Miso Soup Salmon, spicy tuna and unagi nigiri
    Erika O.

Came here on a Wednesday for lunch and was seated immediately. It was $44 for 2 of us which is pretty good for all you can eat. We ordered a variety of nigiri, 2 rolls, miso soup, and a few kinds of tempura. I also loved the sushi pizza. I'd recommend the nigiri since it's less filling than a whole roll. Everything was delicious! Pretty good fish quality for all u can eat. We finished with some matcha ice cream. Service was great and food didn't take too long to come out. Def a good spot if u want affordable all you can eat

Was wanting some sushi and also wanted to try a place I haven't been to. Enter @sushi9katytx. This place is an AYCE spot, which makes it even better. This place has a great ambiance and quick service. we ordered everything from Miso Soup, Crab Puffs, Teriyaki Salmon, Ice Cream, and multiple Sushi Rolls. overall, this is a great spot, with a great selection of items.

Be careful they give you the correct menu or at least identify it.

Called the restaurant ahead of time, they informed me the Lunch AYCE(All you can eat) was $24.99. After arriving @1pm and being sat they handed me the menu and it appeared different so I asked is this the all you can eat menu? She said yes and I was excited because they had a bunch of different items which appeared to be way more than what they used to offer. The wait time was horrible, 34 minutes after ordering I was still waiting for my first order of sashimi. My lunch arrived very slow but was good, not great but good. When the check arrived it was $36.99, i informed them that I had called and they had informed me the AYCE menu was $24.99. She informed me that I had order sashimi which is only a dinner item. I told her this is the menu they gave me. I asked for the manager and she informed me she was the manager. I explained the situation again, she offered to give me a 10% discount. I let her know that was bad business to charge $12 more when they had clearly given me the wrong menu. While she left she attended to a different table and informed them that dinner started at 3pm? As she passed I asked her about her informing the other table that dinner started at 3pm? She said she had not when I just heard her two tables away. So not only are they practicing bad business practices she's an out and out liar. Spend your money elsewhere.

Great food and great ambiance! Was able to catch up with former coworkers around linner time and we had a blast! Staff was friendly and service was quick! 10/10 perfect for any special event you may have and perfectly soothed that sushi craving.

Sushi 9 is an absolute gem to not skip! Our favorite waiter Jaden always goes above and beyond, making every visit feel so VIPl. And the food? No words...just amazing! Every bite is fresh, flavorful, and perfect. Hands down the best sushi AYCE spot in Katy.

The food at Sushi 9 is great. Granted, this is coming from someone who has never eaten very high end sushi. However, the effort put into the dishes at sushi 9 is great. The sushi rolls or pieces never look messy or sloppy, they look like they were actually made carefully. The servers are very attentive and kind, nothing bad to say and they are quick to service you. The environment is a little more quiet than I'm used to at sushi restaurants, but that is a good thing as it's enjoyable to dine in a place like this with friends and be able to hear each other. It's a far drive, but always enjoyable when I come visit. I have nothing bad to say.

I ordered the sushi 9 roll and the bucking brono, and everything was fresh and delicious. They have a special going on right now on their specialty sushi where it is buy one get one free. I ended up paying $23 for both, which is pretty reasonable compared to other sushi spots I've tried in Katy. I highly recommend it!!

For the price and quality 5 awesome stars! I have never had a bad experience here!! I always do the "all you can eat" as its worth it if you like sushi and sashimi. Servers are consistent with checking up on you to receive food orders. Parking is spacious so I never have to struggle to find parking. Food is great!! I come here for the sashimi cause I looove sashimi. For under $30 with all you can eat is a killer deal. Also there is desert at the end, you can pick your ice cream flavor and thats good too! Basically if you are hungry and want quality sushi for the price this place is reliable.

I convinced my friend to try a new place for sushi, other than our usual spot in Katy. Stopped in around 5PM on a Friday night, and they were just starting to get a bit of a dinner crowd. The concept is nice and easy. Pay $29.99/per person ($17.99 weekday lunch, $22.99 weekend lunch) and order whatever, and as much as you want, of any menu items. I loved the Flying Egg Salad (I ate two!). In addition to assorted maki/hand rolls, we ordered some tempura, edamame, miso soup, and the very tasty Shrimp Stir-Fry Udon Noodles. The service was friendly. And the product items quickly while clearing empty plates. Definitely a nice spot. This isn't high-end like Sushi Ra, but it's a great alternative to Kura Sushi or Sushi Sakura -- with many more options. We didn't have room for ice cream though! My friend and I said the next time we come back we should bring a few more people because it would be fun to share some other dishes.

It's been quite since I visited Sushi 9, and I was surprised by the many changes they've made. The space has been refreshed, looking cozier and more elegant. Despite being busy, the food is served very quickly, and the staff are enthusiastic and always smiling at customers. The sushi and sashimi are prepared fresh and beautifully presented.

    Seaweed Salad
    Lewis H.

The miso soup was pretty bad, the seaweed salad was soupy and overly sweet, the wasabi was fake, the ginger was old and unrefrigerated, the tempura was premade so it was soggy and stale. Most importantly though, the rice was overseasoned (too much vinegar and sugar). Its a shame, because the fish was actually good quality. This place could be great, but they need a new chef. Good service, nice atmosphere, bad food.

All you can eat sushi? Can you say HECK YES!!!! Went here with the family last weekend because we all really wanted sushi, and had been wanting to check this place out. They have an all you can eat sushi special. Lunch pricing on the weekend is $21.99, and $17.99 for lunch on the weekdays. They have a dinner special as well!! Dinner is 27.99$ I believe on weekends. This is how it works: You basically go in- and order anything off the menu- depending on when you go (lunch or dinner menu). They bring out the food as you order, so you can have all the sushi your heart desires constantly. We started with some salmon and tuna nigiri. We had a bunch of this come out constantly. It was pretty good! We ordered some crab puffs as well to start our meal off, but they were okay. They tasted a bit stale. The rolls & other food we ordered- -Shaggy dog 10/10 ordered about 3-4 of these. Yum! -Shrimp fried rice- 5/10 tasted way too salty and was drenched in soy sauce. I could not finish it. But had to have my husband eat it since they charge for food not finished! FYI. -Sexy Girl- 8/10. Pretty good!! Was worth the try We also ordered a bunch of other rolls to try out I honestly can't remember the names. They were all pretty good. The sushi reminded me of HEB/grocery store sushi- not the most amazing, but still got the job done. I would give this place a 3.5/5, but putting 4 stars for the review.

2021March. Would rate 3.5, great service, decent food. $28 per person for dinner, drink/soda is extra. Sushi 9 in Katy offers all-you-can-eat sushi and Japanese by the order. The wait was about 30-40 minutes on a Friday night m. They are not a big establishment and don't have a ton of tables for dining. Once seated, service was pretty good. Seems like all staff members worked together and made sure orders were out and tables were clean. Employees wore masks and were courteous. Food selection from menu was decent for a AYCE place. We've been to other similar places that have more variety.

What is the lunch hours & price for AYCE during weekdays?

Lunch is before 3PM and price should be 17.99 per person

    All you can eat?

Yes, but don't go during peak hours. Service is much better during an early weekday lunch.

Do you get charged is you don't finish your order?

    Yes

For the ACYC are all the rolls with seaweed? Or can it come with soy paper?

Why would you want sushi rolls without nori?? The sashimi comes without wrapping.

How much do they charge for kids?

They charged us $10 for my 9 yr old and $6 for my 6 yr old.. They do not have any real kid friendly foods. They have a tiny plate with 3 nuggets at a time and a small plate of french fries. My kids will also eat teriyaki but theirs wasn't very good… Read more

What time would be the lunch specials?

    From opening until 1 or 2 I believe .

Does anyone have pics of the AYCE sushi menu along with price? I can't distinguish some of the blurry pics between dinner and lunch menu.

If you go to photos> menu>, Kim T lists the dinner menu. There's 2 pages. The price for dinner is $24.99 per person. I think lunch is like $14.99

I like the udon a lot even though the broth was a bit sweet for me. The tempura was delicious and perfectly fried. The hamachi collar was a large portion but a bit dry. We're used to having hamachi collar that is more buttery than what we had at twenty five. The sushi was ok too. Wasn't the best we've had but we expected that so we weren't let down by the sushi. After being seated, I informed the waiter that I would place a to-go order instead. About 20 minutes later, our food was ready. At that point, our daughter woke up, so we hoped to continue dining in as originally planned. I politely asked the waiter if we could finish our meal there. We didn't expect him to continue serving us--we simply wanted to sit and eat the food we had ordered. I had already tipped him on the to-go order. His response was blunt and shocking: "No, you have to leave. The table was given to someone else for a 7:30 reservation." There was no attempt to find a solution or offer an alternative--just a direct order to leave. This was a Thursday night, the restaurant was not busy, and there were outdoor tables and other seating available. We felt incredibly insulted by the attitude. When we spoke to the manager, he simply repeated that the table was reserved and backed up the waiter, without suggesting another table or even asking us to wait for the next available one, until we brought up the point that he could have asked if we have an option to wait for the next table?? Then the manager went ok do you want to have another table just because we asked. What stood out most wasn't the reservation issue, but the complete lack of hospitality, flexibility, or basic courtesy. This experience spoke volumes about the customer service here, and unfortunately, it's the reason we won't be returning.

Great service can elevate a dining experience, and this team absolutely delivered. Now for the sushi, and wow! You can tell there's real craftsmanship behind every roll that comes out of the kitchen. Each roll was beautifully presented, packed with fresh ingredients, and thoughtfully balanced in flavor. Too often sushi restaurants focus on appearance or oversized specialty rolls, but here the flavors were just as impressive as the presentation. Every bite felt intentional, with textures and ingredients working together perfectly. One unexpected highlight of the evening was trying rice beer for the first time. I'll admit I wasn't sure what to expect, but it ended up being one of my favorite discoveries of the night. It was crisp, refreshing, and paired exceptionally well with the sushi. I can definitely see why it's so popular, and it won't be my last time ordering it. Between the elegant atmosphere, exceptional service, expertly crafted sushi, and discovering a new favorite beverage, this was an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. Restaurants like this remind you that dining out isn't just about the food, it's about the entire experience. I'll absolutely be back, and next time I'll probably spend just as much time deciding which roll to order as I do admiring the presentation when it arrives.

Each meal was accompanied by a pleasant miso soup as a starter. Unfortunately, I think the entrees all fell a bit flat for us. All of my colleagues that ordered ramen thought they were okay. I ordered the Maki Roll Combo for lunch with the Eel Cucumber, Salmon Avocado, and Boston (shrimp, avocado, and cucumber) roll, and some of my colleagues ordered a special roll. Overall, I would say that the rolls are very small, and on the rice-heavier side. The specials are more sauce-heavy. There wasn't much fish at all and I was still hungry after eating the 3-Maki Roll combo. I'd say the eel was the best of them. We had minor service issues, where one of my party asked a question about the lunch special (it was mentioned that the Sashimi Lunch was non-substitutable) and the staff interpreted that as an order. They did not charge us for this, thankfully. One of my party reported food poisoning after coming here, but I could not say if it was related. Overall, it is relatively expensive for rolls that are not that special. I'd consider returning if I had a sushi itch and I was in the area.
