Fresh produce at great prices - loved the selection
    Fran M.

Found a little gem today that made my home cook self very happy! Wandered into this Asian market and discovered food treasure! Amazing selection of quality produce at great prices! They had a wonderful meat department with fresh, frozen options of a wide variety of proteins. I also loved that they have quite a selection of home goods / kitchen equipment. Some of the shelves had English translation. Some did not. A lot of items were unknown to me -- makes me want to learn other languages just so I can shop more widely here! The shelves were well stocked, and the aisles laid out as you would expect for a grocery store. There were aisle signs in English, which helped me immensely find what I was looking for -- loose teas, noodles, fresh produce, spices, and proteins (I decided to make broth - fingers crossed!). The parking lot was super busy on a Saturday afternoon with folks of all ages and backgrounds. I needed careful maneuvering around all the people and cars coming and going -- that tells me it's a local favorite. Love it! I was just really happy with the quality of the items, along with the amazing international selection that I bought for the price. I'll be visiting again to explore!

This is a large Asian grocery store that has pretty much everything you'll need from fresh seafood, meats, produce and non perishable items. The have a big selection of frozen items, liquor and houseware items like steamers, woks, bowls, plates, etc. The store is clean and well organized. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it.

    Now with BBQ Meats section!!

Decent sized and well lit supermarket with a lot of neat Asian ingredients. The fruits smells fresh and meat section is limited but has the essential pork cuts I like (spare ribs, pork belly etc). I love the location because I can shop at 2 asian supermarkets simply by crossing the street! Also, we visited earlier this week & they now have a BBQ section! For those unfamiliar, this include daily roasted duck, crispy pork & bbq pork. Menu and prices in picture.

Vegetables, " can't have bags for them"

I just had the worse experience at Olive Supermarket. The Customer service is a 2 out 10 please don't be African American on a Wednesday night at this store. The cashier was extremely rude, I had vegetables and couldn't find any bags where the vegetables were.. i found some later after walking around the store so i just sat them in my cart. As i approached the register, the cashier yells " YOU CANT HAVE THOSE" .. i explained that i needed them for my vegetables, he says " you can have one, here" no thanks for coming.. not even a receipt. 0.5 out of 10 i don't recommend.. imiss Seafood City, never had this experience there

It's relatively big in size and lots of isles to walk.. it's kind of shady chinese grocery store that has some expired products laying around. Some mochi I bought tasted old and dry. They don't have a lot of produce like fruits and vegetables. They are really good if you're looking for Asian style meat--like thin pork belly, sliced rib eye, chicken feet, chicken liver, pork ear, etc. they have a huge fish section in the back if you're looking for seafood. (But there's a huge seafood market across the street so might as go there)

Great prices on specialty items not likely to find at your chain stores. There is a fish smell but they offer fresh fish and seafood.

The first thing I noticed was the size. Even before entering, I knew it would not have the selection JJ has. When you're looking for something you need from across the pond, it's adequate. They had bangers, Irish bacon and a few Knorr packaged sauces that we can't get anywhere but JJ. They had 85% dark chocolate bars, but they didn't have our favorite English hard candies (Cadbury and Walker's and Morrison's eclairs). IMO they had too much American food that could be bought at any familiar grocery store - but they're good in a pinch! P.S. they had fairly large selections of Indian and Asian foods, but I don't know a lot about those.

There were tons of other snacks and a lot of Asian specialty items as well. Nice to have a store anchored in a busier area and near the university. What a nice idea and so nicely presented. My cat enjoyed sitting on the wrapping paper. I've only unboxed one (the other is a gift). I don't want to spoil the mystery here, but I will add that I was a little disappointed that there were no chips or crackers in the box. However, the box value seemed quite good.

Also, don't be afraid to ask employees questions, they'll be happy to assist. My last visit, I was with a friend who was shopping to make spring rolls and he got assistance from a little old Vietnamese lady who was a customer herself. Listening to her explain all the detailed steps made us both smile. Be smart when shopping the canned goods, some items can be more expensive. However, the fresh vegetables are always a good value. The meat department makes me cringe, but I know that is just me being quirky. My friend gives it a thumbs up. Customer service is okay, nothing outstanding and nothing bad. It's just okay. The international selection is truly impressive, and it's the main reason I keep coming back. That said, the store could use a little TLC. While I've noticed improvements over time, it would be even better with a deeper, more consistent clean. The staff gets the job done, but a bit more warmth and friendliness would go a long way toward making the shopping experience as inviting as the selection itself. Bottom line: I'll keep shopping here because the variety is unbeatable, but I'm hoping to see the atmosphere match the amazing products on the shelves.

This Asian grocery store is mostly what you would expect of a small grocery store. When I say…read moresmall, it's of an average smallness. Bigger than a convenience mart, much smaller than a Schnuck's. This grocery store is nestled into a very nicely kept shopping plaza. I'm rating the East East Oriental grocery store 4 stars because it's well lit, decently organized and is reasonably easy to find the things you might need, as long as you know what you're wanting. With that said, I found the selection a bit limited and some prices higher than expected. I visited this grocery store to stock up on a few things to help me make Sushi rolls. I got the Nori sheets I wanted, the primary reason I went there. However, it was from a brand that I don't normally use. That's what I mean by limited. I actually prefer the Yamamoto brand, but they don't carry it. So, I guess I get to try a new brand. I also picked up pickled Daikon, miso paste, tofu, pickled ginger and dried seaweed (Wakame). I was hoping to find some dried tofu, but they don't have it. You can get dried tofu as part of some miso soup packet mixes, but I wasn't looking for that. I also didn't need Furikake, wasabi, rice or Kewpie mayo, but they do carry these. On the flip side, they do not carry the small jars of Huy Fong Vietnamese garlic chili sauce. They only carry the larger size. I prefer the smaller size, but only because it takes me a long while to get through even that sized jar. For powdered Wasabi, I only recall seeing relatively large bags at around $20. That sized bag would last me years. On the plus side, the store does have a decent amount of dinnerware including ceramic bowls. If you're looking for larger sized bowls for Pho or Ramen, they do carry these. They also have a reasonably good selection of various Asian brand canned meat and fish. They also have a smallish section of fresh produce. As for prices, they are often on the higher than expected side. 100 sheet package of seaweed is around $25. That's actually a decent price all things considered. That makes it $2.50 for 10 sheets or $12.50 for 50 sheets. This 100 sheet package is way cheaper than buying 10 sheet packages. Furikake is around $4.50 or so, just a tad pricey. Keep in mind these are 2025 prices. Your mileage may vary. If you're looking for something specific like a sauce, there's a decent chance they'll have it here. Overall, I would definitely shop here again when I'm running low on Sushi fixings. Though, at 15 miles distance from home, it's a bit of a trek.
