Finally got around to trying Yumee Katsu! It was pretty busy but we got were able to get seated and order pretty fast. The staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the Toppoki Katsu and the Curry Katsu. Both came with banchan (sides) and some miso soup. The cutlets were tender and had a satisfying crisp. Both the curry and topokki sauce were solid but nothing special. The sides as well as the miso soup were also very good. Overall very solid place if you're looking for some katsu. Came here with a friend for an early dinner around 5pm on a Thursday and there was only one other table occupied when we got there but quickly filled up later. The space was beautiful with basket lights, neon light signs, and KPOP music videos playing on the TV. The ladies serving us were so friendly and helped us decide on what to order by explaining the menu. They were also so attentive throughout the meal and check out is table side which was great. We got the Assorted Katsu to try some of everything and the Katsu Curry Udon because my friend never had Japanese curry before (she loved it!) Everything was fresh made to order in house with different sauces for dipping and kimchi and pickled radish to balance out the fried goodness. It's no surprise that our favorite was the OG pork Katsu but the cheesy one, chicken, and the shrimp were all crispy and juicy. It looked like they had a lot of other specials too so we will definitely be back to try more things! When you enter you wait to be seated & although some mentioned about ordering at the counter, we got ours taken at our table. They run a smaller menu featuring Korean street food. We were seated quickly, the restaurant still has resemblence of the previous Korean restaurant, with some new fixtures, signs, and displays. The tables were a bit squeezed, so the place felt a bit cramped. Menu is pretty straight forward and we ordered a three different items for the three of us. The portions are pretty big, and all of the katsu were fried to perfection. Overall the food are delicious, the sides pair well with the katsu, the curry is also delicious. Located in a complex with plenty of parking space. When you enter, there's plenty of seating and you get this upbeat vibe from the K-Pop music. This place is still fairly new from what I was told so when I came, they had me sit down, order, and pay all in one go before my food came out. They made sure to constantly check in with me throughout my meal. They were super friendly and answered any questions I had. I got the King Don Katsu and it had so much crunch to it that it got pretty messy. There was panko everywhere and I felt bad as I was eating the dish. I'm a big fan of curry udon especially after having it at Marugame Udon and this place made it just as good as Marugame did! For the Japanese-style katsu, I think it's just okay because the breading tends to fall off bottom side and the meat is sometimes less soft/juicy. But the Korean and fusion katsu options are really good with very tasty sauce. Staffs are friendly, and the food comes out fast. The atmosphere is lively with pop music. New katsu place in town! Parking is pretty tight especially if you plan to come during peak hours. There's adequate seating to accommodate different party sizes. Not really stroller friendly though but you can easily place your car seat in the bench seat if anything. Order your food up at the desk, grab your number, and pick your seat. We decided to get the assorted tempura to try out their variety and the shrimp katsu curry. Cheese katsu: deep fried cheese with I think ham? I would say if you pair it with a sprinkle of their salt that they serve on the side, it isn't bad. But it's just straight cheese. Chicken katsu: the breast itself wasn't seasoned, so you definitely need to sauce it up or sprinkle a little of their side salt. The chicken isn't dry surprisingly. It's a huge breast! So the issue for us was that it was just very bland and they only give you a little bit of Katsu sauce on the side. Shrimp Katsu: was just straight shrimp tempura. Nothing special there. All their plates are served with rice, salad, soup, and, sauces. Expect their noodle dishes. Which they have udon, soba, and tteokboki. I would say, not bad of a katsu place. But we will say we've had better katsu. It is very aesthetically pleasing and fun! They have a huge "king katsu" which is the size of two hands put together. Such a fun experience. Oh my gosh I came in on a whim after seeing a post on Instagram and boy am i glad I did. The portions are HUGE! Even eating and sharing it with another person we couldn't finish. The kimchi has a great flavor. additionally you get a fish cake soup on the side that was delicious! I got the tteokboki katsu, while my partner got the fish katsu. I think my favorite was the fish katsu because the fish they used was so flaky and plump! The tteokboki katsu was good but I think the pork could've had a littleee more flavor added to it.
