My wife, daughter and I went here a few days ago to try a new AYCE sushi spot in Upland near us! We had an incredible time! We walked in the front door for our 6:30 reservation and before we could even say hello the wait staff already had a hi-chair enroute for my daughter. We both did the AYCE and were shocked at the selection and most importantly, freshness of the fish. They didn't charge us anything for my daughter (under 2) and she ate off both of our plates. The space is a beautiful, airy dining space and they give every table a tablet to order food and drinks. Reminded me a little bit of the conveyer belt sushi restaurant chain I've been to before (just no conveyer and the fish was MUCH fresher) The Nigiri was some of the best Nigiri I've had in the IE, maybe LA. Super fresh, and unlimited with the AYCE. We also each ordered a roll and had a hard time finishing them because of just how massive they were. Like other All You Can Eat spots, they charge $2 per uneaten piece - although I don't recall getting charged anything for the 3 pieces we left on the plate. To be honest, I think they just do that to prevent people from having massive amounts of waste, which I understand. I also had a beer and this incredible Yuzu Saki. We had a phenomenal time and can't wait to come back soon!

An absolute hidden gem in Upland! I have been to so many AYCE sushi restaurants throughout LA and IE, and this one is THE BEST!! A MUST TRY!! Every single nigiri sushi was so fresh and full of flavor. The salmon and yuzu yellowtail nigiri were by far our favorites! The rolls were also great and unique combinations. Their appetizers (butterfly shrimp and poke nachos) also tasted very fresh and a nice palate cleanser after devouring so much sushi (the spicy edamame is TOO spicy lol) We were seriously blown away by all of the sushi options and the quality of the sushi! It was hard to believe that this is all AYCE. We left NO leftovers. We came on a Friday afternoon and it was only $29 a person for AYCE. An amazing price for the quality and the options that they offer. The inside is spacious, full of great decor, and the ambiance is very welcoming and modern. I loved how there are plenty of booth areas large enough to fit four people each. You order all on the tablet and the food is quickly brought to the table. Our servers were all great and brought everything we needed to us quickly. Located inside a shopping center, there is plenty of parking.

First time coming here for the all you can eat lunch special.. For $28.99 it's a pretty amazing deal.. They have a large selection to choose from and everything was so fresh! The lunch special is Monday - Friday till 4pm.. I couldn't say one thing was better than others, everything was pretty consistent. We were immediately greeted by the staff, friendly and quickly seated.. Everything on their menu is digital and easy to read.. This establishment has only been here for 5 months and has a very new industrial look. Clean and modern and the vibe is very chill. You owe yourself to give this place a try if you're a sushi aficionado!

This place is a good AYCE sushi! Went for dinner and we got cheaper choice of dinner AYCE and it already included sashimis with 1pp order limit which is fine because everything else in the menu is AYCE anyways. Quality was outstanding, food was fresh and delicious, service was great, restaurant had a nice ambiance, everything was perfect! ..But starting from now, I'm only going to give 5 stars to sushi places which good wasabi. Most AYCE places I've been to have weak wasabi. I might just bring my own from now. I really highly recommend this place. Oh and they also have tablets on their tables for ordering.

This is definitely the best ayce sushi place in the area hands down!!! The one suggestion i have is that I wish they had a kids menu because I have 2 children that do not eat sushi. For the kids, I have no choice but to order the bento box for them which is about $20 and they can't eat half of it. Other than the kids menu, the quality of their sushi is amazing. The rice to fish ratio is perfect. I like how you can order from the tablet and the food comes out pretty quickly even when the restaurant is at full capacity. My favorite items are the carpaccio, hand rolls and the Sashimi nachos.

We revisited less than a week later because we were craving sushi & wanted to try their premium option for dinner. All you can eat sushi, carpaccio & sashimi with high quality is such an amazing deal. Even the ratio of rice in the nigiri is great. Service was attentive as well. We're already planning our next visit. :)

It started with a reservation phone call. The person who answered the phone just asked for the time, date, and name. No phone number needed. We also did not need the reservation. The restaurant was quite barren when we entered. Nicely adorned with Japanese decor, we sat in the middle of the restaurant. Our waiter explained that they offered a premium AYCE for $47.99 which offered unlimited sashimi and carpaccio. We opted for the regular AYCE as we were in a sushi mood. Ordering was relatively simple with the tablet, and we could order every ten minutes. The only annoying thing was the constant pinging from everyone's orders. The majority of the menu was albacore based. Albacore, known as "white tuna", is the canned tuna one finds in stores. We skipped on all the albacore options and were left with some hand rolls, rolls, and appetizers. The spicy tuna was pretty decent in taste and quantity. The spice wasn't outlandish and the hand rolls were actually rolls versus the cone shape. The salmon collar was also delicious, although it was deep fried instead of the grilled. There were many critiques though. The "wagyu" wasn't truly wagyu and just beef. The amaebi was not sweet shrimp. The Cajun tuna seemed to be seared and then sliced and was seriously lacking in Cajun flavor; usually the fish is sliced, placed on the roll, garnished. And then seared so the flavor is absorbed. Their Cajun tuna was served cold. The unagi also seemed overcooked. Given that they are newly opened, there are some quick fixes which need attention before they can truly shine.

Found in the same parking lot as Whole Foods and CVS. We were a party of 2. Did the AYCE $38.99. I got full fast. I thought their sushi was fresh. The garlic edamame was different. It had a garlic goo all over it. Only 1 waiter on a Monday night. Spacious inside. I would come back but with a bigger group. Also wish they would give a fountain drink for free with the AYCE price.

This is a great spot in the Whole Foods shopping center where Mod Pizza used to be. Super clean, lots of seating options, large menu, and great service. Ordering is done on a tablet, but custom orders are super easy with your server. We will definitely be back. This was a great addition to this center! We also noticed some great M-F lunch specials as well that we can't wait to check out.

My wife and I were looking for a new place to try out and this came up. We came in during lunch time but it was the MLK holiday so we had to pay the full dinner price of $38 for AYCE. Looking at the Lunch menu, they seem to have great deals priced at $17.99 (have to check it out next time) First is that the place looked very inviting, clean and organized. Service was generally fast. The selection for AYCE was decent with various rolls, appetizers, sushi, and carpaccio (limited order) . Rice to fish ratio was great on the sushi and rolls. The rice less rolls were also per generous in size. There were some rolls that I think had too much sauce that over powered the first, but I guess we could have asked to be lighter on the sauce. Overall good value

This is our new Claremont sushi spot. Feels like authentic sushi and sashimi, with some flavor profiles that rival Sugarfish if you go for the right stuff. We've tried a number of hand rolls and sashimi and we have not been disappointed yet. Our kids love all of it too! I also like how the ordering is very akin to actual restaurants in Japan, where you order off a tablet. The servers were also very responsive. Plus the decor inside is very authentic modern Japanese. Will definitely be a regular sushi spot for us! read more

Saw this new place on yelp. Not sure how long they've been around but decided to give it a try. It was a decent place. We got burned by trying new sushi place recently so we were very hesitant but this place we can give it a pass. I liked their appetizers and sushi were decent. The only thing is their seaweed is soggy on every sushi. Service was good and off at the same time which wasn't consistent. Overall not bad but I'll probably try to find the one where we can settle down for the best sushi spot. read more

Great service. The tablet makes it super easy to place and order, and they have gluten-free soy sauce for the gluten free community lol. They offer all-you-can-eat sashimi along with a great selection of sake options. Everything tasted super fresh. Definitely worth the drive. Hopefully they have a Valentine's Day course dinner. read more

Food was great, service was okay, waiters not very attentive on drinks the tablet ordering system is not a good idea, confusion takes long to order and I was getting over charged. And it died or turned off on us. Let's go back to the sushi ordering way with a pencil and sheet of paper. read more

Tried this new sushi place last night with high hopes but was not impressed. Sushi was fine... nothing special. Miso and ramen were bland. Ordered a few items that never came out then needed to ask for. Server brought out doubles of items we already received. Some wait staff were not very friendly. For $39 a person and $20 a kid there are better options for the same price. Will not be returning here. read more

Z Sushi in Upland is a great new sushi spot and we were honestly impressed. They just opened and everything felt fresh, clean, and well thought out. If you're looking for good sushi in Upland or all you can eat sushi this place is definitely worth trying. The food was really good and came out super fast. They have a cool iPad ordering system so you can send items to the kitchen at your own pace, which made the experience easy and fun. They offer all you can eat sushi for lunch and dinner. Lunch is $28.99, dinner is $38.99, and there's also a premium all you can eat option for $48.99 if you want more variety. They even brought out a complimentary dish, which was a nice surprise. The vibe was modern and welcoming, the restaurant was very clean, and the bathrooms were spotless. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive without being too much. We were excited to try this place for the first time, but it was a letdown. The wait for our food was way too long, and everything didn't come out at once, some items were missing altogether. Our waiter barely checked on us, which made the whole experience feel ignored and frustrating. Not a great first impression, and unfortunately not somewhere we'd be eager to return. What a wonderful experience! We went for AYCE lunch, and we were not disappointed. The sushi was fresh and delicious! They made ordering easy with the table tablet, and we were able to pace ourselves nicely. My favorite appetizer was the pumpkin taro balls. Z Sushi is a great new option in Upland/Claremont. The food was fresh and delish. We loved the sushi, rolls, appetizers, and ramen. The AYCE option is a great value. My daughter doesn't like sushi so she went al a carte with very reasonable prices. She was very happy with the tempura and ramen. The ambience is chill and comfortable. Came here for the premium AYCE which includes sashimi and some premium items and was genuinely so impressed. This area has been in dire need of an AYCE spot like this. Their fish is fresh and their fish to rice ratio is excellent, which seems to be a problem around the area. They also have a pretty good selection of appetizers, including fried soft shell crab (!!!!) which I don't see too often on these kinds of menus. On top of sashimi, Premium AYCE came with the option to order 1 nigiri each per diner for sweet shrimp, scallop, wagyu, and toro. They have a good selection of categories to order from as well, including the normal fare like classic rolls, hand rolls (which are served in holders vs the cone which is how I prefer them), tempura rolls, and baked rolls, udon/ramen dishes, but they also had a section for no rice rolls and carpaccios for all my low carb baddies who don't want to get the premium AYCE or come for lunch. Also loved that I was able to order my food on a tablet because it was easy to keep track of everything and add and remove things before putting in my order vs ordering with a person which sometimes things get missed or I get self conscious putting in a huge sashimi/nigiri order (I've had people question me before when I put in an order of 10 salmon nigiri that there are 2 per order so I would want 20 and I'm like ...yes...I do...because, hi, I'm Brittney and I'm addicted to salmon lol). Inside is nice, bright, clean, and well decorated. Everything I ordered was delicious and can't recommend this place enough! read more

Last night (2/18/2026), my fiancée and I decided to try Z Sushi after another restaurant nearby completely dropped the ball -- and we are so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the difference was obvious. We were greeted immediately, seated quickly, and the staff was genuinely welcoming. The waiters were attentive without being overbearing, constantly checking in at the right times and making sure we had everything we needed. It felt like they actually cared about the experience. The sushi itself was significantly better than we expected. Everything tasted fresh, well-prepared, and high quality. Yes, it's a little more expensive than some of the all-you-can-eat spots around, but you absolutely get what you pay for -- better ingredients, better presentation, and much better service. As people who just moved to Upland in September, we've been trying to find our regular sushi spot. Z Sushi definitely earned a return visit. Great food, great service, and a genuinely pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend. read more

We came here with my family craving sushi and left extremely disappointed. None of the appetizers, rolls, or baked rolls tasted good, and nothing seemed fresh. The food quality was very bad, and we even left hungry because we couldn't enjoy it. On top of that, the service was awful, only one server for the whole restaurant, very slow, and it was hard to communicate because they didn't seem to understand much. Definitely not worth it and we won't be back. read more

this place was recommend by a family friend and i was not disappointed! the main thing that makes this place great is it's AYCE and SO EASY to order. they have ipads at each table and you order through them. everything is categorized and when you click on an item, you get a description of it (which i love bc you don't always know what's inside or outside of the rolls) the service is fast, the severs are friendly, and the sushi is fresh. my favorite nigiri was the crispy onion albacore and cajun tuna but all of them were just as yummy. the rice to sushi ratio is better than most places. the baked rolls are also delicious! the lemon love roll is super refreshing with the hint of citrus from the lemon. the poke nacho appetizer was SO GOOD! even the miso soup is freaking delicious. the place is clean and spacious. the lunch AYCE is $28.99 which is A STEAL, especially if you can eat a lot lol. they also have lunch specials that come with rolls, salad, soup, and a drink. i would definitely recommend z-sushi! it's definitely become a favorite of mine! read more
