    Las Vegas roll
    Romelly P.

Service was great and the food was decent. The general tso chicken was a little disappointing. It tasted like orange chicken and was not crispy like I'm used to. The pieces took about 3 bites for me that's how big they were. The Las Vegas roll was ok. Some pieces of the roll were more cooked than others. I would've preferred them to be more raw. And the flavor of the crab rangoons was pretty good. I'm not sure if I would come back because something made me sick :/ hopefully no one else experiences this.

Service is awesome. They opened the front door for us, sat us down quickly, and San made sure our drinks were full. The music isn't too loud, perfect volume for us to have a conversation over lunch or dinner. We ordered egg drop soup, sushi, sashimi, chow mein, Mongolian beef, and kung pao chicken--so much variety, and they nailed all of it. 10/10. Ignore the photo of my half eaten food, come try this spot!

The meats were very tender, especially the ribeye. You also have the usual selection of raw seafood and veggies in the center buffet line. They also have a side line for hot foods and jelly desserts. Service was excellent. Our waiter Jun was very attentive and friendly, explaining every detail to us during our first visit and always coming by to check on us. They had some technical difficulties with my cooker, so they even gave me a 20% discount just because it was taking a bit longer to boil at first. The selection is a bit more limited for lunch, but the price is lower than dinner as well. Being AYCE, I wouldn't expect the highest quality, type, and cut of fish, but what they had was pretty solid, tasted fresh, and was delicious. A minor complaint would be they had no sashimi option, even for the tamago which I personally believe is eaten best without rice, but that's just minor stuff considering the good value here. As much as I try to find a reason not to give this place an outstanding rating, if I compare it to the AYCE category of restaurants, it did everything right. They do have a regular a la carte menu, with a selection that looks like a treat in itself. As for me, I highly enjoyed their jalapeno bomb to start. I highly doubt they used snow crab, tasted like imitation crab, but I enjoyed it nevertheless and got another order at the end. I tried a few nigiri while I was here, with eel being my favorite (and thank goodness for no bones, which was lucky because it's eel). Their tacos were an unexpected standout and is worth a bite or two. Using sheets of nori and frying it to it holds up like a shell is pretty genius and more places need to do this. I had a good time with their Burning Alaska signature maki, which has salmon as the main star. The smokiness from torching was a killer! Their curry reminded me of S&B, which might very well be the mix they used. I was a bit disappointed to not see fish katsu as an option considered it's a sushi place, but I can see the katsu curry selection being a good option as a comfort dish. I wish I had the stomach space to try out new stuff, but maybe next time. Wish someone would post a photo of the salmon skin salad, because I'm a bit curious about that!

I haven't been to this spot in years. I forgot how good this place was!…read more Music is always popping here. I came in on a Friday night, and they had a live DJ playing. The music is a mix of EDM, Hip-hop, Rap, and R&B. They have tables and bar top seating. If you have a bigger group, I'm sure you can find a table depending on the time you arrive. There is a lot of seating. To start off, I ordered the Matcha Martini. It was STRONG omg, definitely a sipper, but it was so good. It was creamy and had a good matcha flavor. I love how they added matcha powder on top. For drinks, I also tried their espresso martini and Bubbly Pineapple. The espressos here are good, no complaints. The Bubbly Pineapple is so cute; it comes out with a bubble of smoke you can pop. The drink is very refreshing; it really tastes like pineapple. FYI, the drink has little black seeds, so if you don't like textures in your drink, maybe this one isn't for you. Also the drink came with a little frozen pineapple you can add to your drink once you pop the bubble As an appetizer, I got a dozen raw oysters and decided to add the $5 tobiko (fish eggs). Let me say, they were not stingy with the Tobiko, there was so much on my Oysters, I mean a lot! The oysters were good, and so was the tobiko, but I feel that with so much tobiko, it kind of took away from the oysters. Still good though, especially for $21 for the dozen with the tobiko! It was very filling I'm not gonna lie, I got pretty full with the oysters, but I still had to eat my entree As an entree, I ordered the Short Ribs, which came with rice and a side salad. I didn't think I was going to eat much of my entree since the oysters had filled me up, but I ate the short ribs down to the bone! Every single one of those ribs I devoured, no meat was left on my plate. I didn't have space to eat, but my stomach made space for this. 10/10 would recommend the short ribs, especially with the delicious sauce it came with. I think it's like a fish sauce 10/10 for food and drinks. Bonus: the staff here is really friendly. I really enjoyed my time here. I need to come more often for sure, this is definitely a Katy gem

Had no reservations anywhere on a Friday night but called GiAu Bar n Bites & they said come on in, we don't get our crowd till late night. It was fairly empty at 7:30p but by the time we left at 9:45p there were a few more ppl. Funny thing is, the age of most customers was 40-60s. The music is pumping loudly with no DJ but at 9p the DJ came in & took the music up another level! I think the older folks come out early & likely the younger people take over after 10 or 11p. ( I won't be able to confirm that theory cause I'll be home by then!) Food & services were good as usual. The bartenders do a great job check them out!

It was set up like a ghost kitchen, but you can order and dine in. P2 chose their Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken Over Rice, and I chose the Taiwanese Braised Pork Over Rice. The popcorn chicken is authentic and delicious. For $12, we were given a generous portion of chicken and vegetables. On the other hand, I did not get my money's worth. For $10, I was given a small scoop of ground braised pork and a tea egg over a massive amount of white rice. The proportion of my meal was comically so off that I had considered complaining about my experience to the server. I decided not to, as the server had nothing to do with portion control. We paid around $28 after a tip for a lackluster meal for two. We went on a Sunday during lunchtime when restaurants are usually packed, but we were the only ones there. It doesn't bother me that it's semi-dimmed and small. The food made up for it even though my back was to the main entrance door. Good parking spaces. There was a waitlist but we didn't wait for over 30 minutes. Best bang for your buck AYCE sushi at $29.99/person and their menu is THICK. Even for someone who is used to sushi, it was overwhelming at first. The tablet made it easier to order without feeling so needy to the already-so-busy servers. Cheaper at lunch time but menu has less options, mainly no sashimi and only ice-cream as desserts. My favorites are chicken karaage, kanpachi sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, salmon sashimi, Cajun albacore sashimi, spider roll, Starbucks roll, baked green mussels, and their mochi (I got strawberry and mango). I got a lot more but those are my favorite and highly recommend for you to try. Final destination sushi rolls are majority of the people's favorite, including my server's. Eel sashimi is on a grill, which was surprising and good. Wasabi was lacking the spice and I'm not a fan of pink ginger but it's an AYCE so not complaining. What I do suggest you to do is to stay away from hot cheesecake and ice cream tempura. Unfortunately, they most likely use the same batter batch with their meats/seafood and they fry it with their seafood/meat oil so all you taste is mainly seafood, which is quite disgusting when you want your desserts to be desserts. I love seafood but that was gross. I still ate the insides. Overall, a solid restaurant for AYCE sushi. I like that the majority of their sushi rolls are half and they don't kill you with so much rice. Plus, you have an option to not get AYCE if you're not too hungry.

The restaurant somewhat is small from inside, yet it seems that the servers are just going back n forth between tables and kitchen. The kiosk ordering systems helps take the burden off of the servers quite a bit, and it's easier to order at your own pace, when you're ready to. Their sashimi was very good. Thick slices of fish. Seaweed salad was good also. Vast selection of rolls. I do like their Starbuck and shaggy rolls a lot. They serve 4 pieces to a roll where as other competitors do 6-8. Also, both times I noticed that their rolls were coming apart, which is not too appealing. Nonetheless, the food is still pretty good and I do plan on visiting them again.
