Fun shopping experience with well stocked shelves from around the world…read more They now have Chinese, Mexican, Caribbean, Korean, African and other food shelves. We lived in China from 2011 to 2020 and this brings back all the fun of Chinese markets with friendly people, lots of Chinese and other languages spoken here. It is a melting pot of international shoppers! Great variety of cooking greens and specialized mushrooms. Also Asian style pots and pans, bowls, plates, and odd kitchen devices. Vegetables are much higher quality than a place like Shnucks and cheaper too! Enormous variety of frozen dumplings, stuffed buns, onion cakes, and others-and they're great and I buy them! Can't recommend this place highly enough.

I really love to try international market, especially when they offer a lot of fresh produce. I…read moreused to always go to seafood city until they shut down and get produce, sauces, and noodles. I like to look up recipes while I'm in the store for things that I don't know how to use them. This encourages me to try new things and there is a lot of that in the store. So much that I would have to go back five or six times a month to even get a month full because there is so much stuff that I want to try. I highly recommend checking the store out if you are a foodie or chef because it will definitely make you a talking to your creativity!

If you look too closely, you will notice that it's not exactly the cleanliest, there's not a lot of attention to detail in the atmosphere and someone is usually smoking downstairs which drifts up into the dining room and is quite unpleasant. I only really notice it when seated at a table that borders on the staircase. My favorites are the shrimp long noodles and they pour a nice sauce over it and cut it with scissors for you, the shrimp and chive fried dumplings that the server brings in the cart that rolls around and makes for you, the salt and pepper shrimp or calamari, the pickled cucumbers, & the duck. Service is always friendly although there is sometimes a language barrier. Parking can be tricky, but it's worth the effort.

We were in for an early lunch Sunday with that spring forward nonsense. And we loved picking things from the steamer cart and others. The flavors are awesome as are the textures. Different dumplings for different things and I got a few pics but missed others. I find the carts are great for meeting hunger where it is -- quick and can order as you eat rather than order all up front. Going with a bigger group is lots of fun for all the things you can try but even with just two of us a range of small plates really hits the spot. The cart folks check in often til you say no more for a while but appreciate that the owner also checks in.

I've been a regular at Cate Zone Chinese Café for a long time and usually go once or twice a month…read more I always order the crispy fish and mala tofu, and up until recently, I loved this place enough to justify a 30 minute drive. Unfortunately, my most recent visit completely changed that. I went on Sunday, 11/23, the weekend before Thanksgiving. I worked from 6-3 that day and placed my usual order online around 1:00-1:30 pm for ASAP pickup so I could grab it before their lunch break. I even left work early to make it there. When I arrived around 2:40 pm, I was told my order wouldn't be ready until 5:00 pm and that I would have to come back. I showed them my order confirmation, which originally showed a pickup time around 2:50 pm. Even when I refreshed the website, it showed 3:30 pm, still nowhere near 5:00. The cashier, a young man, was dismissive and didn't seem to care at all that my time had been wasted or that the information given online didn't match what I was being told in person. This was extremely frustrating and honestly unacceptable, especially for a place I've been loyal to for so long. I wasted my time, left work early for nothing, and left without food. As much as I've loved Cate Zone in the past, this experience was enough to make me question whether I'll be returning.

However, I will tell you that Eddie turned it around. He was incredible. Sure, normally wait staff will tell you "oh yes great choice" so I asked if he would actually tell us if things were bad. Now, he didnt say anything was bad, but he did say he felt this other dish was better than what a person ordered because it had more flavor and yada yada. A honest man. Love to see that. Japanese Curry = Little spicy, but great flavor. Yum. Wagyu and bacon bao = amazing. Get it. Pork belly boa = a little dry, bummer. Fried shrimp boa = good. Fries = 100/10. Perfectly crispy. Amazing. Also a little thing, but the light on table had three different settings and I just really appreciated that. Treat yourself to this small restaurant tucked away in Clayton and go visit by boy Eddie.

We had reservations but it was so cold we went early praying that they had open seating. We were in luck the bar was open. Inside it was swanky, I liked the aesthetic. if you are looking for a place that's ultra private, this isnt it. but it would be an awesome date night. The bartender was welcoming and open. I was enthralled as they made the cocktails. They answered random questions and helped us picked something for our palate. I had the Paloma (Palo-Ho-HO-Ma) it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! i mean like go just to get one of those. Then i had the sweet chili popcorn tofu. That was also good. Next I had Tom Kha. Refreshing spicy creamy soup. almost licked the bowl. Then i chose three different bao sandwiches. chicken, the pork belly, and the shrimp tempura. All the sandwiches were great, but after all the food i ate i was so full i couldn't appreciate them like they deserved. Now all the food AND the drink was for $40.00 You see I gave them 5 stars. I usually don't do that and this was my first time at the establishment. The food was so good that I started talking to the persons next to me at the bar and looking at their food selection. I will definitely be back . Are you still reading this, why aren't you in the car driving there yet.
