We ordered food for 80+ people for a Lunar New Year celebration last week. The team at China Town was great to work with, suggest options, and accommodated a last minute addition to the menu! Our party guests are still talking about the food! We had fried fish, bbq pork, fried rice, lo mein, sweet and sour pork, Mongolian beef, orange chicken, cashew chicken, Ma po tofu, veggie delight, and my favorite honey walnut shrimp! Can't wait to have the team cater for us next year too. PS although I can't vouch personally, I have heard great things about their lunch time dim sum!

General Tso Chicken, Lunch special portion

Chinatown Restaurant was on my list of local restaurants to visit, this week I was in the area and dropped by during lunch time, the few other times that I have attempted to visit they were so busy that I could not take the time to wait. Today I did not have any wait time at all, as you walk up to the Restaurant is it nestled within a shopping plaza with many other asian style restaurants, its right across from the Geico insurance building. The Interior is huge, I did not realze that they had so much seating space, they also have a lounge. I was greeted by a very friendly staff member, she quickly as me to select a seat. I was provided a lunch menu and a main menu. The lunch pricing was very reasonable at 14.00 a plate with one main item, rice of choice and a spring roll. I choose the General Tso Chicken with Fried rice, egg roll and hot tea. The portion was good sized, I asked if it was spicy, then ordered it medium just encase. The chicken was not spicy or as spicy as I thought it might be, thankfully they had a bottle of Sriracha on the table. Great flavor overall on the Chicken and the Fried rice. I really enjoyed the hot tea and the egg roll. I am looking forward to my next visit with my family so we can order a few items and share the meal.

Great Service! Very average, okay tasting dim sum Siu Mai tasted off Ha Gao was more like grounded shrimp, shrimp ball like instead of whole shrimp Sticky Rice Chicken was the best Tea was average cheap tasting When I first came in, there were no customers so worry sets in, but let me just try.. just like pictures looked okay, but maybe it actually taste good? Was below average.. however Service saved it to being okay.. Portland is not known for super good dim sum like that unless H.K. Cafe which is good but not great Not much ambiance just full of tables Clean restrooms

Having not been here in years, I sure miss the roaming dim sum carts! We had to order off the menu and the prices were a little higher than we're used to plus the food was just not as hot as I would have preferred. Overall, food was decent for dim sum. Hubby thought he ordered fried noodles but got chow fun instead. Luckily it tasted good because he doesn't like thick noodles. Typical Chinese service - not very friendly but they get the job done.

Okay I love this place. I've only ever gotten takeout but the food is always exactly what I wanted and it's delicious. I don't know why this place gets so many bad ratings.

I have usually dined at the restaurant, but got it to go this time. Really easy and efficient to order. Only took 15 min. Everything was yummy.

Shin ju roll basically a vegetarian springroll rolled in tofu skin ! Yum!

Food is authentic and makes me sad that i live sooo far away! We ordered enough for five people! Ambiance is fine, chatty environment, friendly staff, and clean establishment! Must visit again soon!

Chow mein - good. Thing noodles, not a lot of chicken, which is fine, good flavor Egg drop soup - terrible. Grey in color, had mushrooms and tofu?? Weird to put into this soup. I don't think there's any eggs in it??? Scratches the Chinese food itch, but don't order the egg drop soup.

Packed today ... still the best Dim Sum in town and better prices than the East side restaurants You can order Dim Sum all day and night. I'm ordering some to go for steaming tomorrow morning before taking my family to the airport. Their dimsum is solid! Looks like they might even do it all day too. No carts, you tick what you want on the piece of paper and then your food arrive promptly after. I noticed that their dimsum items are on the bigger side compared to other spots, making them great for sharing with a group. We got a wide array of things but the top three for me were the Shin Roll, the BBQ Rice Roll, and the Shrimp and Chive Dumpling. I loved how filled these were. The BBQ pork in the rice roll was so tender and flavorful. The shrimp was also super fresh and bouncy. Definitely would go back for these. Prices were decent too with the small stuffs being $5.5, medium stuffs were $6.5, and the large ones were $7.5. We'll be back!

I was surprised how big their menu is, and that it spans from Cantonese dim sum to Sichuan spicy dishes. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. The dim sum is your typical standard fare. They make a good pan fried noodle dish and congee. Of the dim sum items, I think I liked the har gow the best. The rest of the items I think they could use some better seasoning. Service wise they do need a few more carts going when it gets busy. The last time we went, my mom just up and walked over to the cart that was on the other side of the room to get some items. Or just switch to the "pencil and order on demand" method. Saves some of the service hassle. There are some nice banquet sized tables towards the back of the dining room, with lazy susans and such. If you're not looking to go east side for dim sum, this is a suitable place.

It felt very traditional, especially with the lazy Susan's and being able to eat family style Chinese dinner. Every dish we ordered was large and perfect for a large family. Very flavourful, too! This Saturday morning, we went for dim sum with a few friends. I loved that they had carts going around. We arrived right at opening with many other guests, but were promptly serviced. We're all from more Asian areas so it's so nostalgic to sit and speak Cantonese. I was impressed with all of the food. They don't have as many options as other restaurants, but they do have all the basics (har gow, siu mai, cheung fun) that you need. And they were incredibly tasty!! The egg tarts especially were so perfect and flaky. I'm excited for them to become more popular.

The place was full of hungry locals and tourists but was uncustomarily quiet and calm. From the hostess that seated us, to the waitress and servers, all staff and management were extremely polite, positive and helpful. We were starving. So we ordered 3 entrees and side of Dry-fried String beans. The Green Beans were cooked perfectly and the serving size was generous! One of our new favorites is the Mongolian Chicken. Is not a spicy Chinese food dish but the moist chicken and seasonings produced a yummy & comfort food level dish! As usual, the lightly battered & deveined Butterfly prepared Salt & Pepper Shrimp was mouthwatering, with every bite. As the last entree to be served. The ten Chicken & Vegetable Dumplings were fresh and flavorful. Needless to say, with only 2 patrons eating lunch with 3 heaping entrees plus Dry-fried String beans and white rice - we took home 2 more meals worth of Chinese food leftovers. The service was kind of weird/awkward about IDing us for drinks. I assured her I was happy to grab my ID and she was kind of rude, alluding to the fact I look old and she doesn't need it haha. As our food started to come, our friend noticed a long black hair in the chicken dumplings. We notified our server and she investigated the dish on our table. This rubbed us all the wrong way because you should believe your customer and take the plate from the table and maybe exam it in the back/kitchen? We didn't like the hair deter us and everything was truly delicious. We had pork soup buns (good, but not very soup-y), pork wontons in chili oil (yum!), chicken potstickers (probably my favorite), spicy chow mein (delicious), the dry fried green beans (so good)! We were stuffed. I ended up telling the server that we wouldn't need the new chicken dumplings and she was very rude and taken back by that. I feel bad to inconvenience them, but none of it would've happened if there wasn't a hair in the food? There were other small, rude things our server did but ultimately, it didn't ruin our night or take away from the delicious food! I would recommend the restaurant with the warning that the service is lackluster.
