OH. My.... Some of the best Korean food I've ever had, and I have been to Korea several times! Hidden upstairs inside of a nondescript grocery store is a bonus! Feels like you worm-holed right into a random little diner somewhere in the labyrinth of Busan. The host is a bit abrasive, at first. She will warm up to you later. It's part of the charm.

Great little mom and pop hole-in-the-wall restaurant that's located inside of G-Mart Asian Market. Just walk to the back, around the corner, and climb up the stairway. I ordered the #38 Galbi and it came out sizzling hot! My husband ordered the #20 Galbi Tang and that came out bubbling like a witch's cauldron. My sister-in-law ordered the #37 Bibimbap. Lastly, my brother-in-law ordered the #9 Jabchae. Everything was delicious and served with complimentary hot tea. Water is upon request. There are no fountain drinks. Just canned drinks for $3 each. Although the dishes came out separately, the service was quick. We asked for more banchan and was accommodated with no issues and no extra charge. Overall, I liked this place and would definitely come again to get my Korean fix.

Ultimate korean comfort food located inside the G Mart grocery store. The aunties that work there are so friendly and nice. They also have photo menus hung up on the wall for easy ordering. We've tried their tofu stew, soybean stew, and fried mackerel and they were all so delicious. The banchans they give are also so good. I liked one of the banchans in particular (i dont know the name of it) and I asked if it was available to buy downstairs and they said it was all homemade. Kind of sad that I couldn't buy it but it made me appreciate how much time and effort they put into the banchans.

Been here three times, and loved it every time! I always bring my family / boyfriend here. My Asian mom loves it! Very cozy, authentic vibes! Also casual and comforting. My favorite items are the Soontofu Jjigae (spicy soft tofu stew) and the Haemul Pajeon (seafood scallion pancake). Great for winter time when you just want some warm soup and delicious food.

The best meal I've had in a long time. Ultimate Korean comfort dishes with yummy tea and ambiance. Service was very sweet--loved all the aunties who served us. We got the kimchi jjigae and bulgogi--both were DELICIOUS! Next time, we're definitely going to try the galbi. This place is so perfect 10/10. Parking lot is very small so keep that in mind!

DELICIOUS spot for Korean food in Beaverton. Service was very professional. I loved everything we tried. Everything was hot, fresh, and highly satisfying. You'll fall in love with this hidden gem, with its homey feel. Definitely going to add this to my rotation.

What a fun place for a delicious meal! My son and I visited this place that's in the upstairs of a Korean grocery store. Everything was great! Lovely Korean 'Aunties' (as I see them called in other reviews) serving, a broad menu that is also on the walls with pictures, great service and holy cow, the food was so good. As you will see by my pictures, they cover the table with sides and the meal portions are quite large. Everything we ordered was so tasty! We'll be going back for sure and I would highly recommend!

This restaurant located inside a grocery is delicious! We came in a Sunday afternoon and all of the tables were full. We got seated promptly though. The menu is displayed on the wall with pictures which is helpful. I loved everything we tried here and would go back routinely if I lived in the burbs. It's worth the trek from Portland. Everything was piping hot and so yummy and comforting. We left very full.

Tonkatsu

This spot is a family staple. There's two picture menu mounted on the wall for easy reference. The banchan (side dishes) is a good variety of seven veggies that are refilled upon request. I find the tonkatsu is sizeable and equivalent to two meals for my son. I For those liking a solid rice bowl I would recommend getting #28 namul dolsot bibimbap (in stoneware). I appreciate the variety of hot soups (spicy and non spicy offerings) and definitely recommend the cold buckwheat noodle be bowl when available (Summer).

After watching Korean Moma's vid on this business, I bookmarked this for our trip to PDX. Perfect, after reading the great reviews this place is a Go! It is also so cool that Always Spring Restaurant is tucked away above a Korean grocery store. Once you are at Gmart, go straight up the stairs to get to Always Spring. They were pretty busy on a Saturday night, there were chairs to sit and wait after adding your name on the list. I went to browse at Gmart so it was perfect til we got our table. Andrew helped us and he was friendly, I could see he was super busy doing it all, he managed everything well! Taking orders from all the tables, wait service plus having to answer a ton of questions that I was asking. hehe. The huge picture menu on the board was helpful along with the menu. I went with one of the soups the Korean Mama had which Dak-Dori Tang $18.95 ( chicken stew soup) this comes with rice sides, also got an order of Jjin Mandoo $12.95 ( steamed mandoo. I love the presentation, love all the sides of banchan, all my favorites except for the seaweed which was way too strong, seaweedy! We asked for 2nd servings of kim chee, daikon, broccoli, fish cake which was filled upon requesting. Now the verdict of food, how good is this place?! The chicken stew reminds us both of eating beef stew but Korean style, soup version. The chicken stew was simple and plain with chicken, potatoes, onions, and carrots. I usually order tofu soup so this is a first for me to try. The chicken was tender but I forgot we had chicken for lunch, I should have ordered the other soup ( beef) instead. I normally order the fried man doo and I am so glad I tried the steam one, I loved this, it was steamed perfectly and not overcooked- very tasty! We had leftover steamed mandoo and ban chan which we enjoyed the next day with bowl seafood instant ramen, it went well together. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and dinner at Always Springs, a little on pricey side but no tax! Would I go back again- Yes! I really enjoyed the authentic food. Thank you @Andrew, it was nice meeting you! Also there's another video that went viral, so expect it to be busy. Don't forget to grab your Korean grocery after, especially for some sweets! Closed Mondays!

Authentic Korean. Each dish is packed with flavor and richness. Everything was piping hot and fresh. Plenty of options and all the items we had were great. Space is cramped as there were a lot of tables packed into the space. It's a popular restaurant so you may be met with a waitlist but it's worth the wait.

Environment: the usual, it hasn't changed since I last went which was a few years ago haha. They have more menus that are huge with English, Korean, and pictures. Staff: very friendly, kind, checked on us and always had a smile on his face. Food: My friends ordered spicy food to share but since I can't really eat spicy foods, I ordered a dumpling soup for myself! It was around $17. The food was piping hot and there were lots of dumplings right now. It was very filling and great portions. The soup was also very good because it wasn't too salty and there were small pieces of beef. They weren't very tender but since they were small dice-sized, it was fine.

missing a few photos once again, due to being eager beavers. we ordered the japchae (#9), galbi (#38), omu rice (#12), bokkeum bap (#30), and rabboki (#4) to split amongst the three of us and had plenty to take home. it really is worth all of the hype when you hear by word of mouth that this place is a hidden gem/hole in the wall. everything was delicious and came with banchan! we arrived as it started to get busy and it was packed by the time our food arrived. truly a great local business worth supporting!

Banchan!

Do they take reservation? we have little kid with us and can't wait for long

I'm not sure, but I would be surprised if they did. But if you don't go at rush hour, you should be able to find a table quickly.

Very much a spot you'd want to go out with your friends to. As I entered, the staff came from the back to the front to greet me which was nice instead of having to walk all the way to the back to get seated. I ordered the Half and Half Korean Fried Chicken which came with Soy Garlic and Sweet & Spicy. The chicken was very crispy, had a nice crunch, while still maintaining its juiciness. The crunchy coating almost acted as a heat retention shielding as the chicken was hot throughout almost the entire time I was eating. The Soy Garlic wasn't overly powerful with either of its flavors which was nice for a change and made it enjoyable to eat. The Sweet & Spicy was absolutely delicious and I wish I ordered more. It was perfectly balanced and addictive to eat. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town.

There are many different sauces to choose from, in addition to other dishes like tteokbokki, ramen, fried rice, etc. We tried the rose tteokbokki and it was cooked perfectly. The sauce had a little kick and was the perfect pairing with our chicken. The chicken wings were excellent! The size of the wings were worth the price, the meat was juicy, and the outside was extra crispy and cooked to perfection. Honey garlic is a nice mild flavor and spicy galbi is a smoky spicy sauce that definitely gives galbi vibes. I also have to add that the service was incredible. We were there on a Saturday night, and the wait staff was on their A game. There was always someone checking in on us, and the food came out QUICK! There are a handful of tables, but I would call in advance if you have a big group so they can plan. You can also make a reservation on Yelp. There are a bunch of TV screens around the restaurant which was perfect for watching March Madness! I'll definitely be back to try more wing flavors!

Updated review as of 6/24/26…read more - ordered 8 pieces spicy original and 8 pieces of soy garlic - wanted to place just one order of 18 pieces with half & half but was told that is not an option. Minus one star for not being able to customize based on preference and that personally felt like it was not worth $1.50 to place two separate orders. Even the manager told us as much as he would have liked to help, not something he could as the owners informed them no. This was something very disappointing as other Korean fried chicken places within town allow you to customize and not charge you extra. - had a side of cheesy sticks, which server informed us it's basically mozzarella sticks, kind of disappointed when it came out as parts of the sticks cold probably from the cheese inside and the crunch on the outside of the cheesy sticks was lacking as well. It felt like biting down on a stale prefrozen sticks that didn't get warmed up enough and definitely not fresh or crispy like it was right out of the fryer. Minus another star from that - ambience was low dimmed lights which really was not appealing from the outside, I thought they were closed when we walked by then walked up saw some people but not very obvious until you're right up to the glass. Inside was chilled cold, like AC and fans all blasting. Which was not expected, had to grab a Columbia Omni heat weather proof jacket, maybe would recommend toning it down when it's in the evening like the last 90 minutes before closing to conserve energy and perhaps turn the lights on brighter to attract customers. Minus another star here. - batter for spicy original was good, the golden standard and chicken was juicy, really would be shocked if this was subpar. Soy garlic didnt hit the spot, the crispiness was more like a glaze that you heat on high heat to let it caramelize then that's it, not much crunch and flavor to it other than that outer layer. So this was disappointing as well.

THE FOOD: - For 2 adults & 2 kids under 6, we ordered: The Fox & The Crow flight of meat, mandu, japchae, & gyeran jjim. This was more than enough food for us & even had leftovers to bring home. The quality of meat was great! You do cook it yourself, unlike some other Korean BBQ places in LA & NYC but that's also part of the authentic experience. I thought the banchan was not wow but decent. I was pleasantly surprised w/ how much I liked their japchae which had the perfect chewy noodle & flavorful so I do recommend getting that w/ ur meats & the steamed egg is good here too. OVERALL TIPS: - Don't be afraid to ask for what you want! We requested lettuce to eat w/ our meat, more banchan & asked for a new grill before we grilled our 3rd meat. Their big booths worked will with kids & having enough space for them to color & do other activities so the mamas could enjoy our meal. Lastly, don't forget to snap a photo of your kids by the Jinro soju frog up front too!
