So glad I came to try this place! Came here with my fiancée on a Saturday afternoon and we were initially the only people there. We were greeted and seated right away. Shortly after, 2 other groups came in to dine. Instead of an appetizer, I opted to try the Teri dog. That may have been my favorite item of the day. It was GOOOOOOD! I legit think next time I go back I may get like 3 of those as my entree. It was a good size, the sausage felt like it was good quality, and most importantly it was so tasty. As my main dish, I went with the spicy tonkotsu ramen. This was very solid and I ate everything but left a little broth because I was full. My fiancée tried the miso ramen which she enjoyed, but also got full quickly so I stole her leftover noodles hehe. The interior is nice and cozy with some cool wallpaper and ornaments. We were the only two dinning in during this time. We were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. The ambiance was clean, cozy, and comfortable. We were offered complimentary cream cheese rolls that were fresh and crisp! I ordered avocado rolls for my appetizers 10/10 and their Tonkotsu ramen 8/10. The only complaint I had about my Akita dog was that the shrimp tempura was tiny. So it def didn't look as full like their picture. The filling was lacking. Maybe fry 4 shrimps together to make it more like a "weenie" shape and it would be so much better. It was just 2 shrimp tempura in it with the other fillings. Or maybe it was 1 long shrimp tempura, not sure. But I do know it was pretty skinny. Not as filling as their other dogs. Always enjoyed their sushi and appetizers. The ambiance is very cozy and small almost like a Chinese restaurant when we first enter. I wasn't expecting much from it since we were hungry and didn't want to drive into town to look for good ramen and sushi. I was very surprise that every dish we order was very good. We decided to come check this place out after seeing the grand opening story on Yelp. Food was okay... Best thing was the ramen, which can compete well with other big ramen names in the area. Happy hour appetisers were kind of disappointing. We ordered Fried Calamari, Vegetable Tempura, Spicy Chopped Scallop sushi, and Spicy Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. Fried Calamari was the most disappointing of the set. It looked like onion rings, and breading was so crunchy it was almost hard. We ended up just eating the squid from it. Vegetable Tempura was good. Breading was crispy. Needs a lot more sauce to go with it though. Spicy Chopped Scallop was strange. It tasted good, but it reminded me too much of some generic Chinese Buffet stuffed seafood dish. It didn't really taste like a scallop sushi. Overall the appetisers and sushi just tasted like Americanised Japanese food. The spicy black garlic ramen was really good though. Broth was really flavourful and I actually drank all the broth after finishing the noodles. Portion of noodles was also very good. It also includes a full egg and two pieces of chashu, which is twice what many other ramen places serve. The spicy oil that was used was also really tasty and had a toasty flavour. We also didn't feel like we were super thirsty after drinking the broth. In terms of the bone broth, it wasn't as creamy as some other ramen places, but it was silky enough. This was the redeeming dish of the visit. Unfortunately it's the one dish I forgot to take a picture of. Not sure if I would come again because it's pretty far for me, but if i lived closer I would come again only for the ramen. read more
