Last two occasions having a dinner , the food was frozen and no flavor, the steam was cold, the waitress was bad dressed showed signs of lack of higiene. something is happening in this restaurant that is going downhill . OMGEEEEEE. My only regret is not realizing this gem has existed for 2 years. This Thai food is what you find in the dictionary when you look up delicious. The flavor was the perfect combination of savory, spicy with hints of sweetness. The server was gracious, accommodating and attentive. I ordered the crab rice, tom yum creamy soup, and basil Thai fried rice. The portions are large-be prepared to take home delicious leftovers! I'll give this a 5 star! Ambience, design makes me feel like I'm in Thailand. Food is soo good (if you like Thai food). Thai food is an acquired taste. If you love spicy and Asian herbs then this will satisfy your food preferences. The service is good too! This business deserve to expand! We need a decent Thai restaurant around Katy. Drove almost an hour to eat here twice our first time was an amazing experience, they wasn't very busy and the waiter we had was so awesome! Came back the second time and it they took 15min just to seat us because it takes them at least 15min just to ring someone up. It wasn't even busy, there were 3 tables, one was waiting 30min just to get Togo boxes and leave. I heard the old waiter quit n that was their major lost. He was really good at what he does. The new waiter didn't bring us water, napkins, or anything we asked for. Took them very very long to do everything and we had to ask for everything at least 2-3 times before getting it. The beef salad from the first time was so amazing, it was medium cooked and sliced thinly. But the second visit, they overcooked the meat to the point it was hard and they cut it into big strips which made it even harder to eat. The sauce is great though. I come here for their steam squid, the sauce is amazing, they actually forgot to give us the sauce during our second visit, we had to ask for them to light the wax up to heat the squid and waited pretty long for the sauce. If we have never had that dish before, we wouldn't even know it came with the amazing sauce, and it would tasted plain n nasty without the sauce. I also love the red curry, and they never lighted our curry pot either, but I was ok with curry not being heated. beef salad, tom kha, orange chicken was also very good. read more

3 people for us last night. We stood to be seated for about 5 min. No one was checking on the door. Hostess/server was curt and borderline rude. We watched another couple wait to be seated and after the interaction with the hostess they left. It also took 20 min just to get out r 3 waters. I ordered orange chicken and it came out 10 min before the rest of our plates. None of these things would be a deal breaker alone but all together it just made for a bad experience. This food IS DELISH and the presentation is impeccable even though is was to-go! My daughter and I had Thai at home in California but NOT like this! My daughter didn't actually care for it so it wasn't often. However, we tried this amazing gem yesterday and she absolutely LOVES it so much she wants it for dinner again. She said she could eat it everyday because it's so goodt, fresh and it's healthy. The husbanding assuming was friendly and helpful with our dinner choices. Great addition to the Katy area! 2nd review- we went back today and the consistency wasn't the same. The crab balls were good! When we came yesterday we had the remaining left for lunch today. However, in response to my visit today I will assume it was the daughter. She had a frowned face as if she could understand what I said. She had an attitude as though we were bothering her and didn't put the rice on the order even though I said it. The flavor of the food was not like yesterday, the presentation wasn't there and for the price we won't have leftovers. Because it wasn't consistent, food was bland and the portions weren't good. I have been to this restaurant a few times with family & friends (some are Thai). The regular menu is solid and their lunch specials are cheap. They also offer some items that are not usually found in other local Thai restaurants like the mussel pancakes, fried papaya salad and shrimp sashimi salad. read more

This Thai restaurant was OK. We came here to celebrate a birthday, and it wasn't the best experience. First, their fried rice was exceptional. It was very tasty. Second, the boat noodle could have been better. It only contained a little bit of noodles, and we ordered three, but only two came. They then had the audacity to say that it was already served. Next, the wonton soup was very good. I highly recommend it. It was nicely served on a fire. Lastly, the food came very slowly. It was so slow that we canceled our order and just left. If you came here for rice, I would recommend it. But, everything else was OK. read more

We liked this place a lot before, but not anymore. we ordered the lunch special to go and they let us wait for 40min to get the food. There were no one sitting in the store when we got there. The food here is awesome, the Thai tea is the perfect balance of sweet. We keep it simple with the drunken noodle and pad Thai but is the best in town. I want to start by saying, I eat Thai food quite often and I typically order from another Thai place but on this day I chose to try Zaab which is a bit closer to my home. I made my Togo order over the phone and was told that they were busy so expect a 30/45 min wait for it to be done. That was the first sign to me that this place would be great. I arrived about 45 later & still ended up waiting about 15 mins as they were still preparing my food, which was no issue to me at the time. We got water as we waited. There was an issue with the payment as I was told someone else paid my tab but I could pay a tab of similar value to technically count as mine...even still I was okay. They brought my order out, it was hot and the containers were huge, immediately I was excited to get home to try. When I arrived home, I opened each container, 1 was a pad Thai for my daughter, it looked & tasted good, she was pleased. I then opened my order of shrimp basil rice with a spice level of 3, it looked good visually, but as I tried it, I noticed there was absolutely NO spice in it. I tried a shrimp & I became concerned because of the translucent look but also the texture tasted as if it wasn't cooked throughly through. I called the restaurant to inform them of my disappointment with my order and the "manager" told me I would have to drive back to the restaurant to get a refund...mind you it was 8:37 PM and I lived approximately 20 mins away. She told me they needed to SEE the food in order to refund. I told her that was in no way an option for me given how late it was and how it was a mistake that I shouldn't have to go out my way nor waste my gas to resolve. One of the employees on the phone who was relaying the managers message to me was extremely nice enough to even suggest he Zelle me the money from his personal account because of how absurd this ask was. While waiting on this Zelle to appear, I receive a call from the "manager" or "owner" not even sure but she begins to inform me on the way the basil fried rice is prepared and that no one else had an issue. She said that everyone's taste for spice is different and insinuated that I (who have had Thai every damn Friday of the week) did not know what I was talking about in terms of spice level. She told me I could only get 50% refund since I wouldn't bring it back in and i totally was not for that. She then says she has a better option which is to have it delivered so that the order could be exchanged out. I accepted this offer as I really just wanted my food to be made to my liking. She messaged me as the food was being delivered that she threw in a dessert and was apologetic about the mishap. While I appreciate this, it was still an experience that I should not have experienced at all. My food that was delivered did have a better spice level but my appetite was completely gone by this time. I can't say that I'll return but will instead stick to my normal Thai place. read more

So glad that finally a decent Thai restaurant has opened up in katy. We were a big group and ordered red and green curries, fried rice and the noodles such as pad Thai and pad see ew were all excellent. Papaya salad was great as well, as a Thai cuisine lover I was not disappointed. I usually judge a restaurant by their papaya salads, if it's on point like the ones I've had in Bangkok then it's a win for me. Drunken noodles 5/5. Excellent. Spicy woonsen 5/5. Basil chicken. 5/5 meat is ground but flavor is delish. Mussamun curry 3/5. Sauce was much thinner and bland flavor. Only veggie was white potato.
