I've been going to Elegance Cleaners 4 years. They do an amazing job on shirts, alterations and overall cleaning.

Terrific service and friendly staff. Everything done well and in a timely manner. They also do minor alterations.

I always get great service here! My clothes come back clean and they perform the service quickly.

I had a nasty feather duvet. My cat peed on it, I tried to wash it but the wet and the feathers were a bad combo, and it got musty. Then I let it dry outside, but it got dirt on it. I brought the foul smelling, dirty queen sized feather duvet here, and for $35 I have a good as new duvet. Will be returning the next time my cat confuses my bed with a litterbox. read more

I love this place. The woman who runs the shop is lovely. I had a huge grease stain on my favorite shirt and she got it completely off. As a college student, Elegance Cleaners is also very affordable. I have tried other cleaners in Chapel Hill and this one is by far the best. Pros: convenient if you live in Meadowmont. Cons: -seems expensive -always takes a long time to find your account -long turnaround -lots of button damage They ruined two of my dress shirts and gave me 40 dollars store credit. Once I spend that I won't go back. read more

The people at Elegance Cleaners are friendly and extremely helpful. I have taken a number of difficult pieces to them (a pleated chiffon skirt, very delicate tops, etc), and they have cleaned them beautifully. I have also had them sew some torn clothes, and they did that perfectly as well. A dress I got cleaned there came back a little smaller, and when I told them about it, they took the dress back and were able to stretch it back to its original size. Free of charge, of course. I'm very glad to have found some cleaners/seamstresses that I think are truly great! read more

I think their dry cleaning service is perfectly acceptable; however, their customer service is not. I went today to pick up a dress that I had dropped off to be dry cleaned. They said they had done an alteration on it- which I did NOT ask for or approve- and then charged me for it. I told them that I wasn't going to pay for a service that I didn't ask for, but they charged me anyway. $10 for a loose hem? I could have fixed that myself for free! read more

I'm pretty picky about my dry cleaners, but Elegance does a great job. My clothes always look great and the staff is friendly and professional. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's a tad pricey, but a good choice if you are looking for a place to trust with nicer items. read more

I've used this dry cleaner several times and, while they are very overpriced, I didn't mind for the convenience. Recently. they said they did not have one of my shirts ready with the rest of my order. I came back weekly and they kept saying they were still working on it. finally, they admitted they had lost it. While I understand that accidents happen, the manner with which they handled the situation was awful (hence, the one star). The owner was incredibly rude. He would never call back or contact me when he said he would. He seemed to place the blame on me, and was mad at me that I didn't keep the receipt for the shirt I bought months prior. He stated he could not give me a refund because I didn't have a receipt, even though I explained that most people don't keep the receipts once they wear and love something. I ultimately gave him a copy of my credit card statement with the price. After repeated phone calls and nagging on my end, he finally gave me 50% of what I had paid for the blouse 3 months earlier. I am surprised I received any payment at all in the end. He was mean, disrespectful, difficult to work with, and doesn't care about his customers. I will never return to this dry cleaners and suggest you don't either. read more

They are very harsh (or something) when cleaning clothes, so my clothes often come back a little shrunk and stretched out. I have had 3 pairs of pants either shrunk or with the waistband ruined. Even after mentioning it the first time I noticed this problem, nothing changed. They are a bit overpriced, which I wouldn't have minded if they were good (although they wanted to charge $20 to fix a tiny hole in a seam in a shirt--that mark-up was appalling to me). read more

I took a jacket in here to get cleaned because I accidentally left a fish-oil capsule in the pocket...you can imagine how that went when I washed it at home. My jacket now had a fishy smell that I couldn't get out by simply laundering at home....yuck! I tried this cleaners because it was in a convenient location from where I work. I dropped it off on a Tuesday and came back the following Monday to pick it up. When I picked it up, there was still a fishy smell to it which I explained to the lady working. She said "it's okay, it looks good!" To which I replied "I don't care if it looks good I don't want to smell like fish and you didn't get the smell out". She kept insisting it was okay and told me to "wear it outside and let the fresh air get the smell out"..... well if it was that simple I wouldn't have brought it here in the first place! I asked her to try running it through the cleaner again and she said she would charge me full price so I said "but you're charging me full price now and didn't get it cleaned" but she kept insisting it was fine, when clearly it wasn't. I ended up paying full price for absolutely nothing. Terrible customer service and they do not guarantee their work! Will never come back to this cleaners...waste of time and money! read more

I have been using this dry cleaner for 4 years. Recently a part of garment was lost, but I decided to give them one more shot. When I returned to pick up my items, I was told that one item was not ready after I had paid in full. I returned a second time to pick up the item more than a week after I had originally dropped it off. I was informed that the garment was still not ready, despite it being more than 24 hours after I was told it would be ready. When I asked for a refund, the cashier made a phone call and put me on the phone without any explanation. The man (who I later learned was the owner) began to yell at me, used disparaging language, and insulted me and my clothing. I hung up. He proceeded to call back and yell at the staff. I refused to take the phone and the staff placed him on speaker phone. He continued to yell at me and deny my refund. I hung up. He called back and continued with other customers in the store. This continued for more than 30 minutes until I left without a refund and without my garment. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

My husband and I used this dry cleaner for two years and thought it was OK. Not good, not bad. It was more about convenience. Three and a half weeks ago they ruined a white J. Crew jacket that I owned for only 3 months. I picked it up and from the elbow down it was covered in blue. When I dropped the jacket off for cleaning, I pointed out a small yellow food spot on the same sleeve, not a blue spot. The woman at the counter said the blue stain was from ink on my sleeve that I caused. There was no ink on the jacket when I dropped it off, only a small yellow food stain. They asked to have more time to try to re-clean it. They stalled for time as many on Yelp are saying. They could never clean it. It took over 3 weeks to get my jacket back.The woman called the owner while I was in the shop the last time and had him talk to me. He was so rude and disrespectful -- interrupting me as I tried to explain that the stain was not from ink I got on the sleeve, but something they caused. While living in Atlanta, a former dry cleaner that ruined a skirt, turned in the skirt to insurance and paid me a fair amount for the ruined item. I even have the receipt for this jacket and the owner refused to reimburse me for their mistake. DO NOT try this cleaner. Customer service is nil. read more
