with accuracy. Their food is pretty good although the company (not the location's fault) could afford to offer more health conscious options/sides. Totally love the Freestyle Machine and even having freestyle selection in the drive thru which was the first we've ever experienced! read more

I really love the food here, but lately they haven't been able to deliver their usual quality. The food has been EXTREMELY salty, whether it's the bread, chicken, or even the fries. This isn't my conclusion from 1 visit, but my last 3! I keep coming back because I hope they will have improved. Hopefully the salt problem can be fixed because everything else is fine.
