Got to try this spot with a friend. The server was very friendly and attentive. Favorite dish I tried has got be a pork tangsooyuk!! It's nice and crispy on the outside with tender meat on the inside, texture is very nice! Also appreciated that we can get the sauce on the side for the meat, my friend isn't a huge sauce fan so it worked out perfectly! Thought it was neat that they make the noodles fresh here, can definitely taste that in the noodle quality. The seafood jjambong reminds me of shin ramen, if you like a shin ramen broth with handmade noodles you will enjoy this! Will say my friend said that the mussel seemed to have a bit of sand in it... The restraunt itself is a little small, but definitely a neat place to check out!

We couldn't get a table on our first attempt, and thankfully we had one more day in our vacation weekend to come back "early" as the super happy and helpful manager recommended. This place is bustling, and the manager said "korean mama made us so busy!" Well, The Korean Mama was right to recommend this Chinese/Korean noodle place because it is so good! The noodles have great texture and the sauces are not so salty. We had fun watching Korean tv while scarfing down our meal. It felt like we were eating at home. So comforting. And the manager remembered us and was so sweet, she hugged us and thanked us for coming back. We will be coming back the next time we stay in Portland. It's worth the extra drive to Beaverton!

My favorite cozy comfort meal in Portland! I always get random cravings for this place and it has NEVER disappointed whether I come in person or order online. My favorites are: Pork Tangsuyuk, Wok n Guys Jjajeongmyeon, and their summer special the Seafood Cold Noodle Jjampong (I dream about this dish). Their portion sizes are SUPER generous and are usually always enough to last me a couple meals. I've taken many friends visiting me here and they all rave about this place as well. I just had this meal yesterday as of writing this review and am already looking forward to coming back! This is definitely my go-to spot for Korean Chinese fusion.

Ordered the Pork Tangsooyuk and Rose Jjambong. +1 for the creativity in offering more unique dishes and flavors than the typical Korean restaurant. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 3.5/5 Ambiance: Casual Overall, the dishes taste good and give a homey taste. What's more memorable is the dish offering rather than the taste itself for me. The service was standard, water was refilled, but nothing that would scream 5*. I'd come more often, but I do feel that the portions aren't large and the cost does feel a bit pricey. However, to be fair, Korean food is pricier in general. I'd come back to try more, but I won't be running back here.

Wow! I haven't been here in years but wow! Crab legs and body in the jjambong! Egg on jajjang! Everything was delicious and they know we're going to share. Upgrade to lobster jjambong if you want! Just amazing. Quick service, knowledgeable staff. Great date lunch

I think I've been here a decade ago haha and didn't find it a wow so didn't come back. However, I think they've changed management and all and many people started saying it was good so I decided to try! I went with a few friends so we each ordered our own food and shared one plate together. My friend whose Korean recommended some dishes for me. This was not a "Korean" restaurant but a "Korean Chinese" restaurant. The Jjajangmyun caught my attention and I ordered one with beef. It had a nicely fried egg on top and the portions were great! I was able to enjoy it the following day. The sauce and flavor was something I enjoyed. This was more savory, not like other places where it's usually more sweet. The noodles were bouncy and it had a lot of toppings in the sauce. We ordered fried pork to share and the way it was fried was super unique and good. It was light but the batter was nice and crispy. It was also very good with the sauce but I didn't always dipped it because I found it more flavorful in general! Overall, it was very good and recommend it!

They keep bringing in new menu items and my cuisine crush deepens! A lovely surprise is their sweet and sour pork with the sauce on the side. You keep coming back to the sauce like a Kdrama addict on binge mode in love with IU... you just can't get enough... When "Wok air" is achieved in stir fry, whether you are at a high end place or a hole in the wall, you make your mark. Oh man they know how to do it with their fried rice dish. I challenge you to find better on the west side these days.

I knew about this place for a while through the countless social media reviews and tried to come here an hour before they closed. Sadly, they told us they couldn't seat us because their tables were all full and they were backed up with orders. The lady was very apologetic so we understood. Now, every time we decide to eat here, we always make sure to arrive right when they open or before the lunch or dinner rush. After our first visit, we understood why. The Jajangmyeon, rose tteokkbokki, and the tungsuyuk is always consistently delicious. My husband likes the orange chicken and son always craves their cream fried shrimp. My personal favorite is the rose treokkbokki. Portions are filling and enough to share with 3-4 people. Service is quick and attentive.

This place is really good! Ordered 4 different dishes and all of them were super yummy! Service was amazing!!!! She was super nice and attentive. The place is a little small but we came at a good time and were seating in less than 5 min. We will definitely come back.

So glad I finally found a good place for Jjajangmyun (black bean noodles) & Jjambong (red seafood noodle soup). Originally Chinese dishes, Koreans like them so much it's become kind of Korean cuisine as well (w/ Korean twist) & in Korea there are many Jjajang/Jjampong houses. I've tried these dishes at a few other places in Portland but have always been underwhelmed in terms of authentic flavor & amount/variety of seafood but this place checked all the boxes. Also, portions are HUGE. Side note: they have different versions of both dishes like seafood Jjajang & white, rose or even beef Jjambong which I didn't even know was a thing haha. Also they have some other classic stuff too like katsu & spicy pork stir fry. I never usually go back to places, especially ones far from me but I might go back to try that white Jjambong I'm kinda curious about (but if you've never had it before try the classic seafood Jjambong first).

Pork Tangsooyuk was hot and crispy, with sweet and sour sauce.

On a cold and wet night, we tried Wok N Guys because they were highly rated online for their Korean-Chinese food. Since it was stormy outside, we were the first dine-in customers of the evening. The Owner came over to seat us and offered us hot tea to warm us up. We talked about the menu and her recommendations. The owner said she was very proud of her Korean-Chinese food (it's hard to find good Korean-Chinese restaurants) and recommended that we try several dishes family style, even though there was only two of us. We ordered the Jjambong (seafood stew with noodles), the Jja Jang Mien (black bean noodles), and the Tang Su Yook (fried pork with sweet and sour dipping sauce), which turned out to be way too much food for us as each dish was huge! We had plenty of leftovers to take home which was great. Each noodle dish came in a large soup bowl and filled with ingredients. We got a lot of shell fish, octopus, and crab in the Jiambong. You can customized the spiciness which I really appreciate. The Jja Jang Mien was also filled the top with black bean sauce, pork, potatoes, and other vegetables. I loved the "wok hei" flavor (high heat stir fry) on the noodles and couldn't stop eating them. The tang su yook was deep fried to perfection and the dipping sauce was sweet and sour, with a bit of cinnamon added to it. We had never have tasted a cinnamon forward in this sauce before and we liked it. Overall, we were so glad we tried Wok n Guys as the food was delicious and the owner was really nice. We would definitely return for more delicious Korean Chinese dishes!

Only complaint is that, like Franks, they close for a couple of hours after lunch so you have to check your watch if you are hungry to make sure they will be open. But I can certainly understand why they do this. They open at around 11:00 and close up at 21:00 so that's a lot of hours unless they are running more than one shift. Ordering can be a tad obnoxious and they are clearly targeting a hipster clientele. For those of us who are hearing disabled and do not have a cell phone the QR code ordering scheme can be a total turn off. They will, however, accommodate senior geezers like myself who enjoy not being tethered to a screen. So that's another plus for Franks: an actual person seats you and takes your order.

Typically at most Chinese restaurants, especially fried dishes, you'll see a pool of oil at the bottom of the dish. This is not the case here, and their sauces also keep their oil usage to the minimum. The food doesn't feel as heavy, and they nail most of their Szechuan flavors well. Their service is always fast and friendly. There is a gentleman in glasses that is always happy to serve and answer your questions. He is always happy to pack your food for you to go if you have leftovers as well, which is a lovely gesture. They have very cute decorations inside, from lucky cats with fortune cookies in their mouths, or a painted wall with a Panda cooking delicious food. I'd steer clear from their soup dishes, most of them lack flavor. I highly recommend their Chopped Pepper Fish and their Jade Tofu items though. Very flavorful and not very heavy! Before coming, I did my homework and checked reviews on Chinese review website. The opinions were kinda extreme, some said it was terrible, others said it was amazing. Since it was only a 1 minute walk from my hotel and actually open on Thanksgiving, I went for it. I ordered jalapeño beef 小炒牛肉, veggie chow mein 蔬菜炒面, and string beans 干煸四季豆. The beef came out first, and the first bite surprised me. It didn't taste like the jalapeño beef from other Sichuan restaurants. It tasted exactly like Cantonese beef with gailan, but with green bell peppers instead. Instead of tingly spicy, it had a subtle sweetness. If you're Cantonese, you probably know exactly what I mean. The veggie chow mein was good and reminded me of late night street noodles in Guangzhou, and it also had a slightly sweet touch. The string beans were good too, and didn't have any sweetness. There was some savory minced pork in it. If you're not a strict vegetarian and don't mind a little meat in the dish as long as you only eat the veggie part, go for this one, it was flavorful. While having dinner, I overheard Cantonese in the kitchen between the chef and staff, and ahhh, that explains why I tasted the Cantonese flavor in my dishes! It also explains the two types of extreme reviews. So let me be honest, if you come here expecting the Sichuan/Hu'nan version of stir-fried beef with a strong spicy profile, you might be disappointed. But for me, it was honestly a lucky hit. I did see some Sichuan spicy dishes on the menu, but I didn't order them, so I can't say if they're authentic. But based on what I ordered tonight, I was happy with everything.
