Love love love this lounge. It's an after hours too so it's open until 5. Yes it's byob and they make you pour your liquor into a big water bottle that they give you (city ordinances). But the food? Bomb af. And the vibes are nice. One of the best decorated hookah lounges I've been to in the area. Service is good and fast, and the hookah girl/guys are so sweet. Club is BYOB but they have a weird shady what of it. You CANT bring in a glass bottle.. you have to pour the alcohol into plastic bottles and they charge you $5 per plastic bottle. First they moved away from and closed the Addison, tx and the Deep Elum locations. Hookahs in general cost $30-$45. This location is charging $150 per hookah. Patrons Beware!!!! This place looks great but they don't follow the prices on the menu. Our patrons were supposed to be charged a $5 BYOB once, however they were being charged $5 for every cup of ice they purchase..and for the one's that bought ice buckets were being charge $12 which didn't include cups. When they ask for cups they were being charge $5 for each cup. I purchase a soda a 2 cups of ice and paid $16.41...when the menu clearly states a cup of ice $1...When the owner was told about it, his words were that we were lying, that our people were lying and that if they didn't want to pay the prices then they don't have come back...So, sir we wouldn't come back to your establishment even if you had Jesus himself there!!! Also, your chicken wings are awful they tasted like unthawed chicken twice then cooked, they had a crispy outside and mushy taste inside. I was here on a Sunday and it was pretty cool. The music was really good. I liked the DJs and the song selection. We got there around 11:20PM and it was kind of empty, only two other tables were taken at the time. More people showed up around 12:30AM. The waitress was cool, answered our questions, and the hookah was good. I did not eat anything, but the selections looked nice. DJ also told us on the way out that Thursday was a REALLY good night. Few problems: $10 to "valet" and the parking lot is empty as hell. I can self-park and save time and money. $10 per person to enter, eh. Not a big deal, but also could be cheaper because you're going to pay for hookah. We didn't bring alcohol, but they charge you to bring that, I think it's $5/bottle. WEIRD Incident: This guy enters in with his pit bull (I like dogs, I have one myself), maybe he works there, the other employees seemed to have known him, but then his dog craps on the floor/walkway as he's trying to lead him to the back. I felt bad for the dog because he clearly had runny stool, and didn't need to be out of the house. The man attempts to clean it, but neither him nor anyone else attempted to mop it, so I don't know. It was a little unsanitary. I hope the dog is feeling better (TIP: canned pumpkin or baked sweet potatoes hard dog stool when it's runny) ALL IN ALL, I had a good time. I really enjoyed myself. I have a great deal of patience but Velvet tested it to the max. $10 parking, $10 cover ($5 for women), $32 for single flavor hookah "after hours", $39 for mixed hookah, $3 for water. Had to sit on small couches if we only wanted 1 hookah. (Couldn't sit on big couches unless we got 2 hookahs) On top of sitting on the small couches, everyone walking by used our area to cut through so we had to keep putting the hookah down so people could cross. If your hookah business needs more income, focus on repeat customers so people will come back on slow weekdays. Don't charge people all these fees and surge pricing at specific times. I'm a Dallas Promoter that already promotes at a club and it's successful on Saturday nights. The owner wanted a promoter to come in on Fridays to help boost his business so another promoter at his location reached out to me. The location was good and the venue was a nice vibe so I set everything up for labor day weekend. Everyone came out and was loving the vibe then boom,,,,,my crowd understood there was a $5 BYOB charge for each person but on individual receipts that was provided to me they charged $12 bucket of ice no scoop no cups charged the $5 Byob then when they asked for cups they were charged another BYOB charge for cups that should have been apart of the Buckets of ice and they already paid the byob charge. The menu that I took a picture of stated cup of ice $1 no one was ever charged that also they sold food the wings were mushy as if they pulled them out to thaw out never used them and froze them again then thawed again to cook. When it was brought to the owner's attention he immediately went off and called my people cheap liars. He said they don't need to ever come back he doesn't care he don't need them. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS LOCATION THEY ARE RIPOFFS RUDE AND DONT KNOW HOW TO DO BUSINESS. It's a reason his business was looking for promoters per his security my night was the most people they seen on any night for a long time. Horrible customer service and hookah tobacco quality. I had received a flavor combination that tasted like cleaning chemicals. I have been smoking hookah for over 10 years and have worked in a hookah lounge and used to live in the Middle East where hookah is quite prevalent so I'm very accustomed to quality shisha and hookah experiences. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a hookah lounge and the worst customer experience I have had in the entire Dallas Ft Worth metroplex. After telling the server our hookah tasted like chemicals, he tried it and agreed. He said we could not change it though as we had ordered it. It was mango strawberry. Those flavored combined does not equal cleaning chemical flavor. It eventually got escalated to the manager who told us he would not change the flavor or that if we wanted to, we could change it at FULL COST and still pay for the messed up hookah head we had just got. It was our second head already. He spoke down to our group of 3 condescending anything we had to say. We asked for that head to then be removed from our bill and we'd leave just paying for our original hookah and head we had used. He refused this as well saying that we ordered that second head and despite it tasting like chemicals, we still had to pay for it. We ended up paying as to not create any more trouble, however the tip left was quite low. It's sad that the employees suffer on behalf of managements attitude. One star because the music was good and that was it. Found this lounge on Groupon because it was a pretty good deal for $12. I didn't see anything on the fine print about not being able to use the Groupon on weekends, so I called ahead to confirm that I was able to use the Groupon on Fridays. The manager or whoever was on the phone told me that I was able to. Wrong. Once we get inside they are telling me that the Groupon can't be used.. I showed pretty much every "manager" around the call log that I made not even two hours ago. I asked them if that was their number and they gave me confused glances. It was definitely their number (they double checked on a business card..) I talk to another manager and all they do is shake their heads saying that they would not accept it. After moments of pleading my case, I was able to use the Groupon. After sitting for about 30 minutes, another employee walks up to us and shakes our hands greeting us. I'm thinking that he is about to apologize, but all he said was "I'm not the manager" and walks away... In addition, they charge $7 whole dollars to PARK. In an empty lot...and they charge $5 cover. $12 to just walk in the door?? There wasn't even a crowd for it to cost that much. You can pay a cover and get into much better places in downtown Dallas. Was invited for a birthday party, and due the amount of people we made an RSVP. Second at the door we where charged 10.00 per person, which didn't make sense but oh well. Then due to the amount of people we had, we where told we needed 5 hookahs. Then hookahs where purchased, and was forced gratuity of 18% onto the ticket. Here is my issue, cash is king and I prefer leaving tips in cash. Which I felt they are forcing you to tip, versus leaving it to the customer. I'm a generous when leaving tips and sucks for employees as it could be left in cash. Second as many people come into this place, have a better cooling system. Need more restrooms, it's easier to walk outside versus waiting in line lol. Overall think the experience would've been better if items are explained. Well I was very excited to check out this place and I finally had the chance on Saturday May 28th. I first found out about it on someone's FB page and the advertisement states open from 2-5 AM guys $10 girls $5. We walked up to the front door and the guy sitting by the door said $40 for all 4 I looked at my wife and thought maybe I made a mistake. We paid our cover and went inside. The music was good, but the place was crowded not with people but the way it was set up there was no room. The "dance floor " is literally the entrance we walked to the back and immediately a server asked if we were going to get a hookah. In other words asking if we wanted to sit we needed to pay for the hookah service. So we walked back to the front to see if we could find a place to dance so we stood by the bar and there it was.... their little flyer I saw on FB. I asked the guy behind the counter about the cover charge and he happened to be the manager (at leat that's what he told me). He told me I don't know he (the guy at the door) is the promoter so you should ask him. I went to the door to ask about the extra $15 he charged us and said $10 is the price and that's that he was soooooo rude I was ready to leave. Let me begin by saying that I am always the customer that writes positive reviews and defends businesses. I don't ever waste my time writing negative reviews, but feel that this business does not deserve the injustice not being publicly shown. We went here after Xsheesha screwed us over (we called in the beginning of the week for reservations, were told we didn't need to make any... and got there last night to be told it was full from reservations.... bouncers were pretentious jerks). The only good thing I can say that would give Velvet one star instead of 0 (if that were possible) is that unlike xSheesha, they were willing to seat our 10 person party last minute. But with that being said... It started with us getting moved from one section to another, and only after 20 mins of moving to this new spot were we told it's a "VIP" area (even though it was next to the unkept restrooms/cold open door/& smaller than our original seating area) so we HAVE to get at least 5 hookahs (which was ridiculous as we didn't need that many for the amount of people we had. You pay a cover and bring your own drinks, but they don't let you bring in mixers or cups so that they can charge you even more for things on top of the hookahs. They also brought extra hookahs to tables (including ours) lying saying someone ordered them and charging us for it even after we refused them. They act like they can't understand English even though they clearly can. You are better off at a bar paying for drinks. Our tab was SOOOO overcharged with NO itemized receipt or explanation of the ridiculously high price or any statement saying there was an 18% gratuity automatically added. They opened the back door and even after complaints (it was 19 degrees out) kept it open.
