This place did my rear drum brakes. I did the front disc brakes myself but I knew that I can't do drum brakes so I need to get it done. Mine were shot. I asked them to check the front brakes to make sure everything was proper. They did check which gave me peace of mind. Well my car brakes better now and the petal is more firm. When I got there to get my repair done, they called a taxi for me so I can get home while waiting for the repair to be done. They were very honest and the owner Jim is a very nice guy. Wish we didn't drop our car off at 9:00, only to have it ready after 5:00. The work was done with no problems.

We drove our car down from Michigan and going through Tennessee, noticed the oil pressure light came on briefly. Checked the oil and it was down three quarts. Filled it up and kept checking at every gas up til we got to Sarasota. We Checked for recommendations and JB Auto came up so we drove 20 miles or so. It was worth it! They were completely booked up but offered to quickly hoist it to give it a look, just to see what we were dealing with. Turned out the oil cap had a hairline crack which, under pressure, was spraying oil all over the place. They had one on hand so they just switched it out along with the filter and oil! Life saver!! I would rate JB Auto Works and Jim much more than 5* if possible. Traveling from Virginia, I came into the shop at 6 PM with a tire that had a side puncture. Jim diagnosed it and called around to get a replacement. When he found the tire could only be purchased from Tire Kingdom, he gave me the info on where to get the new tire and put on the spare to get me there. He would not accept any payment for his work!! For a few months I kept finding oil under my car. I took my car to my usual guy, he barely looked under my car, claimed my oil plug was loose which he supposedly tightened, then sent me on my way. A week later on New Year's Eve I noticed a good amount of oil under my car again. I called Jim right away and he told me to come in. As soon as I got there he pulled my car in and gave it a thorough look over. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly. Thankfully it was just a small problem with my old oil filter, not the plug. I was very grateful and pleased that on a holiday, late in the day Jim not only fixed the problem quickly but he was honest, efficient and clean. He looked my car over and made sure it was safe for me to leave, I was in and out in less than an hour and haven't seen a drop of oil on the driveway since. 2 HUGE thumbs ups! thanks Jim! read more
