Can't stand people or businesses that do this. Upon arriving from my 1,500 mile trip I noticed that I was having a lot of noise coming from the undercarriage of my vehicle. The kind of noise you can't ignore and need to get checked out. Reluctantly, I had to call the place I didn't want to call because of multiple past negative experiences. My vehicle is still somewhat under warranty ( that's the only reason I went back ) so I hoped that this time would be different and maybe there's a chance the problem might fall under warranty repair ( I rather focus on writing a well earned review for Curry Auto Repair than naming the place , I drive a Subaru ). Sure enough, $237.00 for silicone spray and a non answer to what the noise was. Still had my vehicle sounding like the undercarriage was gonna fall apart as I was driving away. Couple of weeks went by and the sound kept getting worse and now I was a week out from having to drive 1,500 back home to the Adirondacks ( still winter and snowing up here ). Started to scramble trying to find someone to take a look at my vehicle, not only to still try and diagnose the problem but also make sure that it's safe to drive. Enter Curry Auto Repair. Got referred to Curry from a neighbor of my Mom's through what they saw on Yelp reviews. Walked in at the end of the day and first met David and then Steve. I explained the situation I was in and they told me to come back in the morning and one of the technicians ( Mark ) would take a test drive with me and that after, they'd put it up on the lift and take a look. When I was waiting to take the test drive, I was able to witness David and Steve's interactions with customers who were picking up and dropping off their cars. Couldn't believe how involved David and Steve were in making sure that all their customers were taken care of while also handling the phones. They were reminding customers about coupons that they have to save a little on certain services as well as explaining in detail everything they had done while their car was in for service, great to see that. You can tell this place cares about reputation and its customers. Just so professional and kind. Went on the test drive and Mark was able to assess that the noise was a stabilizer link and that the rest of my vehicle was safe and would make it back. You know what Curry charged me ? Nothing. Couldn't believe it. It was only about a half hour of their time to help me diagnose the problem but still. I was a nobody walking into a place I've never been in and David, Steve and Mark treated me like a life long customer. I've since referred my Mom to this place and are also spreading the word to her neighbors. ( Thank you for helping her with the tires on her car ) Thank you so much for that. I made it back to the ADK's safe and sound. My car is currently at my dealership in Plattsburgh NY getting repaired. The problem is exactly what Mark said it was. * To anyone reading this. Usually the recommendation is to change at 3000 miles or more depending on conditions. I guess they were expecting me to return to their shop after 1000 miles. No way!!!

Brought car to dealer for confirmation who found oil plug was just about to fall off. That was Tuffy's fault. Imagine if I agreed to have pan replaced. And imagine of oil plug fell off while driving. Another big problem is the service manager speaks very very loudly, It's startling. I bought it to his attention, and he replied "that's how we role". I responded "not when David was the manager. When I got there, the associate told me they could not perform the tire rotation because my truck was "lifted." I explained multiple times that my truck is not lifted and is completely stock height, but he continued insisting it was against company policy for them to work on lifted trucks. I then asked him to show me where this policy was posted. He said he would check and went to the back room. When he came back, he admitted he could not find any posting, but still claimed it was company policy and refused to service my vehicle. Despite explaining again that the truck is standard height, the manager on duty still refused to accept it for a simple tire rotation. The entire interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. The staff member was rude and unable to explain or show the policy he kept referencing. Overall, it seemed like they simply did not want to do the work. Very poor customer service and a disappointing experience. I will not be returning to this location.

No upsell, no delay, just quick service. I overhear several phone calls with customers while I was waiting that sounded very professional and honest. The waiting room was the cleanest that I have ever experienced in a small shop like this. They had water and seltzer in a mini fridge. They also had a Kurig for coffee. Basic high school physics and a cursory glance at and automotive web page will explain traction on a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE car actually is generated by The FRONT WHEELS. God only knows how many people this business and companies like this continually practice deceptive work on unsuspecting customers. At 60 years old and having over 100 cars in my lifetime I've never heard such BS, so beware of what they say.
