DO NOT SHOP HERE!! There is only a self checkout option, I hunted down a rep to help me checkout since I was buying a trench coat and didn't want to run into any issues with security. The woman was extremely dismissive and had me scan the items myself. Upon leaving the store, alarms went off and a security guard grabbed me and asked for my receipt. Apparently on my receipt the color of the tshirt was different however the security guard barely spoke English and I had to grab additional help from associated to resolve the issue. The manager as well spoke very little English and couldnt figure out how to exchange the items and turn the security tag off. Spent about an hour in the shop. First floor is always hectic, shops usually busy. The girlfriend found items she was looking for that natick did not have and found them here! Second floor has more women's and kids and third floor is men's. There was fitting rooms on first (usually long line) but the men's section had open fitting rooms and more my speed haha. Wish they had more of their fitted articles in XXL, but i did see some button ups and sporty baseball style shirts in XL that looked oversized. We left with a big ol bag for the bday girl and would come back I'm sure as she likes this store haha. read more

Well this store certainly has a lot of two star reviews most of which are for poor service. I don't really know about that and to be honest this was the first time I ever set foot in here. I stopped in yesterday to pick up a gift card for a young relative who likes shopping here and had this on her Christmas wish list. The layout is rather bizarre and confusing and there are several levels. A lot comes at you as you enter the store from the brightness, dizzying arraying of racks and stacks of clothing, and loud music. I had to ask someone where the sales desk was because it is not easily visible.A young man folding clothes directed me. The sales clerk who ultimately sold me the gift card was polite and assisted me efficiently. Fortunately there was no one in line when I approached but soon after there was a line of several people waiting behind me to check out. Glad I missed that; the store was busy with shoppers. This store sells what I believe is termed "fast fashion"...lower priced yet "stylish" goods...clothes, shoes and accessories... clothing that in particular seems to appeal to a younger audience who have an eye on fashion and want to be as up on the latest trends as soon as possible and at an affordable price point. Apparently Zara can quickly get new "fashion-forward" merchandise from concept to store delivery very quickly. To be honest I was conflicted about getting this gift card as I do understand the environmental and social impact fast fashion has...I did read on line that the company is taking steps to mitigate this but clearly they need to do more as do many clothing and textile companies. I was glad to see they have an animal welfare policy and have a written commitment to safe labor practices but again it is clear there is much more oversight needed as there is with so many clothing companies. I am not sure there is enough information being shared broadly about the impact buying cheap goods has on the environment and in countries where making this clothing is outsourced...and this is an issue not just for younger people for all of us who may be too ready for a clothing "deal". It is obvious from the number of shoppers in the store that this is a popular destination. I can't comment on the quality of the clothes but I can hazard a guess. I went in thinking it's a nice clothing store and very expensive. Well the prices are not that expensive, they are average but so is the clothing. Nothing special here I thought. Clothing runs in the small size, and not just size wise. They don't use much material to make the clothes. The sweaters, shirts, even jackets, coats are short. There are many levels to find clothes and shoes. They sell jewelry, perfume. I liked the sample of a perfume I tried. Would I buy any clothes here? Probably not. But you might like what they have. I didn't care for the clothes at all. The store is neat and clean for the most part. No one came to offer help. This good and bad as no one will bother you but then they don't care to help customers. They have a great selection of women's clothes. They're pricey imo. Most items sizes seem like they're made for people 5'10" or taller. I don't have much luck here for myself. In MA, there are two Zara locations, this one on Newbury St & one inside Natick Mall. Finding street parking to go shopping on Newbury can be a bit of a headache but most days I have great luck, like today! This Zara has three floors; first two floors are women's clothing (2nd floor also houses their kids' clothing section) & 3rd floor is men's apparel. Like finding parking today, I also had luck finding clothes to buy today!!! I was actually at the Natick mall location just yesterday and one of the tops I really loved but needed a size up & they didn't have stock of that stock. LUCKILY, today this store came in CLUTCH & had the size available for me to purchase. I WAS BEYOND HAPPY. Tbh, like most clothing stores, very dangerous for me. I tend to go a bit overboard and act like I didn't just buy an entire season's worth of clothes yesterday lol... but Zara is definitely the ish & I will forever continue to shop here. I see some low ratings for this store due to the poor service. Personally it doesn't bother me, I kind of just try on clothes if I need to (because we all know that Zara's sizing is sooo inconsistent) & either come out with new clothes or hope that my next visit, I find better pieces. Zara sits in the middle of the block half point between both ends of the popular Newbury Street shopping district. Gleaming full story glass front and doors, colorful flowing clothing arrangements on mannequins fixed in the window belies what awaits you inside. A bit of disarray as we into the store racks commonly consisted of a mix match of items so hard to tell what belonged where. And Oh The lines we weaved around this place today. After picking out a few delectable items, we proceeded to wait in line. The store was PACKED - (I was told this is customary on even on Sundays here) Throngs of people in this store. I will say there are beautiful pieces some priced better than others. However, they were NOT prepared for the volume of customers mapped across all 3 floors. We were so far back in the line with at least 25 ahead of us (this does not count the traffic on other floors) I think there maybe 2 cashiers for our solo line. After waiting 25 or so minutes, and the line had moved only half through, we abandoned ship and left the items and the store behind. My time is too precious! It has been a long time where my frustration levels hit with shopping. One star is the minimum but if I could put 0 stars, it would happen. My friend and I were hoping to slip into the store because she needed to buy one shirt and to try it on in a quick run. Did not happen. We stood at the fitting room line and waited for 30 minutes. The same for checking out and paying, another 30 minutes. Each line we stayed at had 12 people in waiting and only one cashier and one host at the fitting rooms. Zara does have lovely selections and is popular with the public. It's just inconceivable that you need a minimum of an hour to buy one piece of clothing at this Zara location. I've been to plenty of Zara locations and I've never experienced this sardine snail level of shopping. Always have at least more cashiers at each station than just one so service can move along quicker. Or invest in self-checkout. Don't know if management here just doesn't care about the customer service here but seriously improvements need to be made with the business operations here. read more

I love the location and the size of this store, but unfortunately, I can agree that the customer service is bad (the majority of the time). Since when do you do online pickups on the 3rd floor? On the app, it says Floor 1 (as it was for many years), but associates send you to the 3rd floor without giving clear instructions. If you don't want to talk to customers - put up signs! I would not recommend shopping here ever. This is quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I drove 45 minutes to return an item from Christmas. The store was closed because apparently their computers and Internet were not working. I sat outside of the store for an hour and a half waiting for it to open and it did not. I spoke with one of the representatives from the store who is standing at the entrance, she assured me it would be OK to come back even if I was a few days after the 30 day policy just ask to speak to a manager and it wouldn't be a problem. Management was less than helpful. Did not offer an apology for the misinformation out again another 45 minute ride I was told nothing she can do about it cannot override would have to call the company. I called the company. The company said basically too bad for you and would not allow me to speak with anyone in management. They don't allow customers to speak to managers is what I was told by Nick the representative. so I'm now stuck with a $145 jacket that does not fit the person it was purchased for. Absolutely horrendous customer service and do not recommend shopping here unless you do not have any need for a return. This review has nothing to do with Covid. The customer service for this store has been terrible since I've lived in Boston. I purposely go during "off hours" because I am hopeful that the customer service will be better - nope. Whether you go on a Tuesday at 2:30pm or a weekend during prime time, there is going to be a long checkout line. 1-2 workers are at the register while the rest (including the manager) mosey around folding clothes while customers wait in line. I've not only walked out myself after waiting 30+ minutes but I've witnessed several customers leave the store because of their lack of concern. I've never worked in retail and I am not saying it's easy, but shouldn't customer service (not to mention, sales) be the #1 priority? It's sad because I prefer to shop in person/at the store but it's no surprise that Covid-aside, more people are choosing to shop online. I really love Zara's products, so I am hoping that someone sees this and this problem can be fixed! read more

For context, I'm originally a New Yorker and have been to a million Zaras so I know quality. AVOID this Zara location at all costs. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place is awful and needs to be shut down and replaced. I'm seeing complaints for years but nothing has been done. The workers all seem miserable and are sassy or don't know simple things. There is only one fitting room and it takes 30 minutes to get inside it. There are no seats within the stalls or by the waiting rooms - the stalls are super small and similar to Forever 21 which is crazy because of the difference in prices between Zara and Forever 21. Where's all the money going? Not towards the shopping experience, that's for sure. There is usually only one person at the register so the line to check out takes forever. Also, do NOT order online and pick up at this store. If you order online, there is no designated spot to pick up the online order - you basically have to ask a random associate and then wait 30 minutes for someone to bring your order. Absolutely ridiculous. If you return an online item, they will not take the box that came with your order. Why not? I have no idea. Every store I have ever ordered online from takes the box or bag. It makes NO sense. So then you leave the store looking like an idiot with an empty box. When I left, I saw a couple empty Zara boxes in a nearby trash bin outside from people who were likely told the same thing from Zara. Overall, never coming back here ever again. Not worth my time. I looked up the reviews before going here. I thought the customers were probably inconsiderate of the workers. But they are telling the absolute truth!! I had a hard time finding my size in a dress I wanted to purchase so I ask a sales associate. Brown girl, heavier set with a bob cut and glasses, i wish i had asked for her name. i asked if she could scan the item to see if they had my size in as she was just standing there chatting to her associate about nothing work related. she took her time finishing her conversation as i patiently waited. finally scanned my item while the device to scan was in her had the entire time. she said they had one more in store. and i asked her where i could find it. and she said 'i don't know,could b on the floor or in the fitting room' so i asked her if she could please help me look for it as i have already tried. This lady ACTUALLY rolled her eyes at me for no reason at all!! she didn't even help me look and just walked away. i couldn't believe it! This store is by far the worst place to shop. They don't care about customer service, their employees are very unhappy to be there, they are short staff plus they don't let you try the clothes on before buying them. If you walk into the store you will see that people, specially females trying clothes on on the floor in front of mirrors, sometimes you would even see people getting naked to try something on because their dressing rooms are closed for some reason. This Boston store is the worst! Check out counters always closed or open at minimum. Dressing rooms are ALWAYS closed. Workers always look and act miserable. Customer service is non-existent. Store looks like a warehouse- unorganized and everything everywhere, all over the place. Forget about getting help- you won't get it. Returns- expect AT LEAST an hour waiting on line on the 2nd floor with 2 max registers open while line is around the whole register square area and beyond. I go to Zara often but with this kind of service or lack there of and wasting my time standing in line, I think it's time to go elsewhere. Shopping should be pleasant, not stressful like this! Awful - Awful - awful the store looks like a warehouse piles and piles of clothes everywhere. My wife and I we visited this past Sunday May 1st, 2022 - Sunday. My impression was wow this place is awesome until one of the associates literally push me away to hang the items. At first was ok then I looked around and realized all the associates look mad and angry. I could tell by how they would hang the clothes with anger. But the vibe at the store was tense. Got in line with my wife for the fitting room waited probably 40 people ahead us. Got in the corner the only place I could wait for my wife and another associate pushed me away. No excuse nothing - just a nasty look. Wife got her shorts - okay got in line now to pay another 40 people ahead of us. Associte walk by us with both arms full of clothes no excuse nothing just cut through the line. Push us again - what cost to say: excuse - me , may I go by? Please manager these employees need training or a raise! They are angry associates! This time my wife noticed. I was like: please do not say anything. She laugh! I was thinking with myself I'm kind glad things are this busy for them, but why they are so angry?? Should we leave? My wife laugh ...repliec: c'mon honey is sunday! I was like What???? they are getting paid time and a half, if they are not happy. Just quit is not my fault! I myself worked many shifts on Sundays in hospitality and retail. No excuse! Finally made to the cashier. We had to do an exchange first. Male Associate/cashier around 6:30 PM on 05/01/22 did not even say: - Hi, not even made eye contact. Nothing! He kept talking with his co-worker about her schedule. Until I said: - I need to do an exchange. When he finally saw we were standing there for a good two minutes, all he said was okay with a dirty look. He did the exchange drop the main receipt on the floor. Care on his converstion with with his co worker about how bad the manager was, right in front of us. Then yelled next. When I said I have one more item then he rang in. Gave the receipt, I said may I please have the other receipt you dropped on the floor. He gave me another dirty look. No thank you- absolutely not even a single word. So awkward - yelled again: nexttttttt. And gave me the receipt! We walked away! Asking ourselves- Holly shit what was wrong this cashier ? My wife was like never will walk here again. To try to make things cool down a bit. I told her let's go on the second floor. We found incredible deals! Honestly only good thing about this specific store on Newbury St. But honestly this specific store the associates need more training either they are over worked or they hate their jobs. The way they treat customers is so unconfortable. Straight rude human being! Nasty attitude! So as we walk out the store: Guess what? The alarm went off at the door! Because Mr.lets socialize with my co-workers never took off the magnet. The security only nice person we saw at this store! came and checked all our bags. And told us to go back to the cashier please they will be able to help you. I was so embarrassed and angry that I went back and ask the cashier what was wrong with this item? He rolled his eyes and said the magnet - I lost it: I said: dude maybe if you were focusing on what you are doing instead of bashing your managment team in front of the customers this would happen! He literrally pushed the item on the counter. With the dirty look again! And said with the most nasty attitude: I'm sorry sir out loud I replay: really loud you are not sorry. And left the store! Asking myself? Why do we buy at this store? Why we did not call the manager? Honestly does this human being really represent Zara brand? I would say no. LA stores every single one of them and Natick mall store has the most amazing and friendly associates if you dont find an item they order online for you, always with a smile. This is what makes you want to come back and buy more. Even with deals we are paying customers. This is not for free even if was. What is wrong with these people? When you are mistreated like that. My wife said every time I look at this shorts I will remember this unnecessary episode. It really ruined our Sunday! Because for this individual is almost a sacrifice the store is busy. This Zara location really needs to improve its service and team members. I just went during the end of year annual sale and the selection wasn't bad, just not very organized, which is understandable since there's a lot of people coming in at out at this location. I'm not sure who the team member was, but she was a young female worker downstairs in the fitting room area 1/10/24. She was REALLY RUDE to customers for no reason. I'm pretty sure, she just didn't want to be there. Her attitude in the way she spoke was honestly so disrespectful and really shocking considering she works in customer service/retail. I overheard a conversation of another lady who had come out the dressing room and hadn't hung up all of her stuff she wanted to give back and the worker literally gave her so much sass and attitude about how thats not her job to help her put back the clothes! Like, I get that the customer should put back the clothes on the hanger and return the items neatly, but the way she handled that was not right. After the lady went back to hang up her clothes, the worker preceded to talk about her to her co-worker, quite loudly btw, so much so, that I could hear her saying " I just rashed her and gave her back what she gave me"--- when actually she (the worker) was the one being rude first and the customer gave back the same tone. Besides the fact that there is always a line outside the store, there is only 2-3 registers open on the first floor with a line of 50+ people every time. The dressing room has a small handful of rooms and there is ALWAYS a long line. The upstairs dressing rooms and registers are never open. The staff act like they are doing you a favor, by cashing you out. They do not even address you. The rest of the staff looks miserable and slowly walk around the store. If you ask a question, they snap at you. If you try to try on a sweater over your clothes because the line is 30 people long they flip out. Terribly managed store. Since the dressing rooms aren't open due to covid (which is understandable) there are a LOT of returns. Their procedure is absolutely wild, they scan every item one by one, put the alarm back on, hang up on a hanger, and walk over to a rack on the other side of them. mind you, if the rack is full they personally as the cashier have to move it out of the way and grab a new one. Even with 3 people working up front it takes over 30 minutes to just stand in line. There is also 0 sense of urgency (and I get it, they work long days etc. but the management have to step it up). im just so disappointed because I like the clothes at Zara but unfortunately I will not be returning to this location again. read more

First of all, the staff are great. Everyone I have spoke to has been polite and tried their best to help. I do feel bad though for the workers, the place is constantly busy, the store is kind of small when you think about it, and there are never enough registers open. When people are bringing up 100-300$ worth of clothes, and there are returns in-between managers need to either hire more people, open more registers, or jump on a register themselves. I don't mind waiting in line, but sometimes the line is 20+ minutes long and there are only 3 registers open in such a busy store 3 level. Overall I like this Zara a lot my only complaints are the lack of open registers, and the lack of a sale section haha. read more

This Zara is right in the middle of the block in a lovely window building of several floors. This review will compare this Zara location to other locations rather than just a shopping review. Every Zara I have been to with the exception of those in Europe has a lengthy line for both fitting rooms and check out and this is no exception. They have a decent selection of options and when we went in today almost all items were on sale. They are not known for customer service but the staff here did seem friendly and polite. With a Zara sale I prepare to see everything on the floor as customers often forget for a moment that they are civilized humans but it wasn't too bad at this location. They often have a modern twist on design with a little bit of upscale design. Jackets from Zara are worth the money, some great dresses are too. I would skip the shoes since they often seem lower quality than the other items. Jewelry is also often a good bargain here. This store is several floors so be sure you check them out before you go to try on because you won't want to get in that line twice. Overall a pretty decent Zara store. read more
