Dinner Combo portion-- Roasted Pork Lo Mein w/ fried rice & egg roll

4 stars for fast food Chinese. Typical takeout Chinese, YET there are approx 16 inside tables, a lunch buffet ($6.60 for buffet takeout) & the food is quite GOOD. The servings are large for the price. Staff was friendly & easy to communicate with. The roasted pork lo mein combo (w/ fried rice & egg roll) was flavorful & is easily 3 meals for me (see pic). The fried donuts (10) for $3.50 were hot, bathed in sugar, delicious & enough for 5 people. This establishment is worthy of the 4 star rating considering its fast food Chinese competitors. A friend had recommended this place a few years back; I'm glad I gave it a try.

Food tasted really weird. Most people in the party had stomach issues after. Probably wouldn't come back.

The food is okay and their customer service is below average but I didn't get sick so that a plus.

It can get pretty busy on the weekends, so expect a wait at peak times. I love the Vegetable Dumplings, Hot Dry Noodles, General Tao's Tofu, Salt & Pepper Eggplant, and Sichuan String Beans. We started with the wonton soup, which was visually beautiful. The broth had a rich, inviting color and the wontons themselves were excellent -- thin, delicate wrappers with a very flavorful filling. Unfortunately, the broth itself was a bit underwhelming and lacked depth. A touch of hot mustard helped bring it to life, but it needed more natural flavor on its own. The standout dish of the meal was the Mu Shu Pork. Absolutely fantastic. The portion was generous and the flavor reminded us of classic Mu Shu from WoHop in NYC's Chinatown -- high praise. The pancakes were incredibly thin, almost paper-like and nearly translucent, yet soft and perfect for wrapping. This dish alone makes us want to come back. The Bang Bang noodles were another dish that looked beautiful when served, but the flavor didn't quite match the presentation. The sauce seemed watered down and there was quite a bit of liquid in the bowl, which muted the overall taste. It felt very close to being great, just not fully there yet. Overall, this was a mixed but promising first visit. There's clearly real skill in the kitchen, and when the flavors hit, they hit well. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying more dishes -- and we'll happily update this review after our next visit.

A mother and daughter are waited on by a sincere, but fast-paced, quick-talking attendant. She is answering the phones, taking orders, and ensuring all the pick-ups get to the right person. The sizzles and scrapes coming from the open kitchen clue you in to their know-how and speed. A man in brand new Gator tennis shoes walks in, and the tattoo on his arm hangs as he looks up to the pictures of the food above the counter. Mandarin tidbits and discussion bounce off the walls, in the back, more clinks and scrapes and smells emanate from this Asian hotspot! A lady in a cowboy hat, red hair and a tie-dye walks in and orders her food, and the attendant can be heard saying "Hey baby, how you been?!", phone rings, sizzle, door opens...Friday night at China Wok is lit!! I got the sesame chicken and a few egg rolls...I know already how good it will taste, and how much food I will get! Worth the drive to Tower rd... call ahead, or order in house and observe the happy people!!
