I was here for a Yelp Event. I really enjoyed the experience here. Honestly, my most memorable part was the owner telling us about how the restaurants layout and decor relates to Lebanese culture. That really stood out to me as I could appreciate his taking the time to educate us. This also told me that it came from the heart. We were given 2 drink tickets for this event which I ordered the spicy margarita both times since I'm not a big wine person. The spicy margarita had a slight sweet and tangy taste. Very good margarita! Definitely had a kick to it which I loved. It's a refreshing drink We had plenty of food options which each item was explained to us during the owners speech. Those cheese cigar rolls were to die for. I loved the crunch and how everything flowed together in taste. It wasn't as breaded as an American breadstick or cheese stick. I could've eaten them all night The hummus duo-I don't usually eat hummus but I did eat this hummus. It tasted very fresh. I liked the beet hummus but I really loved the other one. I'm a big pita bread fan so having the warm pita bread was a gold star. Lamb with wheat and rice so good! I could've kissed it The rice was sweet but I could also taste all the spices. Very flavorful and delicious. One of our Elites at our table is vegetarian. They took the time out to make her fried cauliflower and rice instead of the lamb. That was so nice of them. In town for the weekend and decided to give this place a try. Overall it was a very good experience. The food was amazing we all ordered the Pan Seared Salmon and it was very good. Only problem is I literally only had three pieces of Brussel sprouts on my plate. I was very disappointed with that. The hookah was good too. They made sure to come around and keep the coals hot. The reason I'm giving this place a 4-star is because the automatically added 20% gratuity to our bill. Now our server was great but not the amount we had to pay great. I feel bad if someone didn't receive great service and had to pay that. Let people know ahead of time that you are added that so they can decide for themselves if that's okay or not. Its a jewel in the Deep Ellum area that we were fortunate to check out! Ambience: It has a classy interior that makes you feel intimate. Very well decorated for the holiday season. There is a full stocked bar as well. You should be able to find parking nearby at the paid parking lots. Service: The staff is very friendly and is always polite and courteous. Great food and lively atmosphere. I had heard such great things about this place so I was excited to finally try it out considering it was a busy Saturday night and we'd have to drive/find parking in Deep Ellum. Well it was definitely worth it! Right off the back the dish Coq Au Vin piqued my interest. I asked the waiter what he thought of it, his face instantly lit up and he claimed it was his favorite...and I have to agree! It was so delicious! It came out piping hot in a ceramic bowl: potatoes mixed with white wine sauce and succulent chicken. I do have to note that I wasn't a big fan of the mixed cocktails, kind of expensive and taste wise a little watered down. I'd probably get drinks elsewhere next time. I loved this place. We just went to do the Lebanese tapas and not the hookah area. Our server was amazing and attentive! I believe his name was Marcus and he did a good job helping us narrow down our choices. We never had Lebanese food, so we needed a lot of help. Granted I'm not sure if I'd say I've had Lebanese food cause the ingredients and ultimate dishes seemed quite American, but no big deal because it tasted so good!! We also got the falafel, and I was never a big fan of them, but these were pretty good! So, I think they know how to cook well for an affordable price :) My favorite was the roasted cauliflower. I know... it's just cauliflower but oh my god what the heck. It was so crunchy and flavorful! Don't put too much lemon juice on it though, cause mine got a bit too salty. This newcomer to the Deep Ellum neighborhood is showing off with its intense flavors, sharable plates and authentic entrees. If you're a fan of Lebanese food and don't want to drive to Richardson this place is filling the void and doing it well. A wonderful time to come is on Tuesdays during happy hour. (Tapas Tuesday). All of their hot and cold mezze is half off and you can reap the benefits of the drinks being on special, too. The plates are for sharing but they don't skimp on the portions. We got 5-6 mezze and were totally stuffed by the time we rolled out of there. We were delighted by the hummus duo (spicy and beet) and the muhammara served alongside fresh pita and a complimentary sesame sumac/za'atar dip. Next up was the fatayer, triangular spinach-filled pastries, moujadara croquettes, which are like lentil fritters alongside a mint sauce, and sambousek, most likened to a beef empanada. Finally we were served these shwarma filled tacos, the most fusion thing on the menu. The croquettes were heavy and dense. The fatayer was delicate on the outside and creamy on the inside, really tasty. Of course the sambousek were delicious, it's a little meat pocket. I had one bite of the tacos and thought they were really good, but had a lot of a garlicy aioli-type sauce which was a pretty overpowering flavor. All in all it was a wonderful experience. The server was also really wonderful, she did a great job. There was a guy busser who only ever filled up my husbands glass of water and only ever asked if he was okay. We went on a Tuesday night around 6:30 and it was nearly empty, though people started trickling in closer to 8. It was serendipitously "tapas Tuesday", and all of the hot and cold appetizers were half off. Some favorites included the hummus, warm pita, falafel, and Zatar fries. I thought the meat on the beef shawarma flatbread and the Kafka sliders was a little dry, and the grape leaves could have been filled more, but everything was such a good value so I'm not complaining too much! We shared 10 small plates amongst 4 people and were stuffed! The restaurant was really spacious, with an outdoor section for hookah and a fancier indoor section. We came here a little while back to celebrate a birthday and I have to say this place just blew my mind! For an appetiser, we ordered the Muhammara. If you haven't had it before, it's a hummus like dip made with walnuts and red bell peppers. Absolutely diving! In addition, they brought plenty of pita bread and Zatar to the table. I promise you won't be sorry! For the entrees, we ordered the chicken wraps. It's tender and extremely flavourful. For dessert, we had the chocolate halwaa cake. To be honest, this wasn't my cup of tea. The texture seemed a little off from what I was expecting. What can I say? I guess I really would rather have a more traditional halwaa or a plain chocolate cake. The highlight of the evening, however, was the hats. If you're having a birthday, they give everybody at the table gets a Fez hat. Great for pictures. I've come here twice now for dinner and hookah. The first time we got the chicken kebab which was delicious. The second time we got the lamb Mac and cheese. While both of them were delicious separately we weren't sure about them together. The hummus is excellent! Now for the hookah. The first time I just got blue mist and the second time got ocean water (mix of blue mist and pina colada). Both times really enjoyed the hookah and they were very good about getting new coal at a timely manner. The atmosphere is also great because you are pseudo inside. Besides baba Ghanoush and tabouleh that was good the rest was tasteless :/ we ordered the humus which lacked flavor , the chicken shawarma wrap where chicken tasted bad and the rose water margarita which didn't taste like margarita but more like sugar water. Pretty disappointed and the waiter didn't even check to see why we didn't even touch our plates but was happy to just get paid . I would not recommend unfortunately. read more

Came with friends on a Sunday night and were promptly seated. The place wasn't busy but it took the waiter a surprisingly long time to get to us. After asking for a few recommendations we ordered the fish chips, hummus duo, Sujuk pie, and the Lebanese double decker burger. When the food arrived we still hadn't received our drink order and had to flag down another waiter. Halfway through the meal we realized the burger still hadn't shown up. After asking the waiter it eventually showed up towards the end of the meal with no explanation for the delay. The food itself which sounded amazing on the menu in reality was just mediocre. For some reason a majority of the items were cold by the time they got to our table. The fried fish chips weren't crispy and the cheese on the Sujuk pie had solidified. The burger while looking impressive had an overpowering taste of seasoning. It supposedly contained chicken shawarma and hummus but you weren't able to taste it past the seasoning. While it's possible that we just came on an off night, after this experience I unfortunately can't recommend coming here. read more

It comes with two eggs; they never asked me how I liked them cooked, but it was overcooked for my liking. One of the yolks was barely runny and the other was solid. Dish would've been better if the yolks were more runny. Mimosas at $2 and I don't think they offer carafes, but that's a steal with mimosas usually running $3. Lovely restaurant with cool decor, good food, friendly service, and a very authentic feel. My friend and I started our meal with the fish chips, which is basically fried sardines served with sauce. The fish was crispy and flavorful without tasting too fishy. I would totally get this again. We also ordered the falafels, but they were waaay too salty. We brought this to the attention of our server, and the owner (who seems super nice) came out to apologize and explain what likely happened. He then gave us a new order of falafels on the house, and they were just right. For dinner, my friend and I shared the aubergine salad (eggplant salad) and the upside-down lamb pilaf. Both were very good. And by the way, I loved the complimentary bread that came with our meal. Two thumbs up for Zatar. We told the waitress and she said she would tell someone, but never heard from her again. 2. The appetizers are small. Ordered some Hummus and they literally give 2 mini pitas to eat with it and they had black char all over it. 2. The lamb mac cheese was SWEET like a dessert!?? And had basically NO LAMB in it. Told our waiter and he didn't do anything about it. 3. Food is average and OVERPRICED. Fast food chain Halal Guys has MUCH better quality for cheaper. Highly highly recommend this place. The owner is very nice and always tries to make sure that we are taken care of. The staff is representative of his spirit and have been nothing but kind, expedient and fun. The hookah is pleasant and they do a really great job of trying to ensure that quality is their hallmark. They do not mix hookah pipes so there is no residue of a different flavor in your smoke. They have a smaller selection than most but keep the essentials on hand all the time. The patio and interior are gorgeous, they have done a beautiful job of creating a relaxing environment where you can have conversations with your friends and not feel like you are being constricted. The furniture is new and fitting for their style. The bathrooms are clean and I do not hesitate to use them when the need arises. They have a fantastic selection of beverages ranging from alcohol to teas and coffees. Highly recommend trying out the Lebanese coffee. Normally you would think it's a regular product of the coffee bean but instead it's almost a tea blend with a light rose flavor and creamer. Surprising but delicious. Great place love the people, coming back again. Best place to get a hookah in Dallas. Close to uptown if you need to get there quickly from the bars. We are visiting from Phoenix and stumbled upon this gem. We started at the bar with some fun cocktails--you can tell that a lot of thought went into crafting unique twists on classic cocktails. We had great service from Diana at the bar, and the music was hip and fun. We moved over to a table after several cocktails, and enjoyed cold and hot meza. My favorite small plates were muhammara (roasted red peppers, walnuts, pomegranate molasses), moujadara croquettes (lentils, caramelized onions with a perfectly crispy outside), and kibbet karaz (meat shell, pitted sour cherry, walnut, scallions). These dishes are perfect for sharing, and there were no disappointments. If hummus and pita bread is all that you know as a Mediterranean appetizer, now is your chance to branch out, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed! After nearly filling up on the small plates, we moved on to main dishes. My dining companion and I shared the moghrabiyeh, which is tender roasted chicken on a bed of Lebanese couscous and pearl onions. The Lebanese couscous is bigger than traditional couscous, and it has a nice hearty bite to it. This dish--again, like all of their dishes--was full of unique flavors. We also shared the Lebanese double decker burger. Although I wouldn't normally order a burger at a Mediterranean restaurant, the Lebanese double decker burger really hit the spot. It's a kafta patty (beef, onion, parsley, spices) topped with chicken shawarma, gruyere, grilled tomato and onion. The flavorful kafta patty combined with chicken shawarma will satisfy your taste buds. And don't forget to dip those crispy fries in garlic sauce! We finished the night with a chocolate bundt cake topped with pistachio ice cream, and halawet el jeben, which is cheese dough with ashta. Both were a nice end to a terrific meal, but I was partial to the pistachio ice cream and oozy, chocolatey bundt cake. Zatar is a must visit. The atmosphere is trendy and fun. Zatar is by far my favorite Lebanese restaurant in DFW. The quality is second to none and I'd argue it is better than many of the longstanding establishments serving Mediterranean style cuisine in Dallas. The food is flavorful and the menu is diverse. I have tried most everything on the menu and have always been pleased. The pita bread comes out hot and the hummus is excellent. The upside-down lamb pilaf is full of flavor and is one of my favorite dishes. The pilaf is seasoned perfectly and you can taste the distinct flavors as well as the quality of the dish. The shish Taouk and Rosemary lamb chops will not disappoint either. I've taken many friends here and they have all enjoyed the food and attentive service. The hookah is excellent and it's nice to have two sides to the restaurant. The patio is for hookah and relaxing and the inside area is quiet and more formal. It's a great blend depending on what mood you are in. I saw a few reviews saying the food wasn't good, I couldn't disagree more. If you think the food here isn't 5 star then you haven't tried enough Mediterranean to understand the quality of this place. Give this place a try, I'm there 2x a week. read more
