I have a few family events coming up that need more formal clothing than I usually wear. Haven't bought a suit for about 10 years and was afraid I'd need to buy a new one. At my wife's suggestion I brought three of mine to Zan Atelier to see if they could work. The owner, Nazia, primarily does wedding dress alterations, which is much more complicated than altering my suits, but Nazia was "on it." She has a great eye and immediately recognized the the shoulders were too big, and could be shortened to fit my body better. Altough not inexpensive, she refitted all suits for far less than purchasing one new one. I'm so happy that I've already brought her my old summer linen blazer, and new slacks to alter. I trust her much more than the tailors at department stores. She's a great find. read more

Working with Nazia was wonderful! She tailored not one, but two dresses for me! The first was when I stood up to a wedding and was pregnant. Her expert craftsmanship made the dress fit beautifully even with very delicate fabrics to handle and having to time my fittings just right with my growing belly :) The second time was for another bridesmaids dress after I gave birth - again she nailed it! Nazia did such a great job with the dresses I brought in! I was nervous to go because I haven't been to tailors much, but she was fantastic! I had two dresses that didn't fit me well and wasn't sure exactly what needed to happen. I called and made an appointment. On my appointment day, I tried on the dresses and Nazia and I discussed where I didn't like the look and what she could do to help. She was very attentive and helpful with her suggestions and questions. She really understood what I didn't like and then was able to recommend a solution. She has a great eye to know what looks "off" with a garment. I appreciated not feeling rushed, and I also really appreciated that she told me the prices up front for everything she was going to do, so I agreed before she started to all the alterations and what they cost. I went on a couple week trip and when I got back, Nazia texted to let me know the items were ready. When I picked them up, I tried them on again, and she asked if everything fit the way I wanted. If I was unhappy with how anything fit after wearing it, she let me know I can always come back! I really appreciated getting to try on the finished items, and that Nazia wanted to make sure I was happy before I left. I bought a full-length evening gown for a wedding that was a few inches long. It had a slit in the front and my shoes would catch on the fabric. It was lined and needed to hang just right so it was a bit tricky to alter. This was during COVID and Nazia made it happen! I called to schedule an appointment for the next day, went in (wearing masks) to measure and was given one week turnaround time. In just 3 days, she texted to say the dress was ready. When I said I wasn't feeling well that day, she offered to drop the dress off at my front door, which was amazing! This lady does not understand how to run a professional business. She was so rude and condescending the entire time and attempted to charge me a $20 fee when I changed my mind 30 minutes after I had dropped it off. Mind you that there no alterations done to this dress. Do not come here if you want to be taken seriously as a customer. I had the worst experience here. This lady is extremely unprofessional. I do not know how she is still in business. She was very condescending and not helpful at all. She turned me away during her business hours because I did not have an appointment, however, there is nothing on her page indicating that I needed an appointment. Terrible alterations experience. They charged me a lot (more than $50) for a hem on a dress then refused to do any additional nip/tuck work. The excuse they gave was that the fabric wasn't going to be accommodating to any further alterations. Which I knew was a line of bs, so I ended up taking the dress to my dry cleaner, who not only didn't have a problem with the fabric, but also did a great job on the nip/tuck work. Rip Off. I had a wonderful experience with Nazia. My friend and I had been to multiple tailors to alter a complicated bridesmaids dress with multiple layers and lace only to be told that it would be nearly impossible or at least incredibly expensive to complete. However, when we went to see Nazia, she reassured us and was able to create a beautiful finished product at a reasonable price. I have a winter coat that needed repairing and Nazia at Zan Atelier did a beautiful job in reconstructing the lining. The lining was shredded inside after several years of use, but she created a new lining from a stronger fabric that I'm sure will give my coat many more years of use. The price was reasonable for the amount of work that went into and Nazia was very pleasant to work with. I am very pleased with my experience here and would highly recommend Zan to you! read more
