My only negative is that both times no one was at the entrance, so we waited around awkwardly until some came out to let us know we could seat ourselves. During lunch time on a Friday, it was moderately busy. My friend at the kung pow beef with fried rice and I had the shrimp lo mein. It was really good that I decided to go back for my daughter's 15th birthday during dinner time. We ordered three California rolls (no cucumber, add cream cheese), the Kung pow chicken and Kung pow beef both with fried rice, and a kids size orange chicken. Nothing was left on the table. I tend to stay away from multi-style restaurants unless they are the fusion variety and even then I'm very selective. Rakuu surprised me. They have a nice selection of Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese dishes. Every dish we ordered tasted exactly like it should have. It was pleasantly surprised as usually mixed selections like these miss a step. The staff were very nice and the owner/mgmt appeared to be on site. The restaurant was extremely clean and well lit. The rice had a taste like old grease and the General Tso chicken was overcooked or old, it was very chewy. The egg rolls were the only good item. We had a great meal at RaKuu! The space was clean and modern with a mix of traditional Asian decor. They had a great variety of dishes and their prices were incredibly reasonable! I got the phò and a sushi roll, my husband got the kung pao chicken and a roll, and the kids each got a roll as well. We started with the crab Rangoon and the Vietnamese eggroll and all were pretty good. My phò brother was exceptional, the one critique would be that I could tell the chicken was boiled, it was a little tough, and completely flavorless in the broth, not integrated into the dish, but its own bland entity. That was disappointing. My husbands dish was zesty and full of flavor, all the rolls were awesome. We had to sent back my son's roll cause it wasn't made to our specifications the first time, but they were quick to make it right. RAKUU is my go to food for delivery. I have never dined in but have had delivery numerous times. I have had the Vietnamese rolls, spring rolls and egg drop soup. My favorites are the Lomein with shrimp beef and chicken and the lettuce wrapped chicken. Today I had their California roll sushi. I've visited this restaurant many times and often brought friends because I love their sushi rolls, and the sushi chef has always been fun and friendly. Dead sure my previous visit will be my last. I overheard a conversation between an employee and the old waitress who usually serves us, the chinese woman around 65-70 yo while I went to the restroom. She was saying things like how 'Black people are nasty,' how a 'Black woman complained there's a hair in her food to get free food when it's her own hair,' and how 'Black people like to steal.' I was shocked and could not believe what I was hearing. No matter how much I like the food, I cannot support a place where such offensive and racist comments are made. Walking in the scenery opened my eyes and we were immediately seated. The menus we were handed were unlike any other menu I've seen with amazing pictures of the dishes they serve.
