I had visited the Tomball location but didn't really have a stellar experience, so I decided to come to this location since a lot of people visit this one. I ordered the same ramen, the aji tonkatsu. I thought it tasted a bit better and there seemed to be more in the bowl. My biggest complaint would be for the seasoned egg. Both my table mate and I agreed that it was barely seasoned and you could tell by the color of the egg white....it was nearly white! This is a hidden gem! Such a cozy and comforting spot, with some of the best food around at reasonable prices. We had the ribeye skewers, spicy edamame, chicken karage, and aji tonkotsu - all were phenomenal! we forgot to take pics, everything smelled too good to stop for pics. Had a good lunch on one of the weekends. I had the chicken skewer ramen which I thought was good and had a lot of ingredients. However, the chicken skewer as a little too grilled/burnt for me. We also had the purple yam cake and sweet potato tempura. I really like the purple yam cake, but the sweet potato tempura was a so so for me. It was not the orange sweet potato tempura that other restaurants serve, and it was also kind of hard so it was a bit difficult to chew. My mom had the Aji Tonkotsu, and she really enjoyed it. Staff was really nice and the restaurant is small but cute. Overall, it was a nice meal and I would like to visit again for the ramen. read more

Food here was pretty ok, it doesn't taste like authentic ramen though, it kind of had a chinese cuisine taste to the soup. Everyone had ramen and over all the food was ok. The one thing that was kind of disturbing is the odor coming from the restroom, you notice it immediately when you enter the restaurant. It kind of took away from the experience and you lose your appetite with that stench looming around the dining area. Staff was really nice and we enjoyed the music they were playing. We used to drive to Spring to eat at their restaurant there. I'm so glad they opened one in Katy! My daughter is a picky eater and she likes their tonkotsu kid's ramen. My husband gets the spicy miso with chicken skewer and I get the tonkotsu ramen. I usually order a sweet potato tempura too. It is nothing fancy, but I like it as an appetizer. The spicy mayo that it comes with has a nice kick to it. Service is fast and nice. No complaints here, but we usually eat early and their is never a wait. So good. Did not disappoint. We started off with the sweet chili chicken karaage and gyoza. Both were so amazing we didn't get a photo. My husband had the Aji Tonkotsu Ramen, and I had the Tan Tan Ramen. Both were delicious. However, we both preferred the Tan Tan ramen which I got without corn. It was slightly spicy and so good. Above average spot for ramen in Katy. I came by with my friend a few months ago on a rainy day (AKA perfect ramen weather), and we had a really good time. As our appetizer we shared the edamame, and I really liked it, especially the sauce on top. I ordered the tonkotsu for my entree and enjoyed that as well. While there wasn't anything crazy unique about the tonkotsu here, it was a solid bowl of ramen. I did appreciate how they added a good amount of veggies. Visited Aji Ramen and my girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised. 10/10 Food: I ordered the Aji Tonkotsu and it was phenomenal. Very flavorful and the broth was great. My girlfriend ordered the chicken skewer Tonkotsu ramen and she loved it. We asked for Egg noodles instead of the wheat noodles and our server was very helpful in explaining the difference and recommending different menu items. Ambiance/Service: the ambiance of the restaurant is very homey and nice. They have great decor up and the tables are very spacious. This place is ok... Initial waitress didn't seem to 100% understand me, but the service was really diligent and prompt. I would not recommend their gyoza. I tried the honey Wasabi ribeye. The meat was slightly livery tasting, but pretty tender. The Wasabi hits pretty hard in the nose initially. Not sure how much I liked it. They definitely have their own type of broth. Both tonkotsu and spicy miso were unlike any I've ever had. A lot of additions compared to other places like corn and seaweed. The egg had good flavor but was a little overcooked. The meat was more fat than anything, but there were 2 and they were large...lacked flavor though.. The tonkotsu kind of reminded me of the lipton creamy chicken soup? Aji Ramen is my new favorite restaurant. We ended up coming here after discovering Jinya had an extremely long wait time, and I'm so glad it did because it pushed us to try this place. I've already been here a couple of times and I'm obsessed. Everything we have had here is good, from the gyoza to the ramen. I've had the Aji Tonkatsu and spicy Miso Ramen; they're both really good, but my favorite from the two is the Miso Ramen since I love spicy foods. Also, the kids chicken teriyaki meal is good as well (we got it for my boyfriends little brother); it comes with a lot of food (egg roll, gyoza, rice and chicken teriyaki.) Flavor buds are screaming wow, after trying a $13 bowl Ramen last night while walking three blocks to get to it we decided to Trek to the Katy area and what a jewel we seem to have found. You might have to look a little hard from the street to notice that it's hidden almost in a corner of a strip joint but it's worth the find. We ordered the first Ramen that you see on the menu which all of them were only $10! Try going somewhere else, everybody wants to charge onward from $12 or something ridiculous for something not as savory as what we experienced here. I ordered the iced oolong tea which was definitely freshly-brewed and a good medium straight with a good tannan finish, you do not see this on many menus elsewhere. $2.50 The spicy edamame on the menu was $4 and had a good nice tap of spicy flavor without curling your taste buds into oblivion. And now for the best part, the ramen came out with a great presentation as looking like someone did not just throw stuff into the bowl and send it out. It might have contributed it to only about four tables being in here but the fact is this was a great visit and a great time to come in. Nothing was needed as far as adding any kind of spices, soy sauce or whatever. Probably one of the top five Ramen have ever tasted in my life, hopefully it was not a fluke definitely will be back here even though it's a 40 minute drive. Service was attentive, we really never had to becken about needing an iced tea refill and no smirks about asking for my iced tea to go. Another miniscule thing that could be looked all over, but not my me is the small laddle looking spoons. This is my favorite utensil of choice simply because this is the way that I think Ramen or any soups should be served, not with those American type soup spoons that barely can hold a wad of any spit but something you could actually let's you dig in at least whole ounce. Have you ever put your quarter in one of those crane machines and tried to play "place the noodle in your soup spoon without it falling out?" Yes that, you don't really have that problem with these. And the one thing that tipped us to five stars? $10! $10 for something that rivaled any Ramen that I've had that costed anywhere from $12 to even a $20 bowl we had a few weeks ago. Yes there is a place that charges $20 for a bowl. Another quality about this place that I liked is they do not blare techno Jam over the speakers so you not have to cringe at every sharp note that blast through like some other places I know, you could actually hold a decent conversation here without using your outside flea-market voice here. read more

Damn great ramen! That could really be all I have to say. The house Aji Tonkatsu ramen is just perfect -- I get extra Tomago (a soft-boiled egg). Good variety of ramen options (Miso, Tan Tan, Chicken, Vegan, etc) They also offer Rice dishes and the Japanese Robata or grilled meat. I feel like some of the Small Plates (appetizers) are a little over-priced; ex. "Jumbo Shrimp Tempura ($2.25/1 Pc)". I'm also not a fan of soft drinks by the can, in a sit down restaurant. The vibe is hip and even at 3pm the joint was hopping. We got most of the robata. The ribeye tataki was very rare. We did not care but the kids were weirded out. I felt like I was in a trance when I walked in, this place has a very relaxed feel to it, I also love the aesthetics & how well this restaurant was designed. Our server Uiki provided with one of the best services I've ever seen, she was very helpful & kind to us; Uiki deserves a promotion. I decided to order their gyoza as my appetizer & Aji Tonkotsu as my entree. Wow, their gyoza was freaking amazing, the outside had a very nice crunch & the meat inside was so moist & flavorful. I stumbled across this ramen shop two weekends ago while picking up some food and made a mental note to come back and check them out after reading a few Yelp reviews. The following week my boyfriend and I had Friday night dinner here. We arrived around 9:30pm. It was pretty busy when we arrived to our surprise but we were seated quickly. It took a little while to get our orders in, but I think it was just due to a large group they were serving so we didn't mind. I ordered the spicy miso ramen and my boyfriend got the Aji Tonkotsu ramen. I will give my spicy miso ramen a 4/5. Broth was on point, toppings were yummy, and egg noodle paired perfectly with it. I just wish they offered maybe additional spicy bomb add on as I would have enjoyed it more had it been spicier. It's possible that they do, but I did not see anything listed on the menu. I tried my boyfriends Tonkotsu broth, it was good but I definitely preferred my spicy miso broth. I also am not a fan of wheat noodles either lol. My boyfriend said he also enjoyed his ramen and preferred it over my spicy miso broth - so it all just comes down to personal preference. Presentation was 5/5 - I loved the oversized wooden spoon, such a neat touch. Needless to say, I slurped down my whole bowl by the end of dinner. Overall experience is 4/5. While the food is good, it's quite loud in here when it gets busy and I would have liked to be able to spice my ramen up just a bit more.
