Greeted immediately upon arrival with our choice of seating. Great music played in the background. This turned out to be a great stop on a cold rainy night. The food came out of order (entree first then app) but I'm not mad. The first sip of my ramen was so tasty, I only ended up taking a couple bites from the appetizer. Only complaint is I tend to drink more when I'm eating something hot so I don't like when restaurants serve canned sodas. They do however offer other drinks like "bubba" tea read more

Nut allergy friendly: Yes, it is! I think most dishes are fine, if not all. I saw this spot on Yelp's top 25 new Ramen restaurants in the U.S. for 2024 and had to stop in. I didn't read the article fully beforehand so I didn't try the recommended spicy beef or black garlic paitan, but I was surprised to see a tom yum soup and had to get it. I sampled my friend's pork paitan and found the pork to be very tender. My chicken tom yum soup was very good with a rich umami shrimp-tomato-spice flavor. There was a good portion of noodles. It's a bit far of a drive but I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area! I'd rate it in my top 5 ramen in Houston, though it is far from the rest and definitely the best in its area. read more

My friends and I were in the Katy area and wanted ramen to warm our souls. After a quick Yelp study, I decided on this place due to the 5.0 star score. I think it's a fairly new spot. Service - was great. Place was empty upon our arrival, only one other guest. The nice older lady that was the only server in the place had informed us up front that we get 20% off our bill. Wow, that's nice. She was kind and gave an older auntie vibe & checked on us throughout. She even gave our table edamame on the house before our ramen came out. Really positive customer experience. Food - I ordered the black garlic ramen, as did my friend. It was good (but not fantastic), fair broth. Great ratio of noodles to broth. I asked for chili paste (an upcharge) to add some heat. My other friend got the veggie ramen, and the texture of the kale noodles left her, unable to really enjoy it. I was tempted to order a roll but decided against it. Service is great, I'm sure they will continue to do well. read more

Still my favorite place for sushi and ramen. Service is always wonderful, food delicious, and place clean too. Today got the chicken katsu bowl, spider roll, and tiger roll. Place got a new paint job which I think makes the ambiance a bit warmer/comfier. I don't know how to explain it but i like it! I've been here well over 10 times and will continue to go. read more

The food was great for the price. We got the combo and tempura as an appetizer. Dee was so attentive. Service is great! Clean place, kind servers. The portions and flavor really made it 5 stars. * Ramen was above average, * Chicken katsu was the best we have ever had in our lives...no exaggeration! * Sushi had great portion sizes & was not disappointing at all! Overall, we will absolutely be back to try more dishes. read more

Terrible experience. I placed a pickup order, arrived on time, and gave them my name. They asked me to show my order details, which I did. Then, another staff member came and had the nerve to ask for confirmation again, questioning if it was actually me. What are the chances that someone else has my exact name and shows up at the exact same time? It's absurd. Clearly, I was the one who placed the order and was there to pick it up. The service was ridiculous read more

I am addicted!! I only try one thing here but the family has loved the sushi and ramen bowls! My favorite is the Chicken Katsu rice bowl, BUT you have to ask for FRIED RICE instead of white rice! It is sooooo addictive if you order it that way and INCREDIBLY GOOD!!! I literally dream about the next time to come here and eat! The staff is the sweetest and kindest I've ever had!! Don't pass this place up!! AND GET THE CHICKEN KATSU BOWL WITH FRIED RICE!!!!! read more

If youre debating on coming here, then this is your sign to do it. Food was amazing and tasted fresh. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was quiet not many customers when i came in, but this is definitely a hidden gem! Nice and spacious with a large menu. The restaurant no longer offers all you can eat, BUT i was able to share the chicken katsu, pork ramen, takoyaki , and philly roll all for under $50 with my boyfriend. They offer specials weekly. Nice new place, small seating area but laid out nicely. The owners are great and friendly. Fast service and the best part, the food is fresh and tasty. After trying their $20 all-you-can-eat lunch, I would say that J&J deserves 5 stars for the quality of its sushi and ramen. FOOD: Their menu and offerings are nearly identical to those of Mikoto, but they undercut their price by $6 (I believe Mikoto's lunch is $26, from what I recall). If you're conflicted about which restaurant to choose, I would say it varies depending on what you are craving more. Focused on sushi? J&J wins by a moderate margin. Their sushi doesn't have a strong rice vinegar taste, and while their menu is slightly smaller, the quality of the fish makes them a clear winner. Focused on ramen? Mikoto wins by a small margin. Mikoto seems to be more centered around ramen, with their sushi quality coming in second. While J&J's ramen (we got the P5, the closest competitor to Mikoto's black garlic ramen) was good, it was missing a slightly richer, more robust broth like the one Mikoto had. When compared against a known competitor - Sushi Masa - I would say that Sushi Masa offers better sushi. However, don't let that deter you. What J&J may lack in comparison, it makes up for in its competitive price, value, and service. Additionally, they offer AYCE ramen, something unique to only 2 restaurants I am aware of in the Houston area. While they're still rather new and only time will tell how they progress from here, they are certainly off to a great start. Service: Our waitress was solid, albeit, they weren't very busy when we had came in. However, she was very helpful in ensuring that we were paced well on the delivery time of our food. She also helped in ensuring we didn't order too much by making suggestions on how much to have delivered at a time. Wonderful service throughout! read more

It is hard to find a great restaurant especially these days with restaurants skimping on portions and ingredients. I was completely shocked with the quality of food for the price. This place is a hidden gem in Katy. I have been there several times times now and every meal has been amazingly good. From Sushi to Ramen to Chinese. The sushi is definitely a higher grade of fish. The ramen is not boxed broth like other restaurants, all made from scratch. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. 10/10 read more

This was a wonderful experience from start to finish! It's was so good I ended up coming back the next day with my husband. The first day I had the grilled beef rice bowl and it was soooooooo good! The stir fry veggies were bomb. The owner was so nice and informative. The next day i came back my husband had the general tso chicken, i had the dumplings and pork egg rolls. Everything was so amazing! I will def be back! Next I'll be trying the Ramen! read more

They no longer offer veggie-friendly ramen, smoothies, and a number of items listed in their menu.

I have been to this restaurant since it opened and it was amazing. The food was delicious and all of the seafood tasted so fresh. I left a review giving it 5 stars and returned almost every week, but the quality has gone down since the original two individuals (a female and a male) left. I have given the restaurant several opportunities but today was the last! I ordered a Kanisu Roll and the lady taking my order did not know what I was asking for. After correcting my pronunciation, she proceeded to tell the chef to make the roll. I also ordered the shrimp tempura appetizer. She then advised me that the Kanisu Roll was not made with rice and was made with cucumbers. I told her that I was aware and that is what I wanted. As my order was a to-go order, I opened the sealed package at home and found that my Kanisu Roll was extremely small and made with only cucumber and a piece of imitation crab. This was not what was described in the menu and what I have been given in the past so I returned and asked for a refund. I was then asked if I had ordered the wrong item and I told them that I had not as I pointed it out to her on the menu when she took my order, she repeated it to the chef so that he could begin making it, and it was on the receipt. She then asked me what was in the Kanisu Roll and I pointed out the ingredients on the menu. Finally, she told the chef what he should have added to the roll as if he was not aware of the ingredients in a Kanisu Roll. I took a look at the shrimp when she opened the container but decided that it was not worth me being disappointed if I had opted to keep the shrimp. I got my refund and I will not return! You decide for yourself but to go from outstanding to mediocre with no price adjustment is not something I am willing to pay for. read more

THE FOOD IS AMAZING! We live across from this place and have lived in the area for two years now. This is the best Ramen in Katy the service is amazing. We were the last sit down customers for the night and talked to one of the owners for almost two hours! She is amazing and has so much knowledge of food and flavors! Pork buns: really flavorful and soft. A lot of times I get buns else where and the bun itself is too hard and the pork too porky (Iykyk). BUT THIS BUN AMAZING this was the appetizer, so I knew the rest of the food would be amazing! Huge rolls 2 for $6 Sushi: My go to is always going to be a smoked Philadelphia Roll and this hit the spot. It was huge and fresh! Ramen: I will forever compare all ramens to this one. It taste homemade and fresh and it's full of flavor. The chicken had flavor and so did the egg and that's hard to do! I will come back for this ramen. All in all 10/10! If you live in Katy, make this your new go to! They deserve all the business and prosperity read more

I love sushi and I've been to many sushi restaurants across the U.S., but J & J has the biggest sushi rolls I've ever had! They were huge, fresh and delicious! Their chicken and pork miso ramen dishes were also fantastic. Their crab Rangoon are actually jalapeños halved and filled with the crab and cream cheese mix and then tempura fried and they were also delicious! Our server is also the sushi chef and she was the kindest person! She made sure my husband and I knew how large the portions were and to order a little at a time and she was right! We will absolutely be regulars here I can guarantee that! read more

1 star only for the customer service.. the food quality is trash you can get better Ramen at Jinya for the same price atleast they will give you the ingredients you paid for, the spicy beef only contains beef, egg, nasty instant string noodles and cilantro which isn't in the description but "they have to update the online description "which is false advertisement I should have asked for a refund but I didn't want to waste food... never coming back.. do better read more
