The no contact, distant, tablet ordering experience left much to be desired. We all felt our dishes lacked quality and flavor. This may be the worst dining experience in recent memory. We finally came in to eat lunch and had the all-you-can-eat lunch special. There's a 90-minute limit, which was plenty of time to try a wide variety of sushi and rolls. Let me tell you it was great. Saw this new place on yelp. Not sure how long they've been around but decided to give it a try. It was a decent place. We got burned by trying new sushi place recently so we were very hesitant but this place we can give it a pass. I liked their appetizers and sushi were decent. The only thing is their seaweed is soggy on every sushi. Service was good and off at the same time which wasn't consistent. Our family loves AYCE Sushi, so we decided to try this place out. We came here for lunch and it wasn't too crowded. They had a decent selection and food came out fairly fast. However, the waitress we had was not very friendly. She didn't smile or greet us and had zero customer service skills. Her personality was bland and she seemed as though she hated her job. I also felt that they were being very shady with their pricing. The entire time that we were there, and while I was ordering from the lil kiosk screens on the table, it showed that my son was being charged the child price. It stayed that way all the way up until I got the final bill; that's when I noticed that they had switched it to the adult price at the last minute. When I pointed it out to the waitress that she changed the price, she had the nerve to roll her eyes at me. Unprofessional and rude! Never once did she explain this, but apparently they only offer children prices if your kid is about 3 feet tall, otherwise they're charged the full adult fee. It didn't matter that my son barely ate and does not like sushi. I should also mention that he's very small for his age so their sizing is way off. They should just change it to six and under because anyone over six is going to be taller than their height requirement. Even though the only thing he ate was an order of their chicken karage/nuggets; they still insisted on charging my 8 year old $30!!!. It would have been nice if they had made it clear to me upfront that he would be charged an adult fee, but instead they kept the child price on the screen the entire meal and then switched it at the end. I don't mind paying and I don't mind tipping, but what I didn't like is the waitress' attitude and her switching it up at the last minute; that to me was very sketchy. Sadly, we thought we found a good little spot, but because of this experience, we will not be returning. read more

I like the "order on the tablet" feel as sometimes servers can be busy, so why not just send my order straight to the kitchen. The food came out in no time. (I do wish the tablet was clean after each customers' use). My hubby and I ordered the lunch combos. We got a chance to sample 3 different rolls and nigeri. The rolls were fresh. I placed a tnt to go order through Yelp last night and I was rushing to an activity so I could not open my food until I got there when I opened the bag I found a surprise- a baby roach. Called and asked if I could get this refunded and they were very dismissive told me to get help through Yelp and that it wasn't a big deal. I also had a friend let me know after this instance that she ate here and the fish was very fishy; made her sick. I believe it because it did have an odor when I opened my roll. This is our new Claremont sushi spot. Feels like authentic sushi and sashimi, with some flavor profiles that rival Sugarfish if you go for the right stuff. We've tried a number of hand rolls and sashimi and we have not been disappointed yet. Our kids love all of it too! I also like how the ordering is very akin to actual restaurants in Japan, where you order off a tablet. The servers were also very responsive. Plus the decor inside is very authentic modern Japanese.
