This place claims to have a variety of Asian foods, such as Thai, Indian, Nepali, and Chinese. Quite honestly, it was an absolute disappointment. The Nepali Pork Momo was disgusting. I hated it and didn't finish it. The meat tasted processed and the flavors were overwhelming. Nothing about tasted authentic or fresh. My chicken wasn't bad and the flavors from the grill were great, but unfortunately it was very dry and even though it was dark meat which cooks pretty fast, I assumed that this chicken was either pre-cooked earlier in the morning or the night before in order to be ready so quickly and cooked all the way through. I guess I shouldn't expect too much in an area such as this for Asian food since this is not a predominantly Asian area, but I was still hopeful. The people who work there were extremely nice and they worked very hard.

I had the day off of work so I wanted to go catch the all you can eat buffet! It's normally just weekdays and during the hours I work. So I was excited to get to check it out! Sam and Rose greeted us with a smile. They are so kind. They allowed us to switch to our usual table once the patrons finished their meal. I tried a little bit of everything on the Buffet. They have white rice as well as fried rice (not the same as you get from Chinese restaurant, but good!). Every.single.thing.had amazing flavor!!!! I am a butter chicken lover so of course I enjoyed that. But the tandoori chicken and darzeeling potatoes were incredible!!! The lentil soup is packed with flavor and has a bit of a kick to it. So good! Even their rice pudding was full of flavor and creamy consistency. I believe the brunch is about $15. Great value and ready to eat, so a quick lunch is possible. Go try this place out! Or get it delivered. You're going to love it!

Tofu drunken noodles and curry in the background.

We ordered massaman chicken curry, chicken pad Thai, tofu drunken noodles. The Indian tea was the best we've tasted. The drunken noodle was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of heat ( I ordered level 3). My husband loved his curry and my son finished his pad Thai in record time. And don't forget their garlic naan. It was made while we were there. So delucious. Can't say enough about their food and the people are so polite. The restaurant is nothing fancy but don't let that fool you. The food was worth it. I give them 2 thumbs up!

This place never disappoints. The food is excellent and full of flavor. The owners, Rose and Sam, are such sweet people, and they run a great restaurant. They are originally from Nepal and we've been to Nepal and India. Their Nepalese and Indian food is authentic. We have tried many different Nepalese and Indian dishes, and they have all been delicious. They have a buffet at lunch, and it's wonderful. You can still order off the menu at lunch if you prefer. Be sure to order momo (Nepalese dumplings). Oh, so good. And the dipping sauce kicks up the flavor even more. The service is always great. Restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is welcoming. Give Yummefy a try. You will be glad you did. The street parking can some times be difficult, but there are parking lots across the street that gives you easy access to Yummefy.

I wanted to try a place I had never been to before, so I chose yummefy. I'm so happy I did!!! Their menu is hugeeeeeee, it tooo me forever to decide what I wanted lol. I ended up getting the shrimp pad thai and mango lassi. Omgggggg, that pad thai was absolutely delicious. The portion was so big I was able to make it dinner. The mango lassi was so refreshing on a hot day in Birmingham. I will definitely be back to try other menu options

Soooo good! Food was full of flavor and high quality. We got the coconut soup, spring rolls, naan and a couple different curry dishes. All were amazing. We will be back! Parking was easy and it was close to the interstate which made it a great stop.

Yummefy is a sweet family own business located in downtown Birmingham near the hospital system. Always attentive and quick service. They have a variety of dishes available on the menu. We enjoyed the pad Thai and coconut curry. The mango lassi was incredibly filling - we wish we would have shared one to leave more room for our food. For dessert, I am a huge fan of ordering the mango mochi! Perfect for a quick and casual lunch break of dinner.

Back again for more Yummefy! Sam and his wife took care of us all again. I have since dropped rice from diet so they gladly swapped gave me some delicious veggies. Anderson and drunken noodles, and Nikolai went butter chicken. Split a couple baskets of Naan, boba, and some mochi! Everything was outstanding!

Fusion indeed, authentic Indonesian and Nepalese cuisine. Great food served fresh, hot and fast. The food was only surpassed only by the service. The atmosphere was so welcoming. They treated us like family. We even made some new friends from Canada! 10/10 recommend

My friends and I came in for an early dinner--the restaurant was quiet but relaxed and cute inside. The man who served us was super helpful and kind, and our food came quickly and was delicious. We started with buttery, fluffy naan bread, but the mains were absolutely the highlight. This place is a Nepali/Indian spot but has more general pan-asian options as well. I was worried about being unadventurous but got the drunken noodles at the recommendation of the owner, and it was genuinely the best iteration of the dish i have had. The flavor had much more depth than the generic, sometimes overly sweet sauce typical of americanized chinese cuisine. I ordered it medium spicy and found it fairly mild. My friends also loved their meals--Ghorkali chicken and tandoori chicken. Totally recommend this spot!

David L. and I had lunch today at Yummefy. The restaurant was not busy, and we were seated promptly. The restaurant has a casual family-run atmosphere. Service was just okay because our waitress was difficult to understand. She is very soft-spoken and has a strong Asian accent. There is no lunch menu, and the dinner portions are big for lunch. On our visit, the food was served in to-go containers so it was very easy to take the leftovers home. I ordered the Spicy Himalayan Chicken and thought it was just okay. The chicken had a thick batter that really masked the chicken. The sauce was spicy and a hint of sweetness. It is stir fried with vegetables and served with rice. David ordered the Spicy Mountain Noodles with shrimp. I'm assuming this is a Napali dish. The dish is similar to Chinese stir-fry noddles, but the sauce is dry. This dish was spicy and we liked the flavor. I was disappointed because the shrimp were very small. As a bonus, if you check-in on the Yelp app you get 10% discount. Unfortunately we did that but forgot to use ours.

Me and my mom wanted to try something different so take this review as a complete novice review. We ate inside and spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out what to get LOL. However, we chose to try the chicken dumplings (momo) and i ordered drunken noodles with shrimp and my mom got the dragon chicken stirfy. The momo was delicious along with the dipping sauces but I was not pleased with the drunken noodles. There was one ingredient that was completely off putting for me; however, the owner listened and i told her i wanted what my mom ordered and she was super polite and caused no issue to get that fixed. She also helped us understand the meals we inquired about before ordering. The dragon chicken stir fry!!!!! DELICIOUS. Comes with a side of ride and loved that the chicken was mild, not spicy. I think next time i will sit outside or do take out. The decor was nice but not my style (or shall i say my faith) BUT nonetheless, good experience

The food was great but the service was phenomenal! I didn't stay to eat because I wanted takeout, but the ambiance was cute and I could see myself loving a sit down meal here. The owners are Nepalese, and I will say the Nepalese food is a 10/10! They gave plenty of sauces with the momos, and the himalayan chicken was a perfect spice level! The drunken noodles were good, maybe an 8/10. I am also very pleased with the portion sizes for the price - tasty and you get good bang for your buck! I do want to add that the owners made even our take out experience wonderful - they are so friendly and very sweet/easy to talk to and while I loved the food I may just come back to talk to the owners again! :) Definitely put this place on your list.

Another excellent addition your list of Thai restaurants in Birmingham!…read more They've only been there for 6 years and I finally made it. Even though I didn't dine in, I appreciated the beautiful decor and the attention to detail. Gone from their early days during the pandemic when they were take out only to their newly renovated and larger dining area. There's nice bar with stools nearly centered in the restaurant. Employees are more friendly than you can imagine. Located on 280 near the Greystone entrance, YYST is on the right in a small quaint strip shopping area that's raised "above" 280. So if you're driving by you can see YYST by looking up. There's no outdoor seating, but plenty of tables and chairs inside with seating at the bar. They are quite proud of their Yelpies 2025 award for "Beloved Birmingham Business" which sits at the front entrance. Their menu is comprehensive with the right amount of dishes to satisfy. Every "Thai" place seems to have their own take on most dishes and YYST is no different. Their "recommended" entrees include Mango fish, Pad Thai Chakangrao, Massamun Short Rib, Pad Thai Wings and Panang New York Strip. Then they also have "Signature Plates" whose menu descriptions had my mouth watering. There's also stir fry, curries, salads, and even a lunch menu. Since I wasn't dining, I was going to do my litmus test and try their version they call Beef Drunken Uncle noodle. I also ordered their Fresh Basil Shrimp Rolls, and Bangkok market fried rice. I waited at the bar for about 10 minutes when my packaged meals arrived. I was offered a glass of cool water as I waited at the bar. The rolls were wrapped in saran wrap and I would guess were probably made a couple of days ago. Nothing wrong with that except I got unlucky and rice paper wrapper was almost crunchy. They were a little heavy on the use of lettuce, but each had 4 large fresh shrimp. The taste wasn't anything spectacular BUT their version of the dipping peanut sauce saved it. Yom Yom Yom! The fried rice was delicious. Tossed in a wok with eggs, onions, chinese broccoli and their house sauce, I had beef added as the protein and it was delicious. My Drunken noodle was very good! This traditional street food inspired dish is a classic. Wide noodles tossed with snap beans, garlic, onions, bell peppers with thai chili and basil, their version is quite good! It had great flavor and an excellent representation of the drunken noodle. Next time I might have to pay extra for a fried egg on top. Yom Yom Yom Yom! I'm glad I finally visited YYST. I am looking forward to returning and this time dining in. The Panang New York Strip and Mango Fish have my name on them!

Great service, lovely decor, impressive playlist, delicious wings and refreshing drink. I like that they offer mocktails and serve in generous portion compared to many places. The Zaap wings are a must if you're a wing person. I am not a huge wing person. We got both dry and sauced to start--both yummy. I'm a big fan of Thai food so I've had really good Thai food and sub par. The crispy spring rolls were good but pretty standard like most restaurants or what you can buy in the frozen section. I ordered Drunken Uncle noodle with chicken but it wasn't even "tipsy" lol - not a ton of flavor nor moist enough to be drunken. Edible but Kinda pasty and lacking so the 3-3.5 rating factored in to my overall is mostly due to my noodles but the rest of the experience I am pleased. Maybe I just didn't order one of their best entrees. When my friend had her basil fried rice dish redone with no egg she loved it, and it looked good too. She got it with tofu. Before that something was off but the staff was very accommodating and kind. They wanted to make it right so she'd be pleased and she was. We took our moms out on Mother's Day weekend as a treat, and they seemed to enjoy their whole fried snapper which comes on a bed of lettuce with rice & sauces on the side. The three flavor fish comes with 3 sauces and there's also a mango fish. The location is convenient and I'd return to try another dish or one of their curries. They were running a unique set of menu items especially for Mother's Day weekend but it included food items none of us eat.

I don't think that this place was what either of us expected, which was a restaurant where you ordered from your table. Instead, this place had a more 'hole in the wall' vibe, but in a generally good way. They had about 6 tables total in a fairly small space.
