This place claims to have a variety of Asian foods, such as Thai, Indian, Nepali, and Chinese. Quite honestly, it was an absolute disappointment. The Nepali Pork Momo was disgusting. I hated it and didn't finish it. The meat tasted processed and the flavors were overwhelming. Nothing about tasted authentic or fresh. My chicken wasn't bad and the flavors from the grill were great, but unfortunately it was very dry and even though it was dark meat which cooks pretty fast, I assumed that this chicken was either pre-cooked earlier in the morning or the night before in order to be ready so quickly and cooked all the way through. I guess I shouldn't expect too much in an area such as this for Asian food since this is not a predominantly Asian area, but I was still hopeful. The people who work there were extremely nice and they worked very hard.

Butter chicken and garlic naan

I had the day off of work so I wanted to go catch the all you can eat buffet! It's normally just weekdays and during the hours I work. So I was excited to get to check it out! Sam and Rose greeted us with a smile. They are so kind. They allowed us to switch to our usual table once the patrons finished their meal. I tried a little bit of everything on the Buffet. They have white rice as well as fried rice (not the same as you get from Chinese restaurant, but good!). Every.single.thing.had amazing flavor!!!! I am a butter chicken lover so of course I enjoyed that. But the tandoori chicken and darzeeling potatoes were incredible!!! The lentil soup is packed with flavor and has a bit of a kick to it. So good! Even their rice pudding was full of flavor and creamy consistency. I believe the brunch is about $15. Great value and ready to eat, so a quick lunch is possible. Go try this place out! Or get it delivered. You're going to love it!

This place never disappoints. The food is excellent and full of flavor. The owners, Rose and Sam, are such sweet people, and they run a great restaurant. They are originally from Nepal and we've been to Nepal and India. Their Nepalese and Indian food is authentic. We have tried many different Nepalese and Indian dishes, and they have all been delicious. They have a buffet at lunch, and it's wonderful. You can still order off the menu at lunch if you prefer. Be sure to order momo (Nepalese dumplings). Oh, so good. And the dipping sauce kicks up the flavor even more. The service is always great. Restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is welcoming. Give Yummefy a try. You will be glad you did. The street parking can some times be difficult, but there are parking lots across the street that gives you easy access to Yummefy.

I wanted to try a place I had never been to before, so I chose yummefy. I'm so happy I did!!! Their menu is hugeeeeeee, it tooo me forever to decide what I wanted lol. I ended up getting the shrimp pad thai and mango lassi. Omgggggg, that pad thai was absolutely delicious. The portion was so big I was able to make it dinner. The mango lassi was so refreshing on a hot day in Birmingham. I will definitely be back to try other menu options

Soooo good! Food was full of flavor and high quality. We got the coconut soup, spring rolls, naan and a couple different curry dishes. All were amazing. We will be back! Parking was easy and it was close to the interstate which made it a great stop.

Yummefy is a sweet family own business located in downtown Birmingham near the hospital system. Always attentive and quick service. They have a variety of dishes available on the menu. We enjoyed the pad Thai and coconut curry. The mango lassi was incredibly filling - we wish we would have shared one to leave more room for our food. For dessert, I am a huge fan of ordering the mango mochi! Perfect for a quick and casual lunch break of dinner.

Drunken Noodles

Back again for more Yummefy! Sam and his wife took care of us all again. I have since dropped rice from diet so they gladly swapped gave me some delicious veggies. Anderson and drunken noodles, and Nikolai went butter chicken. Split a couple baskets of Naan, boba, and some mochi! Everything was outstanding!

Fusion indeed, authentic Indonesian and Nepalese cuisine. Great food served fresh, hot and fast. The food was only surpassed only by the service. The atmosphere was so welcoming. They treated us like family. We even made some new friends from Canada! 10/10 recommend

ghorkali chicken

My friends and I came in for an early dinner--the restaurant was quiet but relaxed and cute inside. The man who served us was super helpful and kind, and our food came quickly and was delicious. We started with buttery, fluffy naan bread, but the mains were absolutely the highlight. This place is a Nepali/Indian spot but has more general pan-asian options as well. I was worried about being unadventurous but got the drunken noodles at the recommendation of the owner, and it was genuinely the best iteration of the dish i have had. The flavor had much more depth than the generic, sometimes overly sweet sauce typical of americanized chinese cuisine. I ordered it medium spicy and found it fairly mild. My friends also loved their meals--Ghorkali chicken and tandoori chicken. Totally recommend this spot!

Himalayan Chicken

David L. and I had lunch today at Yummefy. The restaurant was not busy, and we were seated promptly. The restaurant has a casual family-run atmosphere. Service was just okay because our waitress was difficult to understand. She is very soft-spoken and has a strong Asian accent. There is no lunch menu, and the dinner portions are big for lunch. On our visit, the food was served in to-go containers so it was very easy to take the leftovers home. I ordered the Spicy Himalayan Chicken and thought it was just okay. The chicken had a thick batter that really masked the chicken. The sauce was spicy and a hint of sweetness. It is stir fried with vegetables and served with rice. David ordered the Spicy Mountain Noodles with shrimp. I'm assuming this is a Napali dish. The dish is similar to Chinese stir-fry noddles, but the sauce is dry. This dish was spicy and we liked the flavor. I was disappointed because the shrimp were very small. As a bonus, if you check-in on the Yelp app you get 10% discount. Unfortunately we did that but forgot to use ours.

6 piece chicken Momo - 6 Pieces - 6 Piece

Me and my mom wanted to try something different so take this review as a complete novice review. We ate inside and spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out what to get LOL. However, we chose to try the chicken dumplings (momo) and i ordered drunken noodles with shrimp and my mom got the dragon chicken stirfy. The momo was delicious along with the dipping sauces but I was not pleased with the drunken noodles. There was one ingredient that was completely off putting for me; however, the owner listened and i told her i wanted what my mom ordered and she was super polite and caused no issue to get that fixed. She also helped us understand the meals we inquired about before ordering. The dragon chicken stir fry!!!!! DELICIOUS. Comes with a side of ride and loved that the chicken was mild, not spicy. I think next time i will sit outside or do take out. The decor was nice but not my style (or shall i say my faith) BUT nonetheless, good experience

Chicken Tikka Masala! Very flavorful and pork MoMo 6 Piece.
Jada C.

I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was very flavorful! Better than I expected:) I also got an order of the pork MoMo and it was good too. Not sure how I felt about the sauce they come with but I still enjoyed both dishes. I ordered Togo but from what I saw the restaurant is clean and service was quick. Will be going back!

Peshwari Naan.

Bring yo self to Yummefy. The food here is amazing. Even if you're not a fan of this type of food you will love it. I got the Himalayan Chicken and Peshwari Naan. It was so good I got a to-go order of the Naan to take back to Georgia for my wife. This will be the Birmingham spot for me.

The service is *excellent* with a capital "E." We ate at the bar, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about every single aspect of the restaurant. They have tried everything on the menu themselves. They can describe any one of the imported liquors up on the wall. These are real deal professionals who illustrate just how important the people in a restaurant's front truly are. The food? Delicious. It's a wild grab bag of East Asian fare - Chinese, Japanese, Thai - and it's all done extremely well. The portions are small, which is good, since you'll want to try half a dozen things on Current's very deliberately thought-out menu. The Peking Duck is some of the best I've had. The cocktails are also excellent, with my favorite being a delicious, earthy combination of coconut, lime, and pandan. It's like an extremely upscale tiki drink. I cannot recommend this place enough. We went for the "favorites" menu which a $65/person was an absolute steal. You get two starters, dumplings and cured red snapper is what was offered. Two entrees, the bo ssam and banana leaf wrapped redfish, and one dessert, the miso tart. Everything was quite good and more than enough food. The dessert was a real winner. I thought about it days after. Looking forward to going back.

And of course they had me at poke bowls. It's one of my top 5 things to eat, honestly. But I ordered a Buddha bowl because it's almost the same thing and I felt a little lazy to DIY (not to mention, the Buddha bowl looked tantalizing!) They have other veg options, but I set my sights on that bowl as soon as the friendly counter guy suggested it. It's overloaded with goodness--avocado, deliciously marinated tofu, edamame (yes, it's a protein-rich bowl), tomatoes, shredded carrots, diced cucumbers, greens and more. You're literally devouring the rainbow here, friends. For drinks, they have a modest but decent selection of beer, wine (a decent bubbly in a can!) and sake in addition to soft drinks. What a pleasant experience!…read more I ate here one afternoon as part of a self-care day. Upon entering, I immediately felt as if I were taking part in a celebration as I took in all of the vivid colors and decorations that adorned the space. I was warmly greeted, and taken to a table that had been freshly wiped clean. My server was very sweet and recommended several appetizers to start my dining experience. She complimented my handbag and we shared small talk over the uniqueness of it. She also brought out chilled tap water that I requested and poured it into a small glass. I decided to try the lavender lemonade and I'm happy I did. It was glass of my favorite childhood drink served in a restaurant. The lemonade was sweet as if my mama made it and the lavender added just the right pizazz to the drink. Plus it was a pretty drink! I loved the fresh flowers that added an elegant touch. Now for the main course. I opted for the drunken uncle noodles with beef lunch special that includes a complimentary crispy roll. The roll could've been a tad bit warmer, but not a deal breaker. It was still tasty with just the right amount of crunch. The star was the drunken uncle noodles. They were absolutely delicious! Great service, lovely decor, impressive playlist, delicious wings and refreshing drink. I like that they offer mocktails and serve in generous portion compared to many places. The Zaap wings are a must if you're a wing person. I am not a huge wing person. We got both dry and sauced to start--both yummy. I'm a big fan of Thai food so I've had really good Thai food and sub par. The crispy spring rolls were good but pretty standard like most restaurants or what you can buy in the frozen section. I ordered Drunken Uncle noodle with chicken but it wasn't even "tipsy" lol - not a ton of flavor nor moist enough to be drunken. Edible but Kinda pasty and lacking so the 3-3.5 rating factored in to my overall is mostly due to my noodles but the rest of the experience I am pleased. Maybe I just didn't order one of their best entrees. When my friend had her basil fried rice dish redone with no egg she loved it, and it looked good too. She got it with tofu. Before that something was off but the staff was very accommodating and kind. They wanted to make it right so she'd be pleased and she was. We took our moms out on Mother's Day weekend as a treat, and they seemed to enjoy their whole fried snapper which comes on a bed of lettuce with rice & sauces on the side. The three flavor fish comes with 3 sauces and there's also a mango fish. The location is convenient and I'd return to try another dish or one of their curries. They were running a unique set of menu items especially for Mother's Day weekend but it included food items none of us eat.
