The bowl was topped with thicker slices of beef that were juicy and flavorful but not too heavy on the BBQ sauce. It was a well-balanced and well-executed rice bowl. The space was on the small side but was well kept and clean. If there's one thing that's a bit weird to me, it's the fact that the sandwiches are packed horizontally from the inside of the sandwich to the outside, as opposed to from the bottom to the top. Just something to note because there are bites where it's just ENTIRELY the pickled vegetables or entirely meat as opposed to having all the components together in each bite. It's not the end of the world though, and I get it's probably easier to make it this way in terms of efficiency. I was at this pretty good Thai place a good while ago with a group as per most of my recent reviews…read morewhere we mostly shared duck dishes as they only cost $18.95 here which reminded us of prices pre Covid. In all the cases, the duck had good textures being tender with a crispy outside and it was better than the pork or the fish. The spot is small and casual and was overall good quality though more for the price point with a couple dishes that I wasn't as big a fan of due to preparation or light flavors. My favorite of the bunch was the Panang/Phaenang Duck Curry with string beans, long hot peppers, carrots, kaffir leaves, panang curry paste, and coconut milk. It was well spiced and not too sweet from the coconut milk with some heat but not too much. Outside of the curry in general, I think the duck also worked the best with this dish. The Duck Drunken Noodles/Pad Kee Mao with broad rice noodles, chili, basil, Chinese broccoli, tomato, egg, peppercorn, kaffir lime leaves, and finger root was pretty solid also. The needles had good texture with some good wok hei though I wish they were a bit spicier and I also wish that the holy basil was fried a bit more. Otherwise, this duck was particularly crispy which went well with the noodles. The largest of the duck dishes though honestly my least favorite was one of their signatures; the Tiptara Duck for $26.95 consisting of crispy duck with snow peas, bok choy, and American broccoli, with sweet & sour chef's special sauce. The price point is $8 more than the other ones as the duck portion I believe was half instead of a quarter with there being a large leg along with several other pieces. The duck was nicely crispy though I found the sauce a little bit too sweet for my liking with it also having a more gloopy texture. This was fine. The Crispy Catfish In Ginger Sauce for $21.95 consisted of fried Thai catfish in ginger, onions, scallions, and black fungus mushrooms with ginger sauce. The sauce had a slight bit of sweetness to it and was pretty tasty with there being plenty of fish which was well prepared. This was decent though not my favorite but I did appreciate the mixture of vegetables with the fungus adding a nice texture. ‍ My least favorite was easily the Pork Prik Khing for $15.95 with with string beans and bell peppers sauteed with prik khing chili paste. The dish lacked the spice I associate with this dish being very light and almost on the bland end which was unfortunate and the pork by comparison wasn't that tender. The string beans could have been cooked longer as well and they also lacked a punch. I wouldn't recommend it at all. As the meal was cheap, we got a side of String Beans With Garlic (I believe $6 or so) which was a small and decent side. I wish the string beans; just like with the prik; were cooked a bit longer and were seared. This was alright. If the price point wasn't so reasonable, I probably would give this place a 3 as two dishes were very tasty, two dishes were alright, and two dishes weren't that good. However, the duck quality was excellent and there were a couple notably tasty dishes. Mid 3 rounded up for the price point.

This large Basil Chicken Plate medium spice is essentially keeping me alive at this point, as I have it AT LEAST two times a week. It is a MOUND of carefully seasoned flavorful chicken, a side of white rice, an egg, and broccoli. There is no beating it. It is the equivalent to a home cooked meal and is the perfect post workout meal. It is the sole reason that Terra Thai is my starting PG on my All-NBA Lower East Side restaurants. We are at the point now when I call in to place my order, Aung, the owner, answers with a "Hi Johnny!!" and it brings a smile to my face every time. I go in and we chop it up, she asks how work is, how my friends are, how life is going, etc. I always give her a hug on the way out...she is essentially my east coast Granny at this point ahaaha.... damn I miss my Granny...
