I asked them to check the front brakes to make sure everything was proper. They did check which gave me peace of mind. Well my car brakes better now and the petal is more firm. When I got there to get my repair done, they called a taxi for me so I can get home while waiting for the repair to be done. They were very honest and the owner Jim is a very nice guy. Igor was very responsive and engaging when diagnosing the issues. Venice Auto Tech was able to source the part which I was told by others would be very difficult to find and replace and program the ABS module in the care. He was able to do the ABS module replacement and programming work for reasonable rates AND, they warranty their work as well. I am very well pleased with this company and will use these mechanics going forward. Give them a try!

Management can be extremely hostile and confrontational, and problems are often handled by putting pressure on people rather than actually trying to resolve them. There is a constant feeling of tension, and it makes the entire workplace uncomfortable. What stood out to me the most was the lack of basic respect. Employees are constantly micromanaged and made to feel like their experience and judgment don't matter. Instead of creating a team environment, management creates an atmosphere where people are afraid of making the smallest mistake. I also personally witnessed behavior toward customers that I found completely unacceptable for a business that is supposed to provide professional service. I wouldn't recommend working here, and based on my experience, I'd also be very cautious about trusting this business with your vehicle. There are plenty of other shops where you can get professional service without having to deal with this kind of environment. If you're considering working here or bringing your vehicle here, do your research first and talk to people who have actually dealt with this business.

I first went to Mavis and two young guys looked at the tire and said it could not be repaired; tire had to be replaced. What I found interesting was one of the two said "I see the screw causing the leak and it is definitely unrepairable." The irony was he wasn't even pointing to the sheetrock screw the other kid identified. So they gave me a price of $279 installed for a new tire... I left and remembered seeing this little garage listed on Yelp, "Dave's Garage" and that's where I headed. Dave was by himself today and some guy had an appointment so he politely said, pull the Buick in, the guy is a half hour late already. He took the tire off, repaired it and proceeded to tell me his stories. He has had quite a past. But he has been operating in Venice for 19 years. As he finished the repair and another story, he said $20 sir. I gave him $25 and said $20 for the repair and a small tip for entertaining me today. All I can say is this guy is the real deal; a throwback to my childhood 60+ years ago when I used to hang out at McWilliams Garage near my house. Honest, highly qualified, and full of life's stories. He's a great mechanic and a good person.

Owner Horst met us on our inquiry visit, I decided to try them. Now living in FL, my classic 1990 Miata needed AC coolant refreshed. Unfortunately, I learned that meant an AC conversion to R-134 (from old ozone impacting refrigerant). The work was done as promised and the price was VERY GOOD! Everyone at Horst's Barvarian is client focused, from the office team, mechanics, and of course Horst himself. Two days later we had our other car undergo routine service, another positive experience complete with proactively offered honest suggestions. Try Horst's Barvarian Autoworks, you will be pleased.

The service advisor said "oh that will go away when you start driving." Yeah... it didn't. So we went back a couple weeks later (we'd been out of town) and asked them to rotate the tires how we wanted them, and they threw in balancing for free. The service manager, John, was very accommodating.

After spending nearly $5,000 with this service department, the original issue still isn't fixed. The explanation we received afterward was essentially "no clue." We were told the batteries had to be charged and that there's "something electrically wrong" that they cannot diagnose. As someone in the industry, that response is unacceptable after charging a customer thousands of dollars. If the problem couldn't be properly diagnosed, replacing expensive parts beforehand raises serious questions about the diagnostic process and how those repair decisions were made. Dealership service departments are supposed to have the highest level of training, diagnostic equipment, and technical support. Charging a customer $5,000 and then admitting you can't diagnose the issue is not what anyone should expect from a professional service department. I was simply trying to help my customer get their vehicle repaired properly. Unfortunately, this experience did the opposite. Very disappointing.

The work was completed quickly and efficiently and I drove home in a nice cool car. What I like most about all my experiences here is their thoroughness and honesty. They don't treat any of my questions as insignificant. They explain things on a level that I can totally understand. It's a dangerous place to service a car. I had my oil…read morechanged there on Friday. But when I got home late at night, I noticed smoke coming from under the hood. Turns out it was all flooded with oil. They forgot to tighten the filter (or forgot to put a gasket in, not sure). About a quart of oil had escaped. My driveway is also stained with oil. They are closed for the weekend, none of the phones were answered. Monday morning I drove in asking for a check up. However, the manager (Luke?) tried to convince me that it was a leak from the engine. After an unpleasant conversation (he even wiggled my accent - sorry, my English is not perfect), the car was looked at by a mechanic. The problem was fixed in a minute - it turned out that it was their mistake after all. I asked for the oil to be changed again, as I had refilled with a quart of a different grade. The manager refused, and in a mocking manner offered a refund. I don't need a refund, but I do need the work done properly. Also, the vehicle needs to be cleaned - oil splattered all the way to the rear axle, oil burning on the manifold, oil is on the wiring harnesses. The manager said he would do a claim and that I would be contacted shortly. It's been 6 days, but no one has contacted me. I would like to note that the shop is staffed by excellent guys. However, the manager acting so unprofessionally and insolently that I will never go there again. BTW, I was surprised that such a large, nice shop is actually idle - I was there 3 times and each time there was almost no one there - the boxes were empty. But after talking to the manager, it became clear why.

Speed: Took 1.5/2 hours to get the oil that I wanted and change it. Value: Terrible, paid $220 for an oil change, where I can go and spend $250 at the professional shop, with all the original parts. Overall: Very disappointing, do not recommend.

One of the issues was a brake light and they literally broke the dash out of his truck trying to find the light problem. Worst part was that they said nothing about it, nothing. They just laid the pieces that they broke on the passenger seat. The manager picked him up with the shuttle van and took him back to get his truck and HE NEVER SAID A WORD. Part of this issue was found on a previous visit and was unable to repair at that time. We were unaware of the brake light situation because his father previously took care of this. For some reason, they called his father and they agreed to take the labor off and still charged over 200.00 for whatever they did besides break the dash. Not recommending this shop in any way. We are all adults here. Don't take advantage of a young man that is just starting to understand repair shops since his father previously took care of all of it, and is now gone. It was weird that they called him because he now has nothing to do with this. Be better and don't take advantage of customers.
