I want to start off with that I didn't end up getting my coat tailored here, and I am sure they would do an amazing job if I had. This review is more about pricing as transparency. I went in with a wool trench coat that needed a hem, taken in at the waist, and sleeves shortened. She said $150 just for the shoulders to be done, $150 for the hem, and total would be about $500. I had forgotten the price of what the hem was so I asked again, and she changed her mind and she said $200 just for a hem... she changed it from $150 to $200. The coat itself was $270, and it as quoted $500. So I left. I went to another tailor with excellent reviews and she quoted me $80 for all 3 things. Again, I'm sure they would do an amazing job, but I did not like how I was being scammed and this deterred me from ever going back or recommending them to anyone. read more

Great quality and service! I needed an alteration for wedding attendee dress, and they did not disappoint.

Cannot recommend this business to anyone. I brought in a brand new with tags silk skirt last week to get taken in, and I came back to see a large stain on the front of the skirt. The alterations were taken in from the back, so unsure how this happened. The owner was not present but was on the phone. She refused to give me a refund and wanted to keep the skirt to try to clean it. I let her know I'm going on a trip in a few for two weeks and I expected to wear this skirt on the trip. Now I'm stuck trying to get this skirt cleaned asap, without any apology, acknowledgement or kindness from the owner. She told me to not come back here and I was not welcome as a customer when I asked for a refund. Just a warning - please don't come here if you care about your clothes. read more

I brought in a brand new dress to be hemmed and straps taken in. I asked that she hem from the waist to maintain the slit and lining, but she told me she would hem from the bottom and elongate the slip. When I picked it up, my dress was stained in two places, the lining was popping out from the slit, and the stitching around the straps was unraveling. I called the owner to let her know, and she told me to bring it in the next morning. When I arrived she was not there and a different woman pinned me. She told me she didn't know how to sew and was guessing where the pins should go. She also told me the work looked sloppy and said there was just no way I had originally visited Pecas. I ultimately took the dress to another tailor to fix the work and came back for a refund from the owner. Prior to coming for the refund, the owner told me to bring in my receipts from the other tailor and the original dress receipt so she could rectify the situation. When I went in for the refund, she told me it was unfair to her business to expect perfection (she told me she's only human so the stitching cannot be expected to be in a straight line and I should understand if I pick up a garment that got stained while in her care) and told me she was asking for my original receipts to see if the dress was even worth what I said it was, not to reimburse me for it. Ultimately she issued me a refund for the work she did, but I would not recommend this shop to anyone. read more

Amazing service! I've had my jeans tailored here and a shirt's sleeves shortened before. I just brought in a dress that had a few holes in it. I asked that they be mended. She warned me that you would still be able to see them and I said that was okay. I loved this dress and didn't know what else to do about the rips in it. When I went to pick it up 5 days later, my dress looked amazing! She had come up with a better solution which involved taking some extra fabric from my pocket to replace the rips. She put in a panel of fabric that matched the Polkadots perfectly and rebuilt my pocket. The dress looks like new! Will always recommend this place as the best place to get anything tailored or mended. read more

They do quality work, but I was really disappointed. I had brought in 4 pairs of pants, two of which I had been told elsewhere probably wouldn't have enough material to expand to the waist size I needed. I brought them to Pecas and, after they took a few measurements, they assured me they could do it. When I came to pick them up and try them out, lo and behold those two pairs didn't fit. They just kind of shrugged it off. I understand that they did what they could and I don't think they were intentionally being dishonest, but had they actually taken a moment to realize it wouldn't be possible, I would have donated the pants rather than spend $60 to alter them. read more
