She was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed! As for the food the Happy Hour menu is definitely worth it, the curry was very good and had great flavor to it. The ambiance is peaceful and quiet. Most people order to go or delivery through the apps. I like to have a seat and just enjoy my food. I've tasted a few different dishes so far. Pad Thai with chicken as well as tofu. Pad see ew with tofu, crab fried rice, pineapple fried rice. The fried banana spring roll was perfect for dessert. They're always very friendly and accommodating. I always get the large Thai Tea. Everything has been delicious and I have no complaints. I really enjoyed the pad see ew, it has a vegan soy sauce in it which is different from the gravy I had in it at other places..I liked it much more than the others I've had. Not bad, but I expected more, based upon many of the reviews that I read. I ordered the beef pad see ew and the orange chicken. The pad see ew sauce was sweet and rather dry compared to most other restaurants. The orange chicken was a complete surprise. It didn't have the type of breading that I am used to. It had a breadcrumb consistency, and it was sliced chicken instead of chunks. Not terrible, but it honestly tasted like cafeteria food. Perhaps I visited on an off-day. If you're a fan of Nong's, this place is a close second to the famous khao man gai chicken dish. The gingery sauce is delicious, and the chicken is tender to perfection. The soup that's comes on the side was a little too peppery for me, but other than that everything about this dish was really solid! Will absolutely get this again being close to my work. It's just really feel-good food, don't pass this menu item up! I ordered a crab meat fried rice today & my fried rice comes with a little bit of crab meat (1/2 of a tablespoon) on top of the fried eggs, no crab meat in the fried rice itself. This is a false advertisement! The fried rice does not have the Thai special taste to it. It is like a heatable grocery store fried rice bag. Trader Joe's fried rices are better than this. Thai food is one of my favorites so I was excited to try this new place since there's only a few good spots here in Beaverton. It's a counter service restaurant so the prices are reasonable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I like the decor, it was simple and showed much of the Thailand heritage. I ordered the Pineapple Curry with chicken and a Thai Iced Tea (with coconut milk for a dairy free option). To my surprise, the curry wasn't sweet. It had a good balance of spices. This is an update to my previous review. In the time since my first review of Lanna Thai, they have raised the prices by $5 per item. While this may not be a big deal to most, it has stopped me and my family from being regular customers. It was such a refreshing treat to be able to take my family of 4 for out for dinner at an affordable price, but since the price of each item has been raised so much I can barely afford to treat just myself, much less my family. The food is very good, and they are very kind and accommodating, but the prices are now just too high. I don't understand how this place has such a high rating. Paid $11 for 2 salad rolls with shrimp that was mediocre and barely had enough peanut sauce to go with it. I had the pad kra pao noodles. The green beans came out of a can and the pork was obviously pre-over cooked and then added to the dish. It had no flavor at all. This is some of the worst overpriced Thai food that I've had. Don't bother coming here. In addition, I ended up being sick for 2 days after eating this food, having bad diarrhea and I threw out the remaining food. Every bit as good as I expected from the reviews and better. I ordered two entrees - pad see ew (w/ pork) and the pad kra pao. Both were excellent - piping hot still by the time I got home with them, and bursting with fresh, authentic Thai flavors. I ordered both entrees "hot/spicy" (one level down from the very hot/spicy), which was pretty darn spicy but just right for me. The portions were plenty big and lasted me a whole other meal. Other things worth noting - the owners were welcoming and helpful to talk to when asking questions about the menu, and the place was spotless and seemed to run like clockwork. I'm in town for 5 nights and will visit them again and try something new. they still have some work to do in my opinion.. it wasn't great but it also wasn't terrible. the people who work here are super sweet, and you can tell they need some local support to thrive more. i want to say that maybe if they lower their prices, they may be able to compete with other nearby places like thai bloom, e-san thai, or thai noodle. that considered, a unique thing about this place is that they offer menu items that aren't usually found at most mainstream thai restaurants, such as: - khao nha gai, khao mun gai & khao mun gai tod (saucy or boiled chicken and rice & fried chicken and rice) - khao yum gai zaap (crispy chicken & rice w/ a herby kick) - larb french fries (fries with a herby larb seasoning) - pad thai pockets - nam prik ong (soooo good esp. if you like tomatoes, pork, and spice -- most places don't have this!!) i would encourage you to venture out from the normal choices like pad thai, fried rice, pad see ew and pad kee mao. thailand has so many flavors to offer! you never know what you may end up liking read more

Some of my friends and I decided to try this place because our normal Thai place doesn't have a very good seating area and we usually get takeout. We were hopeful based on the reviews, which at this point I don't understand. Thai food should have strong, vibrant flavors, not the dull paad Thai I got (steamed rice extra, naturally). Pretty sure the crab Rangoon came out of a frozen bag based on the manufactured uniformity. Water was self-serve and lukewarm. I decided not to eat any of the sugar ants cruising the windowsill. According to my partner, the curry was better than the noodles, so there's that. I asked the counter person for some sauce that would give it some flavor. She did not understand, and tried to proffer me sriracha. I told her it was already hot enough; I was seeking actual flavor. At that point, a sensible person would have realized that someone wasn't happy. She lamely offered me a bottle of weak soy sauce. It was easier to take it than complain. Other than that, I give the service credit, although they only bring the food out--one has to order at the counter. Besides the ants, I didn't think much of the kids running around and climbing on the counter. At least they didn't bother us directly, but it did help explain why we were the only customers in the restaurant. That won't occur again. read more

Relatively new Thai in town. This place has quick to order at the counter and buzz your table set up. Came here for the picture advertised but found they don't have "pocket PadThai" anymore. Others on the menu are mostly share plate appetizers, some are very unique. Then they have some noodles that every other Thai also have pretty much the same. I agreed with the other reviews the price is not right for the neighborhood (and self service). $15-18 per small portions to try... it could ends up 70 bucks lunch for a family of 3. Yikes. Hmmm would you rather go for a $19 scallop appetizer with the view, upscale service, silverware and china of Portland City Grill? Hell yea. Small town food price is getting crazy because they are small people and big rents to cover. One man here show also means you have to wait for your food a lot longer than usual. So it's not a quick eatery concept after all. Sorry can't really recommend it. read more
