Solid katsu place. We tried almost everything! NY steak, pork, and chicken katsu. Crab croquette and shrimp katsu. My katsu ranking: 1) NY steak, 2) pork, then 3) chicken. The steak was a solid thickness and tender. The pork was juicy and fatty. Chicken was the leanest if you're trying to be health conscious. They were all nice and crispy. I liked how they plated the katsu to sit on top of the rice so it was only partially in the curry to keep it from going soggy. Some places just pour the curry on top and makes a soggy mess. Everything had a solid crunch to it. The curry itself had a nice rich thick consistency. The pickled veggies help to cut the richness too. Spice level can be adjusted. Very hearty and filling portions. The crab croquette reminded me of crab rangoons! Very creamy. The shrimp katsu came separate from the curry and was a bit smaller. Overall, a very cozy family restaurant. From the same owners as Yuubi Sushi, I was confident that Ricky was going to curate some quality katsu curry. I'd come back again.

First time visiting C4 after seeing signs they were now open. Got the Chicken Katsu Curry for me and my wife the Shrimp Curry with the sausage. Both items were solid and the flavors hit. Portions were decent but the cost is a bit high compared to alternatives.

I guess I'm the first lucky customer to review this place so here goes. My wife and daughter went next door to Mutts Coffee to grab some lunch and was kind enough to bring me back some food from C4. I must say it may have felt an eternity waiting for this place to finally open up and so they did. The food is excellent. The pork katsu was delicious. The pieces of pork were generous and the curry along with small bits of red pickles balanced out the flavor. I don't remember how many pork chunks there were but it was a generous amount. I ate half of it for lunch and now I'm finishing up the rest for dinner. The price was $20 which is kind of high but the flavor and amount of food seems to be just right for the price.

Just wow! I'm so glad they opened up in Beaverton because their food reminds me of my fave curry spot back where I'm from, called Curry House. The shrimp katsu was so good with their curry and the pickled radishes on the side. The owner and staff were super nice and attentive! Will definitely be back

Ask the Community - C4 Curry

Are all the curries meat based? Im vegetarian.? It seems that all the curries have meat in them but it is possible to make a vegetable based curry. Thats what I'm looking for.

It has fish and chicken stock.

Wow! Truly excellent curry. This place does only Japanese curry and the chef prepared it…read moreexceptionally well. Hmm, actually, it does two things and is exemplary for both. The first is its curry. You pick between vegetarian, beef, or chicken as a base. Then you decide on which style you like: the usual which is curry next to rice side-by-side. Or if you add cheese and melted it on top it's called doria. I chose the former as I'm a classicist, usually, when it comes to comfort foods. Makoto, the owner demonstrates the second excellence: Customer Service. He welcomed me and then he asked if I had had curry before? He asked if I had any allergies, and then he explained the system to me: select one of the three bases, and then decide which style. Ultimately I went with beef curry because it's the classic I am used to, and requested a side of spinach. Everything was plated swiftly and beautifully and brought to me. The rice was perfectly chewy, the beef curry was seasoned with exceptional balance, not too thick, not too heavy, not too sweet... Just right, and the tender beef pieces were the right size. Punctuated by a side helping of bright pickled radish, and deep green spinach, the dish was just right for $11.95 + a dollar for the spinach. Definitely it was the ideal late lunch. Well he prepared the dish we talked about some shared common, interesting and friendly conversation that was made possible because the lunch rush was over. It's a corner location with very large windows, and bright light, which on a grey day can be quite welcoming. Add to that a perfect dish of comforting curry, and your day will get better.

After over 10 years, we still love this place for fresh & healthy authentic Japanese curry (kalé)…read more Even better, they sell frozen curry (2 portions) for only $12 (beef) or $9.50 (veggie). Just warm it up in a pot, add as many toppings as you'd like (veggies, hard boiled egg, cheese, etc) and put it on top of fresh rice and you'll have the easiest dinner that can feed 2-3 people!

I'd give it at 3.5…read more Environment: very small and narrow. It def. felt like you're in Japan and it's bar style seating. I think there's no more than 10 seats but if the weather's nice they have some outdoor seating, too. The wall had fun drawings and artwork on it which was fun to look at while waiting for the food. Staff: got our orders. Food: I got their Tori Paitan with char siu for $14. The price was reasonable with the portion they give. The char siu was fatty and the egg was runny. It was piping hot and the soup base was not bad. I didn't feel thirsty afterwards. The noodles were cooked nicely. It is a little further away for me just to eat ramen and nothing was outstanding to me. In fact, I felt a little rushed and couldn't catch up with my friends because of the way the store was set up and few spots. We didn't want to keep chatting because that means other customers would have to wait. So, if you want to quickly eat some ramen, come here.
