This place is awful! I've never had chinese chicken wings that had a weird texture and fresh smelling. Crab Rangoon I couldn't eat. This is the worst of all time. it's sad me to see a business that started out so well decline the way this one has. I have left previous reviews raving about how great the soup is and the taste of the pan. Fried dumplings is the best I've ever had since I left California. After Covid, the prices went up, which is to be expected, but now the quality and taste of the food has changed. No more do the potstickers taste so amazing. I could get similar potstickers from Sam's Club in a bag. The sweet and sour chicken is different somehow and not as good. The fried rice also different and not as good.I get it. You can prices so much before you have to start coming up with other ideas. But this will be the last time I eat here. My office and I often order lunch online from China Express. The online ordering allows you to add special instructions, which I appreciate. I have asked for breaded chicken instead of normal chicken in the garlic chicken on several occasions and the restaurant made the substitution happily. I have also asked for something to be spicier, and again no issues. The food is tasty and the staff is very friendly. There is no place to sit inside the restaurant, except for maybe one table. Honestly surprised at the positive reviews on here. All the dishes were so overly salty! The lo mein noodles were over cooked, Mapo tofu and Kung pao extremely salty, the only okay dish was the fried rice, but it was oily and not very great. The decor inside was also very bare with only 4 tables and 7 chairs... Maybe ownership/ management has changed as I did not see a buffet area as pictured in photos. Everyone has a bad night. However, when we spend over $38. for simple Chinese entrees - we expect a "real" Chinese restaurant to be able to prepare the food. I don't know where to begin with the train-wreck we had last night. We ordered Egg Rolls - Difficult for a real Chinese restaurant? Not suppose to be. However, China Express Alachua - their rolls were "dripping" in GREASE & barely warm. Disgusting! My wife's Lo Mein - that she loves - so badly "over cooked" that the shrimp and veggies were "mushy" noodles were rubber. Disgusting. Seriously China Express? My Won-ton soup - passed with a grade of "C" as in "see where we can get better" food next time. Last, but certainly NOT the least. They completely forgot Dad's (my) dinner. I ordered cashew chicken. Once back home - no cashew chicken. Called them up and they said, "You no order cashew chicken!" So this disgusting food and messed up order was our fault! I guess it was. Ok Now no need to rip the little express restaurant. It's Fast Food, it's Fresh and Hot and the Couple make it to order. If you don't like salt, then tell them. It doesn't have a drive thru, so go to McDonalds. And it's not PF Chang, it's name says Express. Good Food Fast. Behind the little restaurant are homes. I'm sure those people after a long day or week would enjoy stopping to pick up. Or the businesses in the area or the folks like us who stayed at the Holiday Inn. Call in your order, Park your car in front, walk over and watch them even make it, chat with them and then go home and enjoy. Best Chinese takeout I have ever had. Vegetable fried rice loaded with fresh crunchy veggies, chicken with garlic sauce had large chucks of white meat. Freshness and friendliness all around. As far as fast food Chinese goes I think it was pretty good. I read the last review and the back door was open but since then they have gotten a screened door. It was around 7 pm when I went but it was cool inside and they had fans. Overall the place was pretty clean. My food was ready in less than 10 mins. I ordered the General Tso's chicken with White rice and the fried donuts. Both were good. I would definitely go back. read more

The food was good for fast food Chinese. Lunch specials are 5.95 and portions are large, drink not included. They do not run the AC so the thermostat said it was 85 degrees inside. Not a good place to sit and eat as you sweat while trying to eat. Major dislike was the backdoor being propped open with no screen. read more

Ordered the pineapple chicken dinner combo. Did not receive the combo (meaning smaller portions, lower price, and egg roll included) instead I got a huge container of chicken, a side of fried rice, and no egg roll. But this wasn't even where the issue lies. The pineapple chicken was terrible. It was extremely soggy, as if it was fried yesterday and just reheated today. Got the Bourbon Chicken and subbed white rice for Fried rice and ordered Crab Ragoon... The order was $34.08.. WHAT???? for 2 meals and ragoons.. not even egg rolls included... The carrots (the few that were in the meal) were translucent, and soggy. no snap to them at all. Minimal veggies in the dish.. Maybe 1 or 2 onion slices with a couple of peas.. for $34.08, I expect a good meal.. it was MEH at best... third and last time ordering from this place. Chicken was all stuck together in a huge mound. Tasted heated and not cooked fresh.. This was the last chance and final chance. Not at all worth the price paid. The lady whom took my order was very nice, the soup i ordered was delicious. But the shrimp lo mein i ordered was aweful, i have never ordered anything from a chinese restaurant that i didn't like. But it has no flavor and the noodles are pretty much mush. I called the restaurant to see if theyd make it right i told the lady on the phone about my issue.
