This is one of our favorite sushi spots - but we aren't in the area often so it's a special treat to stop by. Our most recent visit was on a weeknight. There was no wait and we were seated promptly. We were given 4 different menus to order from! So many choices-but it is possible some items were listed on multiple menus. It was a bit overwhelming. I finally decided on a special- 2 rolls + soup or salad for only $13. My husband ordered a Poke Bowl. Our food was outstanding as usual. Cool, crisp salads with my favorite creamy dressing. The tools I chose were delicious and my husband liked his Poke Bowl. The service was ok-there was this round plastic button thing on the wall and they told us to press it to order-we did-but we weren't sure if it worked and no one came right over. My wife and I have ate at the SH on 99 south of 1093 several times. So after a drs appt near this SH, we stopped in for lunch. We started with some peppered tuna and then got our main entree, the Navy Seal roll - tempura shrimp with avocado and jalapeños and cream cheese. Very good. Jalapeños were hot so wife had to pull some out - pickled might be better as fresh you never know how they are going to be. But no reason to know a star for that. Food was as to be expected. Now, on to the "ambiance"... table was way off balance, no slightly, I mean my glass of water was sliding from left to right in front of me. The wait staff talk extremely loud at one another over patrons. The English language is not only a 2nd or 3rd language, no one seems to speak it or care to. Welcome to a Cheesecake Factory level of menu selections without the advertisements. Very reasonable prices- salmon sashimi pieces were a little too thick for my taste -see pic of what we ordered. Service was great- just ring the bell when you are ready to order or get the check etc. No waiting to capture an eye. The chicken teriyaki bento was good with a lot of chicken, good sauce thick enough to stick but not crazy sweet. I got the veggie tempura but the coating was a little too soft and not crunchy. We will prob go back at some point since it's so near our house but with the sheer number of restaurants in Houston, it wasn't good enough to truly stand out in my mind. read more

Stopped by here for lunch on a random weekday to catch up with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. I will caveat that during this round, I only ate cooked sushi because I'm currently pregnant, so my review isn't quite whole. I did appreciate that they had a special of 5 cooked rolls for $35 which is great for someone with my condition. I didn't have to scrutinize which rolls I could eat and which I had to pass this time. We also tried the Hana special, and the 2 orders was way more than enough for 2 people, especially for lunch. The food was pretty standard, pricing was decent, and service was pretty quick. I did like that they did have some fatty tuna nigiri or sashimi that you could order. My friend said it was pretty delicious, so I'll have to take her word on it. So we go to Sushihana almost every Friday and sometimes during the week. They are normally very quick and give great customer service. However, lately they are getting a ton of to go orders and delivery orders which take precedence over the people in the restaurant. Tonight we went, and the business was very busy, but they had a ton of to go orders. One of us at the table, ordered sushi rolls, and two of us ordered pokey bowls. The sushi rolls came instantly, and the Poké bowls took over 30 minutes to get to our table. I asked the gentleman, our waiter, who was awful, if he couldn't see where our pokey bowls were, and his response was, well, I'm not the one making them. he then proceeded to go back in the back where they had been sitting and brought them to our table. Sushihana needs to understand that the clients inside the restaurant are just as or more important than the people ordering to go or door dashing. I love sushi Hana, but if this continues as it has been lately, we will not be returning. Our waiter had an attitude the entire time we were there, thought he was funny, but he wasn't. He gave me attitude every time we ask for a refill, or we ask, for food was after the table that sat down after us in the one behind us all got their food before we did. Dear sushi, Hana, you need to realize that we sitting in your restaurant are just as important as her to go orders and you're calling orders. Tonight's meal was unacceptable. They have a sushi bar where you can watch them make the rolls if you'd like. My favorite rolls are Charlie Sheen and Shaggy Dog. Honestly, you couldn't go wrong with anything on their sushi menu. We also order their bento box and a small chicken fried rice. The bento box is perfect for one person. It is plenty of food and it allows you to get a little of everything. You can also choose which sushi roll and what kind of rice you'd like. The small chicken fried rice is a big serving. It's large enough to feed one person. The large size could easily feed two. The chicken fried rice has lots of vegetables in it, which was a huge bonus, and the rice was the perfect amount of sticky. Oh, and everything is reasonably priced! This is my second time going here. The first time was ok so I thought I'd give it another chance because maybe it was just an off occurrence. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll but it should have been called a cucumber roll. The shrimp was the tiniest shrimp ever! I also paid extra to add cream cheese and crunch. The amount of cream cheese was ridiculously small I could barely taste it. Also, can you tell that there's avocado in the roll? It's barely visible. There were a bunch of rice and udon dishes as well. My friends and I got the cherry blossom combo which was 4 different types of sushi and 3 rolls, which meant around 48 pieces. Among 4 adult guys, it wasn't enough to satisfy and we all had to order an extra dish for ourselves. I'd say the combo is perfect for 2 people if both can eat a decent amount. If I could leave 0 stars I would. My mom, sister, girlfriend and I chose this sorry excuse of a restaurant to celebrate my girlfriends 21st birthday. We ordered a $35 combo of five rolls and at the end of the service we were charged with a bill of $140, charging us $20 per roll (we ordered apps as well.) The food was okay at best, and probably would have gone back had what I'm about to describe didn't happen. I calmly tell the server when the check comes that it is incorrect. She leaves, and the manager comes back over stating she called the police . We did not once say we weren't paying. We were confused and the manager did not once attempt to understand the misunderstanding. The server came back, calling my mom a string of slurs, calling her broke, the server also saying that she needs this money because she is a single mother of one. I got in between them when she started pointing her finger in my mommas face and told her she needs to chill out because my mom is also a single mother of three that has nothing to do with the problem we had. This woman across the restaurant heard all of this and went to the front and paid the tab and was wiping tears from my moms eyes while my girlfriend and my sister sat in complete disbelief of how fast this situation escalated. Absolutely past disgusting. Un-human. I noticed you took the reviews of my mother and girlfriend down that were also victims of your manager and server screaming that night. Instead of apologizing for making them both cry how any restaurant, or decent being, would. You post a fassad of an explanation. We did not ask to pay less we asked for an explanation of the receipt and there was not the smallest attempt in trying to understand our Mis understanding. Sushi Hana is our go to sushi restaurant in Katy. They are always consistent and have great portions, quality and presentation. My favorite is the Pink Lady roll, and my sons love trying different rolls each time. The menu is extensive. This time we went on Good Friday and it was busy. We only had a 5 min wait and the service was great as always. We had the garlic edamame, the shrimp tempura appetizer, Pink Lady roll and several other rolls. I have been waiting this entire week to do this review. If you care for customer service and a good experience, this is the worst restaurant to go to. I never write reviews but this experience was so bad, I had to write one to maybe help you not waste your money. Firstly, I forgot our waiter's name, but he was rude, and I felt hesitant to even ask him a question about the menu. When he brought our food, he put the plates down aggressively. I tried to ask another waiter a question and he says "sorry" and keeps walking, never trying to help me with a question. After the food which was sad, took too long, and I was already ready to go before then, we left. I did not leave a tip, and I accidentally took the wrong receipt and the rude waiter followed me outside. Such a rude an unwelcoming environment I will never return too. read more
