Miracle-workers. Not that I'd recommend spilling bike grease and olive oil all over a shirt, then use WD-40 because you read that could help get it out but only made it worse... But after bringing my shirt to Koretizing, it's good as new! I have been searching high and low for a good, reliable dry cleaner for years, and I'm settling here. This is a horrible dry cleaners. I had a couple of clothing items cleaned here with no problem, other than the high price. Then I brought my fancy winter quilt to them to be cleaned. The owner woman said it would take a long time to dry, so I waited an extra week to pick it up. I took it home in it's loose plastic stapled bag and put it in my clothes closet upstairs for the summer. When I took it out yesterday, it stunk like mildew!!!! I called the owner and calmly explained the problem, and she got very defensive and said, 'we no do again!'. So I calmly brought it in to her to smell for herself and she had a tantrum stating that nothing in her store smelled like that and it must be my fault. She yelled at me to go smell all the other quilts they had just cleaned...awkward! Hmmmmm. I will have to take it to another 'normal' cleaner and PAY AGAIN! DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

I went there to drop off a very intricate shawl. From previous reviews I felt this was the place to go because I wanted it to be carefully taken care of. When I got it back, it looked clean and didn't have the chemical smell but when I got home it had a snag. Honestly, I don't remember if it was already there but it would have been nice to be told. I recently had my wedding dress cleaned and preserved at Koretizing Cleaners. I have had various other items dry cleaned here in the past and trusted they would take great care of my wedding dress. They did not disappoint! The sweet lady explained the entire process to me. She looked over my dress when I dropped it off and asked if there were any problem areas she needed to focus on. Thankfully my wedding was indoors and I managed not to spill anything, so there were any glaring areas that needed to be cleaned specifically. (Though I will say, she has gotten off some gnarly stains on some of my other clothing, so I'm sure she could on gowns, too.) I dropped it off, paid a reasonable amount and came back a few weeks later to see my beautiful dress cleaned and on a hanger for me to look over. That was such a great surprise because I hadn't seen my dress in all its glory since my wedding day. Once I looked it over, she explained it would come in a box with a little window so I could see the dress. This would then be in another box that I could tape up, if I wanted. I am so blown away by the timeliness, professionalism and genuine care that I knew I had to write a review. Service has been quality since I started coming to them last year. Not only is the dry cleaning organic, but the owners are also friendly and make the customer experience enjoyable, ranging from their expedient service of next day pickup (same day if you drop by early) to 10% student discount to their wide range of services. When necessary they fixed any rips, made alterations, and even offered to deliver my clothes at my apartment, due to my busy schedule. After a few months with absolutely no issues, I brought a group of dress shirts home to find a fresh 10-12 inch rip in one of my shirts. I immediately took the shirt back to Koretizing, at which point the owners vehemently denied any wrongdoing (I expected this). Knowing that said rip undoubtably would have been caught when the owners first examined a fresh dirty batch of shirts, I was skeptical, and our back-and-forth argument started with Koretizing offering to repair the shirt (it was certainly damaged, but wearable to some extent) and ended with a concession of a credit for future service. All of this was fine; I left and felt like I received decent compensation. When I returned for the repaired shirt a few days later, the owners claimed they no longer had it. I was shocked -- in no way was this communicated to me (if it were, I would have asked for cash, not store credit, and double what they had offered). I felt the owners were quite unprofessional throughout this process. I understand that fessing up to damage compensation is not good business, but I expected better customer service than that which I received. In few words: Mediocre, expensive, and unprofessional If the owner seems pretty nice at first, once I was there they were starting to talk on the back of a customer that was heading out on how he was not realizing how it is expensive to own a business bla bla bla... Anyhow so that is not the main issue, main issue is that not only this shop is very expensive but they are offering horrible service!! They were completely unable to remove a "normal" collar stains on my white shirt that I paid 5$ to get cleaned. The other blue shirt came back with a terrible press all so wrinkled on the collar and sleeves. For some reasons I also let them altered a nice suit of mine; bad idea! The alteration job was awful and it cost me twice more than a real tailor (that I went to couple days after). I would have done a better job myself on all these aspects (and definitely should have had) even if I am so bad at ironing that I burn my fingers every single time I try, but I still do a better job!!! And if the lady was nice at first she was now pointing at my shirt and blaming their inability to clean the shirt I left them on me! And how my clothes were stained in red (even if there was no red on my white shirt) I was apparently responsible of bringing them a Normally dirty shirt (that any dry cleaner have always been able to clean in a breeze)... So never use them if you have dirty clothes to clean... they apparently are specializing in cleaning already clean clothes... read more

Do. Not. Go. Here. The owners are really nice, so I gave it a few tries, but I am SO wishing I hadn't. Not only have I gotten a number of sweaters back with holes in them (seriously, its like they all got caught on the same thing, all the holes are really similar) but they also lost an ENTIRE order of my clothing. I could tell them exactly what i dropped off and when and with whom and the clothes are just gone. Finding a good dry cleaning place in Durham is a huge challenge. I've been to this place multiple times because honestly they do a decent enough job and I can't find a better place to go. Most of the time I have no complaints. One time they "over pressed" my nice black pants so now they have a weird sheen look on top around the waist. I didn't notice it until a few days later otherwise I would've said something. They also chipped a button on one of my sweaters. Ugh. And still they are one of the better places to go in Durham!! I've tried others and read other reviews. I think what brings me back is that I really like that they are organic and don't use chemicals...I hate that smell!! The owners are also really really nice and appreciate/notice when you come back. They also give a small discount if you're a duke student...which helps cause they are pretty pricey. I have a 100% silk top with a beaded collar that I need dry cleaned...but I think I'm just gonna wait until I go home to CA to get it cleaned!! The rest of my clothes I'll take here. In Durham for two years for grad school at Duke; needed a good dry cleaner. This one was actually recommended by a previous grad student (not through Yelp). Koretizing Cleaners is fantastic--the staff are always really friendly and they take good care of the clothes. I didn't really pay much attention to prices but it seemed in line with what I've always paid for dry cleaning. Very disappointed at the lack of care and customer service I received from our local dry cleaner! I am a routine customer and have used this service several times, however, I suppose their poor quality can find anyone. I recently dropped off my king size comforter to be spot cleaned and 'fluffed'. I was asked to pay $60 up front. A few days later I picked it up from the same girl whom I had dropped it off with a few days earlier. She had assured me it look great and that the areas of concerned had came out. Once I got home and put it on my bed, I couldn't believe what I saw. My comforter was completely ruined!! In the very center the material was gathered and puckered. The stuffing inside was hard as a rock and 'crispy' almost as if it had been burnt! Completely unusable! I called the store the following day and spoke with the manager, Ms. Day. Without even telling her my name, only bringing up small details about a king comforter, she knew exactly who I was. I can't even begin to explain how rude this woman was. She took no fault in what she had done. She even went so far as to blame it on the manufacturer of my comforter. She stated that she works 90 hours a week and at times doesn't have the times to read every single tag on the item brought in. Excuse me?? Doesn't that immediately put fault on you? After back and forth trying to explain my side, she still took no accountability for her mishap and offered nothing of value to me. I ask if I could at least have my $60 back in cash and she said no, that the only thing she could do was store credit. I tried to explain to her that store credit was of no value to me because I would not trust her with any more articles of mine. Finally, after several minutes of her yelling at me, she hung up on me. Amazing service! I came into town for a wedding and discovered a brand new pair of pants had a small stain. Checked Yelp and found these guys and went straight over. I explained I needed the pants back the following day if at all possible. The owner was very understanding and said I should come back after three the next day. I picked up the pants at the appointed hour and the pants looked great. I then got into a lengthy discussion with the owner about the stain and the dry cleaning business (way too much info;) and even got a tour of the back room with their totally organic German-made cleaning machine. Bottom line, great attitude, Eco-friendly, and the price was reasonable. I'm just passing through, but if you're a local, you should definitely give them a try. read more

As a male, I can only speak for men's clothing, but from my experiences this is hands down the best dry cleaner in Durham. I've tried a few, namely the ones on 9th street and have been disappointed. Don't waste your time anywhere else, go here! Listening to Supti (the owner) explain to me why I needed certain shirts pressed one way, and my suit dry cleaned as well as pressed truly demonstrated her desire to serve the customer the right way. I don't post much, but was really impressed with Koretizing. I'm a grad student at Duke and have tried a few other sub-par cleaners in the area. I brought a bunch of shirts into these guys and they were very friendly and fast. On pick-up, the woman told me that she cleaned a few of my shirts twice in order to remove some long entrenched stains. I'd never heard of that before, but the shirts look better than they have in years. I was blown away by this service.
