With the clock ticking down for my engine oil change and tire rotation, a decision was needed. Who…read moreshould I go to for my scheduled maintenance? Maintaining your vehicle is important and can certainly help avoid potentially costly breakdowns as well as extend the life of your vehicle. Like most consumers a good coupon will catch my eye. Tire Kingdom Service Centers advertised $21.99 conventional oil change and $49.99 for synthetic oil. That price includes tire rotation, wiper fluid top off, battery check, and a visual brake inspection. With either choice of oil type, petroleum based or synthetic, that price is a great deal. Not wanting to wait around, I dropped my vehicle off at the shop and it was ready to be picked up about four hours later. That was sooner than I thought it would be - and that's great service. The job was completed promptly and properly. The best part about this experience was the gentleman working there. The service writers were professional, nice to talk to, and they didn't try to upsell me for additional parts and services I didn't need. It's hard to find honesty and integrity in the automotive repair business. You'll probably agree that most consumers are skeptical of car repair services, and they should be, for a good reason - it's an extremely competitive business. The location is convenient, situated where the 41 runs into the 776. It's also good to know that there's a WaWa convenience store adjacent to Tire Kingdom. You can go shop the C-store and enjoy some snacks and beverages while you are waiting for your vehicle to be serviced. Now that you know about this service center in Venice, you are well on your way to ensure your car or truck remains in top working condition. Enjoy!

When I got there, the associate told me they could not perform the tire rotation because my truck was "lifted." I explained multiple times that my truck is not lifted and is completely stock height, but he continued insisting it was against company policy for them to work on lifted trucks. I then asked him to show me where this policy was posted. He said he would check and went to the back room. When he came back, he admitted he could not find any posting, but still claimed it was company policy and refused to service my vehicle. Despite explaining again that the truck is standard height, the manager on duty still refused to accept it for a simple tire rotation. The entire interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. The staff member was rude and unable to explain or show the policy he kept referencing. Overall, it seemed like they simply did not want to do the work. Very poor customer service and a disappointing experience. I will not be returning to this location.

Yes... their hourly labor rate is expensive, but that is relatively standard for auto shops. I appreciated the compassion with which the employees treated me.

He made an appointment and took his truck back to repair all on the list. One of the issues was a brake light and they literally broke the dash out of his truck trying to find the light problem. Worst part was that they said nothing about it, nothing. They just laid the pieces that they broke on the passenger seat. The manager picked him up with the shuttle van and took him back to get his truck and HE NEVER SAID A WORD. Part of this issue was found on a previous visit and was unable to repair at that time. We were unaware of the brake light situation because his father previously took care of this. For some reason, they called his father and they agreed to take the labor off and still charged over 200.00 for whatever they did besides break the dash. Not recommending this shop in any way. We are all adults here. Don't take advantage of a young man that is just starting to understand repair shops since his father previously took care of all of it, and is now gone. It was weird that they called him because he now has nothing to do with this. Be better and don't take advantage of customers.

Cost was very reasonable - much less than the dealer quote. This year I returned to ask about a worrisome brake noise. He checked it out immediately and explained what was happening and how to deal with it. He declined any payment even though he spent about 45 minutes with me. Dave is a truly honest man and a great mechanic. His garage is my first choice for auto service.

Dave is just one honest mechanic. I had a tire that was giving me fits...it had a slow leak that I…read morecould not locate for the life of me. I first went to Mavis and two young guys looked at the tire and said it could not be repaired; tire had to be replaced. What I found interesting was one of the two said "I see the screw causing the leak and it is definitely unrepairable." The irony was he wasn't even pointing to the sheetrock screw the other kid identified. So they gave me a price of $279 installed for a new tire... I left and remembered seeing this little garage listed on Yelp, "Dave's Garage" and that's where I headed. Dave was by himself today and some guy had an appointment so he politely said, pull the Buick in, the guy is a half hour late already. He took the tire off, repaired it and proceeded to tell me his stories. He has had quite a past. But he has been operating in Venice for 19 years. As he finished the repair and another story, he said $20 sir. I gave him $25 and said $20 for the repair and a small tip for entertaining me today. All I can say is this guy is the real deal; a throwback to my childhood 60+ years ago when I used to hang out at McWilliams Garage near my house. Honest, highly qualified, and full of life's stories. He's a great mechanic and a good person.
